Fellow writers, I need Advices ;-;

I have too much of imaginations and my mind is filled with potential stories...

THIS IS BOTHERSOME!

Like... I could be at work and serving clients and then BAM! a storyboard pops into my mind and I forget what the client is telling me so I have to make him repeat and... ugh...

I already have 6 ongoing fics, 1 where I co-write and an upcoming one... but Fanfics Idea keeps coming in endlessly and won't leave my mind!

I try to ignore them and concentrate on my ongoing fics but it makes me get blank page syndroms...

I tried writing them out... but I just keep and keep and keep writing and end up publishing them where they end up like all the others... until another wild fic idea takes its place.

Do any of you have advices to give me so I can just put them stories in a corner of my mind where they won't bother me until I finish some stories?

Please... I'm desperate... OTL

Maybe you can try write down the ideas you have in keyword so that when you actually CAN write them you still know the storyline and stuff :33 ... I'm always doing this because I'm to lazy to actually write something down x'DDD ....

Ideas popped up all the time, the stupid thing is that if you write them down as a start of a new fic, it would turned out to be forever endless like you said up there, but if you ignore it and believe one day it would pop up in your mind again and eventually it might be a better time to start a new fanfiction. LOL! I think that every author kinda have that experience. I did, too, yet it has never come back. So, don't waste it, just keep your new ideas in a note in your phone because it is easy to access and i believe it is with you all the time, how about spend some time trying to convert the new idea and make it blend into your ongoing ficinstead of starting new fics, it can be the characteristic of the character and I believe that would somewhat make the fic become more interesting!

First and foremost: I'm a Google lover. I have two accounts, I have a Google tablet, I use a Google laptop. Google all day, every day - over any other storage system. So for my advice, I'm going to be biased toward Google and recommend you use /Google/ operated apps.

Like rest of the comments, I'm also gonna say that you should definitely have something that you can whip out any random time of the day. It doesn't have to be a device. Just a simple writing pad and utensil that you can grab on the spot. (I continually use 'on the spot' and 'random time' and so forth because I, for one, CANNOT remember a plot idea that I created hours prior to getting to a laptop. I dunno about you, but important details and dialogue would be left out if I didn't write it down immediately.)

However, if you DO choose to use a device, make sure it has an app that can store whatever you need to write and save it automatically. I can't tell you how many times I've REALLY been on the spot when I need to type something down and I've lost it because it doesn't save what I've written on its own. I use multiple sources. Great apps for quick ideas would include: Google Keep, Google Drive, Microsoft One Note - hell, even the drafts in your email work!

I have an app called Google Keep, which is basically a notepad version of Google Drive, that saves quick ideas that I can get down in a few small sentences. On Keep I have my ideas categorized by a color system so I can differentiate the types of notes (ideas for a plot vs. things I want my characters to say, etc). It's really convenient to get and use. But, since it's Google, you /will/ need an account first.

Everything that goes beyond Keep is placed on my Google Drive, including fics, longer ideas, plots, and scraps. Even things I wrote in Keep are eventually stored and categorized in Drive. It's basically Google-based advice but these tools are really resourceful. Good luck!

Listen up sweetheart,
I have this way of dealing with my many popping ideas.
I always carry a small idea notebook. Or my cellphone.
Like you I get many various ideas anywhere and everywhere. I either write them out instantly or simply voice record the idea on my phone because it's easier and faster. Then I write them out later to keep them in a safer, always available place.

Now don't get me wrong. I don't write out the entire story out. I simply write code words to remind me of the story later.
If you want to write, then commit to the story you are most inspired by.
But don't give up on any one of them! We all need to learn how to commit to our work. Then and only then will you gain experience and improve in your writing.

Good luck. ^_^

What works for me is that I have a document that just has like one word or two word ideas for stuff. I have like 50 ideas on there. That way, if I need inspiration, I can't just go to the document. Another thing I do which may work well for you is I have a notebook I carry with me everywhere. And if I get an in depth idea, I spend maybe 3 minutes writing out a quick plotline or summary of the story. That helps me get out all my immediate ideas and kind of pushes them to the back of my mind until I can start focusing again.

Also, with publishing fics, I personally live by the idea that you should write the whole fic and then publish it because then you never have to aabandon fics and if you lose interest in writing a fic, no one will know but you because you never uploaded it. It'll also make your readers happy because they won't have to wait for updates for long periods of time or be disappointed if you decide to stop writing an ongoing fic for any reason.

Hope that helps

first of. it seems like you have a job so i suggest not to write for awhile and just do that job.
and as for your fanfics, dont publish them right away. put the ideas in a notebook and write them all there. so that it wouldnt a waste when you suddenly think of something. evaluate them too because sometimes people think up of stories that arent worthy of publishing. (no offence) i have the same problem too and i have solved them by doing so. oh, and before writing up a fanfic, dont just 'write' it. for it to have a good outcome, plan what will happen in each chapter then publish them when its good enough.

I had same problem. When I get I break I will write few things down so I won't forget and try yo keep my mind at work but when I get home I check what I wrote down and then start working on fic. Trust me I am working on few fics too. And still need new chapter for my TUM story but others pop in my head

You should keep a small notebook with you and write down ideas! Then when you are writing you can reference it to see if any of you ideas could be used in that story and if not, you'll still have them for later!

Umm as a fellow writer I do have that feeling and problem as well cause like everything is a potential story tbh. But what I do is I think about the story for a long time, I usually ask myself how would I write this? How would people react? How could I write this is a way that will be original and memorable? If I can't do so with a certain plot I'll drop it. Since you have this problem I'd say just write what's on your mind. Maybe write drabbles? Like a thing for yourself so that when you want to actually write them you can recall the feelings you felt and the stories you want to convey. Having too many ongoing stories feels terrible sometimes cause you want to finish something but you want to write something new and fresh. Don't be tempted to write every single thing :) because if the story was something you'd really want to write it'll come back ^-^ that's my advice to you from my own experiences. Sorry if I dont make sense half the time I struggle with this myself. Hopefully this helps ♡ good luck cutie I hope you find a solution and feel better about this

I'm not really a writer, but in that case, you should either just keep writing out your ideas (turn them into one/two-shots maybe) or actually try and incorporate them into your current stories that you're trying to finish if possible. Perhaps you could even just write the story you have in mind out and save it on a flashdrive/word document but not actually post it on this site and just keep writing it whenever you get the itch to. That way, you wouldn't be accumulating so many unfinished stories, and when you're finally done with the stories on here, you can just post the stories you have saved. Ignoring your ideas definitely isn't going to help though, believe me.

if you wanna write then write it.. if your power to write then suddenly pop out then just go to the flow... dont try to put them away.. until you reach your limit or find boredom..

I feel you. I'm always coming up with new ideas for stories. I myself need to learn how to put some ideas on the back burner.

Why not incorporate all your ideas in one story? I mean, you organize them, then arrange them so they can actually connect. Or maybe instead of writing long stories, why not make it as one, two or even three-shots?
