So I Heard About the Whole EYK Thing...

Everyone else was making a blog about it, so I figured...hey. Why not?

Let me just say now that I'm not going to bash Simon and Martina or anything, but if you're a die hard fan of Eat Your Kimchi then sorry.

First of all, I was never a fan of the two of them in the first place. I remember hearing about them for the first time about 4 years ago and while I only watched a couple of their videos before completely forgetting about them, I was okay with what they were doing.

But for the past 2 years or so, I'm hearing about the "jokes" and comments they make now and I'm just like "seriously?" (the comment that's been talked about the most is their little BAP joke) and don't think any of that stuff is cool. My sister used to follow them until Maxstep came out (apparently they made a video about it. I don't know what they said but my sister told me that they said something that she thought was stupid. She was already starting to hate them before that, but I guess them insulting something in relation to her ultimate bias [Eunhyuk] was her last straw and really pissed her off).

But I really don't want to go on a tangent and start ranting about all of that so I'm going to get straight to the point.

This whole idea about them reading a whole bunch of fanfics for their next video...eh...I don't think I'm too happy about that.

I know that when I decided to join AFF and start writing stuff on here, I let my stories out for literally anyone to see. But I don't want my next fic to be used as one of their next "examples". Besides, if they're willing to say all that stuff about legit kpop idols, I can only imagine what they would have to say about a weird African girl who stays in her room all day XD I know they said that once they receive links to an author they would talk to that author for their permission but let's just do them a favor so we can save everyone's time.

If you're going to send in an author's fic, please ask them first. I've already read a couple of blogs of authors saying that people have been sending in their fics when that was the complete opposite of what they wanted. Please show your favorite authors some respect and ask them first (I don't mean to sound pissy. I've had a long day so words won't come out as nice as I would like them to. Sorry).

I see a lot of authors who are putting their stories on "friends only", "subscribers only", and "members only". I've heard that many authors have just decided to delete some of their stories in general. I used to be against the whole idea behind putting your story on "subscribers only", but I can't blame the ones that are doing it now (no, I won't put any locks on my stories. I have reasons).

Anyway...did everything I said make sense? But I feel like I just spent this time aimlessly talking LOL. I'm sorry about that. Everyone's blog feed is probably being blown up about the whole EYK thing, so I'm sorry, but I felt the need to say at least something about it.

Actually, they never said a word about reviewing. They said they might use a fanfic, which can mean a lot of things...

I watched a few of their vids last year or so... I didn't think they were "bad." But apparently, they aren't that great anymore, and...yeah.

I don't have a lot of stories, so I'm not too worried. (Plus, 2 out of 4 I have are M-Pop related, so...)

But yeah, I really don't think this is right to do in general. :/ Idk. A friend of mine said that they're not /technically/ doing anything illegal. *shrugs*

But still...
