Title: The Truth Behind

1)Grammar: 5/ 5
Perfect score. I don’t see any big problems when it comes to sentence structure or spelling. You can easily understand what the author is trying to say.
2)Diversity of Conversational Structure: 3/ 5
From what I’ve read, I don’t see a lot of personality differences in the characters. For me, it’s a bit bland. I’m sorry for being harsh but some characters still lack personality that defines/separates them from other characters.
3)Typographical errors and Layout: 5/ 5
With the website dictating most of the layout, I think no relevant change in score.
4)Story Title: 5/ 5
It intrigued me. “The Truth Behind” did sound like an angst story in which I am always interested in.
5)Description: 4/ 5
It was nice to see why the author wrote such a story and the inspiration. Seeing this, it gives readers a better understanding of what to expect. In some way it’s positive and has a bit of a negative side. The story loses a bit of the surprise factor. It would have been more fitting to see it at the end.
6)Foreword or Prologue: 3/ 5
The prologue lacked the factor that would encourage me to read more. In my opinion, the news report lost a bit of the realistic side. The timing of the report was too early. I think the author could have written it with a bit more mystery.
7) Story Plot:
- The presentation of Characters: 3/ 5
I don’t like seeing characters to be already weak in the beginning. It annoys me. Before I enjoy them but with time, tastes change. The S.H.E could have been defined better. This is the problem with girl groups. Authors usually mistake one personality to be a general personality with everyone. What I’m trying to say is that even in subtle ways, there are differences with each one. For me, I think even though Ella is considered the ‘boy’ of the group, she’s really a girly-girl. Selena acts a bit demure and has this playful streak in a sweet kind of way while Hebe has this unusual confidence.
- The distinctiveness of the conflict: 14/ 15
- From the very beginning the gist of the story has been established. It was also the author’s inspiration for writing, “The Truth Behind”.
- The flow of the Events: 9/ 10
The flow was good. Since it’s more of a flashback kind of a story, scene highlights are made.
- The quality of the description of the setting and its appropriateness: 3/ 5
Personally, I’m not satisfied with the whole plot. Every story has potential but it lacks the content that most readers crave. It’s too sad. Nothing makes it interesting. From what I’ve read, I only see Hebe losing control over her life and emotions. There has to be something more. I can’t see the struggle and a more detailed insight of what she’s experiencing.
- The fitness of the twist in the story: 10/ 15
This is what the story generally lacks. It loses the appeal for readers to continue to read or read the story a couple of times.
- The consistency of the content: 5/ 5
The good thing is that this story is consistent. Maybe a bit too consistent but consistent nonetheless…
- The taste of the story: 10/15
For angst and S.H.E fans especially Hebe fans, it’s still interesting to read especially with its message to readers.
Overall score: 78 POINTS
Originality and details are a must. I think the author could still improve on this. With a great message and inspiration, it’s never too late to make improvements.
All of what is written here is solely my opinion. I apologize for any rude or unsavory words I’ve used that might have caused the author to be discouraged. My role is to evaluate and help the author to improve. I hope that this review helped the author in some way. Thank you~
