I need advice...

I don't know what to do anymore. I often create stories and then halfway through lose interest in continuing them.

I need advice on how to have that spark again.

I mean I write one-shots to help scramble the brain for new ideas but so far things are not working out.

I am problematic. Help?

i've tried to listen to music while writing and all that jazz, and it honestly doesn't help me.
What does help, however, is taking a break and remembering why you started the story in the first place. recall the initial emotion that you had when writing the story. maybe listen to the song you heard that made you want to write it, or take a look at the story you read that inspired you. take a break and read other books- not fan fictions. read a classic, dance a bit, get the muddled feelings out of your systems, and then head back to the drawing board and see what comes to mind.

This happens to me all the time. So for the most part... i tend to try to write other ships. You can't exactly force yourself to write a certain fic... just let whatever comes to you with inspiration and write it. It doesn't matter if you take a million years to update... ua know?

To be honest maybe you need a small break from your idols. You know that saying absence makes the heart grow fonder, well maybe if you take a short break you won't feel so overwhelmed by certain stories and you can come back with a clear head, and you'll really want to write again. I also find really good manga helpful because those stories are so varied its bound to get your creative juices flowing.

I don't know if my method (or if it should actually be called one) really works on certain people.
Some of the things I do might just be the same to some people so you've probably heard a few of these methods to overcome losing interest in writing your story.

I usually compile like a whole playlist of the idol (if it's an idol group that sings) and play it as I write. Or~ I just compile whatever song that fits the genre and mood of either the whole story or that scene itself.

Reading back your work helps too because it helps pick up your flow again. You tend to get fresher and newer ideas on how to go about that scene/part. This method really helps when I haven't touched that fic for some time because that really helps pick up your mood and you're really inspired to continue the story.

The final method I result to when I'm really bored with it or am just STUCK with the plot, I write out another short story. I don't do one-shots often because they end up too long and become multi-shots. That's why I end up doing short stories. I don't recommend this method though because history might repeat itself and you might get stuck on the second story you're currently working on.

Overall, maybe it just means you need a break. Take a day or two, a breather, to clear your mind. I know people say if you want to write, write at least something a day. But if you've gone all out and written pages and pages of stories, then maybe a break is what you really need. Once your mind's at ease, it should be fine.

Hope this helps.
