·· Sena was born into the low middle class society. Her mother was a hanbok maker and her father a blacksmith, they had income but it barely supported their family of 9. Sena was the third oldest of seven children, her two elder brothers (20 & 19), her younger sister (15), her two younger twin brothers (13) and her younger brother (10). Since little she was taught the basic female chores, such as cleaning, cooking and sewing. However, she would always take time to go play with her elder brothers be it, in the river, with wooden swords or rolling around fighting in the mud. Their brothers would teach her everything they learned from their father. They even taught her martial arts as a way for her to know how to defend herself. You see once Sena was born it was apparent to everyone that she was a beauty and grow up to be ever much so. Therefore, her father, against her mothers wishes, let Sena's brothers teach her about martial arts. It would always be the funnest part in her day, spending time with her siblings.

·· Her elder brother was studying to take the exams to be one of the royal guards, while her second elder brother was taking the exams to become a scholar. He was the one to teach Sena how to read. After that, he kept bringing her books for her, which of course she loved, about history, fantasy, novels. Sena was always one to help around the house with her younger siblings, but she also made time for herself to go off and explore or find somewhere to read her books. She eventually taught her other siblings to read, and read to them every night.

·· Ever since little she's always had this bad premonition about the Elders, they always seemed to have this dark and scary aura with them. Plus, they never failed to look at her and whisper something to each other while nodding. This made her really dislike them, it was clear that they were talking about her and she didn't like that. She had heard about the sacrifices but she was positive that on no account would they take her in to consideration. She didn't wear pretty hanboks because her family could only afford one and she only wore it on special occasions, since she had the bad habit of dirting her clothes with mud or food. However, she then started thinking about the possibility that they could choose her sister, which she didn't like at all. She kept her sister wary of them and didn't even want her to leave home alone or often. She became very protective of her.  

·· Her best friend (another village girl, if it can be an applicant better) and her were never ones to follow but were leaders and would never submit to bullies, especially the ones who put down and ridicule others for fun. She would always get in trouble for that, since would run away with her faster than her head, followed by her fist on occasions. "How many times do I have to tell you! Girls don't get into fights, especially with boys!!" her mother would always end up saying this to her while scolding her after she had just punched Taejoon (the most irritating village's bully) right on the nose, this time dirtying her clothes with blood, which does not come off. Her mother would always be very demanding and nagging towards her, while her father loosened the chains with her. She understands her mother nagging her, since Sena naggs her younger siblings about doing their chores and helping around the house, etc. But when her mother gives her the lecture about being more "lady-like" she can't help but roll her eyes.

All in all, Sena has had a normal childhood and adolescence and wasn't at all prepared for what was to come. 

·· Sena is the kind of person who will nagg at someone but doesn't like to be nagged at. She's responsible and dependable, she does her chores but is also strong-willed and free spirited likes to head out on her own and explore. She's quite candid, and is not one to keep her thoughts to herself. She tends to talk a lot, and her smart mouth can run away with her which has gotten her into trouble countless times. But she's also very clever and quick-witted which alows her to use her words to get her out of awkward or unfavorable situations. She can be unpredictable and impulsive when her emotions get the best of her, but she tries to control them as best she can. She tends to be a know-it-all and can be really sarcastic and cynical when she's frustrated or upset with someone. She's not one to let her emotions out when she's sad, for instance she won't cry in front of others but she will distance herself. However, when she's happy, angry or hungry you'll know. She gets especially cranky when she's tired or hungry. In this aspect she can be rather childish. She's optimistic and tries to find the upside to everything, she likes to give people security that everythings going to be alright. She doesn't like to worry others but has a tendency to worry her mom a lot, to which she's sorry for but that's why she makes sure to do all the chores first before acting on her own and leaving to go off to do her things. Sena can't help but lend a helping hand to others she has this maternal instint to care and help another person. She's never one to turn her back from her loved ones in need. She can be very loving and affectionate but only to those she's really close with, she doesn't open up easily to people, but she's polite towards elders and kind towards kids. She can't help it, it just comes naturally to her. Sena's first priority is her family. She loves with all her heart and doesn't want anything bad happening to them, that's her biggest fear. These days she's heard about the rumors of the Elders picking certain girls to offer as sacrifices to the Gods, and she's scared that they'll pick her sister. She won't let that happen, ever. 

