Is there something wrong with liking boys love genre?

Earlier, I was ranting to my sister about this apparent ban or review of boys love genre in China. I was telling her about and then she asks Why do you love gay dramas, are you gay?

SERIOUSLY?!Do I have to be gay for liking it?

Isn't it the same as liking heteroual dramas? It's about love. For me, it's a novelty since you don't see a lot of same romance. Publicly, you don't say that you love it which big time. Isn't it the same concept as liking something opposite or what you can't have? They're like a fairytale story to me; a woman/girl who likes guys but loves the genre.

I don't understand why look at the genre negatively. It's still love. Why read romance if you don't consider such pairings? It's too bias for me.

It's not about the anymore. Sure I was hooked in the beginning because of the forbidden love concept and whatnot but that wasn't the reason why I kept watching. gets pretty old quickly. I stayed in the genre because of the plot. When you really think about it, it's also like romeo and juliet, star-crossed lovers whose parents are enemies. In this case, the feuding families are the society.

For me, there's nothing wrong with boys love. It's cute, endearing and occassionally steamy...haha

How about you guys? What about your thoughts about it?

Of course there's is nothing wrong with it. I remember this one time a gay friend of mine asked why I wrote boys love fic and she asked me if I was gay and I told her no, yet she still thought it was weird. A straight girl writing gay fics was abnormal to her. My other friends understand, and a majority of them are straight as well. But I don't think it has anything to with narrow or open-minded people. Everyone is just opinionated and baised with there own beliefs, really. I really have no idea how I came to love and enjoy such a thing -boys love- but I'm definitely not complaining. The fluffy moments and etc. are all worth it.

Maybe it's just a preference. Some things appeal to people and some things don't. I suppose this is where respecting personal opinions comes along though

There is nothing wrong about it. I do like boyxboy genre and i have no one to talk about it or to argue about it. Because there is so many homophobes around me.
