APPEARANCE — the only alteration in yonghak's appearance from the picture is his eye colour. instead of a dark brown, he has light hazel eyes, almost like contacts, but real. he easily misleads others into seeing them as brown with a simple illusion trick. yonghak has a lean build, slender and almost feminine, but is physically stronger than he appears.
STYLE — yonghak doesn't have a particular style. as he isn't the wealthiest person out there (and thankfully, not the poorest), he doesn't have time to care for his looks and fashion. he throws on whatever he finds in his closet and leaves the house just like that, even if they're sweats and a singlet. most times, however, he can be found dressed in a simple shirt (loose or not, short sleeved or long, he doesn't really care), skinnies and boots. sometimes he likes using hoodies too.

arrogant ♚ yonghak is the master of arrogance and cockiness. he believes himself to be the best, even if he is a silver-level warlock, and not gold - well, he believes he could be the best had his carrier been less nosy and loud. he's virtually made up of snarky remarks, over-the-roof confidence and perhaps even prince-syndrome. perhaps this is why he snuck into the ball when only the rich were invited.
straightforward (honest) ♚ this warlock doesn't believe in 'beating around the bush'. he understands that one feeling where one wonders what the hell the other person's getting at, and he takes it upon himself to be straight with his words. after all, nobody likes hearing your excuses; he doesn't like listening to excuses either, hence he honestly relays whatever he needs to say to the other party, and if needed, a reason. honesty is, after all the best policy, like it or not.
quiet ♚ thankfully, as he's quiet as heck, otherwise he'd have enemies in every corner of ignis. it's very fortunate indeed, with the high rates of crime in the kingdom, and still increasing. yonghak's the kind to rant in his head when something doesn't go his way, or when he gets irritated, fuming silently as he goes about his daily life. he only speaks when necessary, mainly with his carrier, and the few friends he has, like that grandma across the road, and that kid living in the run-down shed next to his run-down house.
just ♚ yonghak knows he's living in the wrong place. of all the kingdoms, he had to live in the kingdom of ignis; really? having been brought up in a family of just and proud warlocks, he winces at every bit of injustice done around the kingdom. when kids are being beat, he can do nothing but watch. when kids, women and men are forced into ion alike, he can do nothing for them. he can't help them no matter what, for fear of being found. what he can do, however, is share his rations and clothes, and if he can afford it, he does so. and shelter, if his carrier allows.
impatient ♚ he is every bit as impatient as he is arrogant. yonghak can never wait for any longer than ten minutes past the designated time. for him, every second is a stab in the heart - it's probably his survival instincts, to work for as long as he can to earn as much as he can. it's not only due to that instinct however, but also his prince-syndrome, of being above the others. he hates waiting on others; how could they, to him, who is greater than them?
intelligent ♚ a strategist, he likes to think of himself. a strategist as well as a fighter. with his quick wit and processing brain, yonghak is undeniably intelligent, along with the knowledge he has of the kingdoms as read from books brought by carriers to his home back in the barrenlands. he'd been told tales too- but anyway. yonghak is quick with remarks and completes puzzles in record time. the downside to his intelligence? he overthinks everything, leading a mild version of paranoia, as well as sometimes a boosted ego, something nobody needs.
unaffectionate ♚ there's nothing else yonghak hates more than skinship- apart from injustice and being looked down upon, but whatever. he hates anybody, and he means anybody touching so much as a hair on him. this warlock rarely shows any sign of affection to anyone, with the exception of his parents and the grandma across the road of course. but when he does, he is overbearingly adorable, quoted from his carrier, but sticks with his silent, princely manners. unfortunately for yonghak, his carrier takes it upon himself to make full use of the former's dislike of skinship.

