Serious Topic Guys...

I know I've said this before... But I'm atheist.

I know! I worship the devil, I'll go to hell, I'm evil, blah blah blah. SPARE ME!!!

Seriously, I don't know which is worse! The fact that I have to respect other people's religious beliefs but they don't respect mine, or that people decided that because I don't believe in god, I'm automatically a bad person!

SO ING ANNOYING!!!

So what you're saying is, you're allowed to say I'm evil and bad for not sharing your beliefs, that I must be stupid for not seeing what's 'blindingly obvious', but I can't say the same to you?! I can't say anything about your beliefs, but you're allowed to discard and disrespect mine?! Bull!

I'm so so so mad right now! My new neighbors, devout Catholics, just got done chewing me out for not believing in God. I let it slip. I shouldn't have. But ooooh do I wanna hit something now!

The wife says to me, "Oh, but you're so nice, and smart! I had no idea you were atheist! How can someone as smart as you not believe in God?"

The husband says, "Why don't you? Did something happen when you were little? All that bad stuff that happened, that's the Devil, trying to turn you! Don't let him win!"

What I wanted to say was, " you! You don't know about what happened when I was little! And who said you had to be mean and stupid to be atheist!"

What I actually ended up saying was, "I'll respect your beliefs if you respect mine, thank you."

The wife says, "Oh, but you don't have a belief!"

I could've slapped her.

The girls at my school are no better! I already mentioned they think I'm possessed by the devil, but Jesus Christ! They're so hypocritical too! They say it's ok that the Muslim girls who go to our school don't believe in god, but me?! Hell no! How dare I not believe in god?!

And then, when I snap at them for saying something stupid and ignorant, they say,

"I would slap you, but it's ok. You don't know any better because God hasn't shown you the way."

EXCUSE ME?!!? You're the one who doesn't know any better if you think that is appropriate to say!

It's official. I have lost all faith in humanity.

Thanks for putting up with my mini rant... I seriously needed to vent

ok, so first of all I'm a Christian and I don't hate, disrespect you or think you're stupid for being an atheist. couple of things, muslims do worship a god, they worship Allah and under Allah is their.... ummm main prophet Muhammad. the idea of you "Worshiping the devil" isn't technically true. I believe (as a Christian) that everyone who doesn't serve God (the Christian God) serves the devil and will go to hell but the fact that you don't worship my God doesn't make you a bad person; the fact that as a person you sin, makes you a bad person exactly the same way it makes me a bad person.

I don't know what kind of school you go, is it Catholic or Christian or something? and by the way, just to clarify there is a BIG difference between Christians and Catholics. Yes everyone is entitled to their own beliefs absolutely and it's wrong that people are belittling your beliefs BUT a lot of people in the academic world and business world and in general life do actually ridicule religion and try to make it entirely irrelevant to today's world. So while individual people like you may be treated wrongly for being an atheist and your point of view may be ignored, it's actually the other way around in the bigger world. and yeah I don't agree with the wife, Atheism is as much a belief as any religion :)

I am kind of curious though, do you think it's blindingly obvious that there's no God? why?

and please don't take offense to any of this and I'm not trying in ANY way to tell how evil you are etc. just interested by your post. feel free to ignore me or tell me to get lost :)
