firstly, just say hi, than u know, talk about random stuff (not too personal YET) then when you get close, talk about other things about yourself, and then when you think its time to tell him u like him, write a note or message or something

Treat him like a bro :) Get close to him but not too close or else you mind fall into the friendzone (which hurts so bad, I cry).

Well, as an advice maker for my friends. What I can say to you is, Friend!
Guys are easily decipherable, in my part, you can tell what they like, dislike, or are interested in by becoming their friends. Plus you can find out what type of person that guy is, like if he is sweet, kind and clumsily adorable or the straight forward, direct, bad boy type. When you figure that out it's easy to know how to interact.

But main thing you need to know, is that you have to get on their "good side" as in, talk to them about their likes and share opinions. But do give him space, talk to him occasionally that way he'll be comfortable around you. I guess once you're all friends with him, try approaching in a different way if you want to. Subtle hints? lol