PAST —
when yonghak was born, his brother was killed by a disease. for some reason, this planted the idea of him being a special, godsent child that could change the world for the magiks into his parents' heads. they believed the death of his brother, their older son, was fated, as the godsent child shouldn't have a sibling. as this was so, his parents pampered him, showered him with love and care, treated him better than they had with his late brother (although he'd never know how his brother had been treated). they gave him their rations, hard-earnt food and water, cleansed with magic. he grew up spoilt and bratty.
childhood was a time he once dreaded. at the age of twelve, he was forced to learn to use his magic. his parents taught him for hours on end, working from one to another. for three months, he had tried searching for his own special gift, in between, practicing the arts of the elements. easily, he had mastered fire, and it was only when he had mastered earth and learnt a little about wind and hardly anything with water, when he had discovered his talent in illusions. he had been irritated and tired, he'd been about to snap, when another him materialised right before him and spoke in his voice, moved in the very same way he did. it felt weird, but he felt superior to his parents as he watched them coach his doppelganger. not that his parents fell for it for long though.
throughout childhood, carriers would often drop by their isolated hut, in search for money. yonghak would curiously watch them, occasionally piping up with questions on the world inside of the kingdoms. he was interested in leaving, on going on an adventure, but his parents would turn them away, stating he was too young to leave for a kingdom. later, they noticed a particular carrier coming by often, and he'd never ask about taking yonghak away. instead, he brought books for them, knowing there was a child, young and willing to learn. he'd bring books on the different kingdoms, on lifestyles and history. needless to say, they grew close, and eventually the man broke yonghak's parents' walls and let him take their child, now fifteen to a kingdom. cha jonghyuk did not accept any money. at least, until they threatened to burn him to bits for being suspicious.
PRESENT — yonghak now lives with his carrier as an orphan boy, picked off the streets when he was close to dying. with a little bit of illusion magic to alter the memories and sights of the residents, the lie was bought easily, and everyone accepted him as the 'pity child who's being taken care of by that cha jonghyuk'. every now and again, he'd run into members of mafias and criminals who'd side-eye him, sometimes even going as far as to try to hurt him (he lets them believe he's being beat up, but he really just creates an illusion field around the premises).
OCCUPATION — yonghak doesn't have a stable job. he tries his best to look everywhere for one, but nobody would accept a child from the slums, no matter his intelligence levels. so he lives by taking up any work he can get, from a delivery boy to a private investigator for cheating spouses. his working hours? they go for as long as he can take.

♚ what else does he need to survive around here but food? there are days when he starves, and if there were three meals a day on the dining table, he could literally cry tears of joy.

DISLIKES/FEARS —
♚ being looked down upon for his physique. to add on, he also dislikes judgemental individuals.
♚ the fact he can't do anything to help his fellow neighbours. he really hates it.
♚ being ignored. there's no other way of being told 'you're under me' if not directly, but being ignored.
♚ speaking to 'worthless souls'. he only speaks to those he deems to be 'deserving of his attention'. it's not really his style to talk, anyway.
♚ although he doesn't admit it, yonghak has a fear of death. he's afraid of he might disappear when he dies.
♚ he has a fear of being caught by the authorities, and also fears for jonghyuk.
HOBBIES —
♚ he has an interest in music. he dreams of playing the piano, and composes tunes that are never written down.
♚ taking up odd jobs has become a hobby over the years. especially when he's playing detective yonghak.
HABITS —

♚ as yonghak first wakes up from any sort of rest, he sits up from laying, stares at nothing whilst he thinks about what he'll do for the day for about three minutes before moving.

♚ although he is totally capable of stealing from the other folk, yonghak never abuses his power.
♚ yonghak only dates girls of the middle class. the higher class girls are too influential, the lower class ones are pitiful and poor. middle class girls are the best to take from, he believes. he does his research to make sure they aren't touchy before pursuing them in his very unique but cliche ways.
♚ although he dates girls, he's always known he feels more attraction to males.
♚ while helping to pay the bills for jonghyuk's house, he tries to pay off all chaera's bills.
yonghak and his father have a close-knit relationship. as a child, he'd always run to his father first if his mother was 'being a meaniepoo' to him, only to be reprimanded. not that he ever learnt that daddy was going to ever side with him though. he had also been the one to bring up teaching him magic in that absurd twenty-hours-a-day way.
sonhee and yonghak, like with his father, have a very close relationship. as much as yonghak loves his mom, she can be really annoying at times, and naggy. and loud. and mean. but he loves her nonetheless, even if he may complain and whine.
FRIENDS —
jonghyuk is yonghak's carrier, caretaker, life-changer and second father. the warlock loves the guy, feels indebted to the guy, and considers him to be more important than himself, which jonghyuk thinks is unfortunate as the kid has nineteen years under himself.
she is the only other person to know of yonghak's identity. apparently, her memory was the only one left unaltered by his magic, the reason unknown. however, she keeps it a secret, and yonghak is thankful for it. he often goes to visit and entertain her with what he can do, as he knows her children are no longer around.
his young friend is a crafty guy, living in the run-down shed next to his home with jonghyuk. the kid lives by stealing wallets. he had been the only person yonghak had saved as he had only just arrived in the kingdom and been unable to fight the urge to stop the young child succumbing into ion. to jun, yonghak is jonghyuk to the warlock.
OTHERS —
once yonghak had leached off eunhwa what he believed to be 'enough', he'd left her. as the persistant girl with a puppy crush on him, she'd somehow found him living in the slums, the opposite of the life he had told her he lived. as it had been time since their break up, yonghak had managed to woo someone else, and feeling betrayed, eunhwa vowed to have her revenge.

THE PRINCE OF... — ignis.
NICKNAMES —
( ♚ — prince bastard; ) among the members of the slums and definitely by yonghak. there's no elaborate explanation but that kris is a ruthless, uncaring prince. alternatively, he is sometimes called sir bastard.
SUMMARY — to everyone kris is the perfect leader, the one who understands how the world revolves, the one who creates the rules, the one who gives the rightful punishments. he's quick-witted, smart, has the brawns and looks; basically, the ideal guy for every girl - i mean, who wouldn't want to get with him? he has power, wealth, looks, although his personality's down in the dumps but still, he's the guy to get you away from all the crime. if one spends enough time with him, they'll find he is socially inept at matters that do not relate to his work, stuttering and blubbering. he's quite clumsy, especially when he's excited, tripping over invisible rocks and running into doors.
FIRST MEETING — they first met out on the streets, with kris giving him a disgusted look for being a resident of the slums. as kris left, yonghak flipped the bird at him, but was caught by some of the prince's bodyguards. needless to say, hit the fan and he had the most excitement in the five years he'd lived in ignis.
CURRENT RELATIONSHIP STATUS — pretty much a one way hate. kris is only disgusted at the state of the slums (not that he's going to do anything to change it) and it's people's hygiene. after his second meeting with yonghak, he feels intrigued by the boy and wants to know him better. yonghak hates kris for not doing anything to save his kingdom from crime. and the fact kris is a prince. but either ways, they're a bickering duo. kris would totally have yonghak killed had the guy not amused and entertained him so much.
SECRET CONCLUSION — as he was walking home with kris from a friendly date (if one party is threatened into a date can it still be considered one?), he finds chaera's house has been broken into. there're pieces of her old rocking chair, and bits of her household items spilling out the front door - or front arch now, he supposes. the old lady doesn't have much, but desperate souls call for desperate measures. being the attached warlock he is to her, he first stays frozen, kris slightly panicking at his widened eyes, trembling lips and tensing figure, before he's running into the rickety house. as kris is about to race after him, there's a loud crash, and someone's flying out from grey dust. another two people follow after, thrown out from various places, and after kris breaks out from his surprise, he checks in on yonghak. the warlock's eyes are flashing a bright hazel, his hands harnessing the power of flames, the wind around him dangerously whipping up, bits of debris floating about him protectively. he notices the old lady on the ground, and she weakly calls to yonghak that they have a visitor.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS — eunhwa, his ex, happens to be at the ball too and goes down that road. yonghak manages to escape with magic, but with some sorta cost. // kris' spies spying on yonghak doing his spy work spying on a cheating wife. i just think it'd be entertaining. // cute dates with kris softening up. maybe some sort of festival date or something giggles. // yonghak sending a doppelganger of himself to go on a date with kris, only to get jealous of it.