PERSONALITY. 

Jonghyun is one of the nicest Gods. He's caring and patient, even with Sena who is utterly angry, scared and defiant towards him. He, unlike the other Gods, is also kind and gentle. Always making sure that no harm comes to any in his realm or to Sena. He's attentive towards others, especially Sena. He's calm and reserved, as well as compationate and genuine, as if his heart is taintless and fragile. He's almost always seen as someone mature but can suprisingly become child-like at times, especially when things don't go his way. Still, he tends to think about the well being of his realm before himself. His gentle and sweet smile are the talk of the palace maids and servants. Nevertheless, there are people who take advantage of his kindness, still he's one to forgive easily and does not hold grudges. However, that doesn't mean you can you can look down upon him, for if his loved ones or his people are in danger he can turn very fearsome. He can forgive those who wronged him but those who wrong his loved ones won't be treated with kindness or compasion, he will not stand for it. He tends to be rather laid-back and doens't like to have conflict, which is why he has more friends than foe. He prefers it that way since it's more peaceful. Despite his calm outlook he can be unexpectadly and suprisingly, quite snarky at times. He's never one to judge other based on apperance but rather by how they are as a person and how they act. As he is sincere, he looks for the sincerity in others. Jonghyun is mature when it comes to differenciate right from wrong, however he believes that things will go as he pleases and that he's in control. However, that's not always the care, even for a God. He noticed this when Sena came, she was most definatly either in his control nor did things go as he pleased with her. Therefore, he believes that he has to do everything in his power for things to go as he pleases, resulting in him being a bit too nosy. As I've said before, Jonghyun is genuinely patient, he believes that things will happen in due course. He's also quite strong-willed as well, which helps him deal with others and he doesn't give up at all. Jonghyun, is quite difficult to read. He's reserved and doens't talk about himself much or that easily, he tends to keep his problems to himself, he doesn't like to burden others. He's mostly mature and collected but once you get to know him, you'll see that he's actually very witty and likes to tease. This side of him always suprises people since he always has this calm pokerface, you would never have imagined that he could be playful and mischevous. He's one of those who tends to protect from afar, he's always considerate and protective. Jonghyun is sincere and genuine in everything he does. Once he's determined he goes all the way, which is one of his many charming qualities. 

MEETING. 

The last thing Sena remembers is pain and darkness. Then, suddenly she felt her lungs filling with fresh air and it felt like she had been holding her breath for a long amount of time. She felt her hair being pulled and she looked back to see a young man, dressed in silk clothes and his hair wet. He reached for her hand, a smile forming on his face, "Welcome to the Water Kingdom." Sena quickly backed away, her eyes widening in fear. "Don't be afraid. I won't harm you." He was a very beautiful and gentle looking young man, however she knew, his very prescence gave off a very strong aura. She knew that he was the Water God. She looked around her and saw that she was in a beautiful kingdom. She got up, refusing to take his hand. As she took everything surrounding her in, she remembered that she had just been sacrificed, her fear slowly started turning into anger and despair. The young man kept on talking to her but she barely heard him, tears were slowly falling on the side of her cheeks. She would never see her family again. She fell on her knees and started to cry, she didn't care all she knew was that she missed her family and that she was a prisoner here. The God put his hand on her shoulder but she shook it off and glared at him through her tears, so he simply stood next to her, watching her as she wept. She fell asleep while crying. The God scooped her up in his arms and took her to her chambers. She dreamt that her father had picked her up in his arms, she felt warm and safe. But woke up the next day in a large, grand but unfamiliar room. She felt dissapointed hoping that her dream was real and that her reality was a dream. 

YOUR STORY. ··
The day of the choosing, Sena and her family stayed home. The elders, sent someone there and as Sena held her younger sister behind her and sent death glares to the guards to try and take her. She was suprised to find them holding onto her arm and dragging her outside. She thought of resisting but then she saw the look on her father's eye, if he did something they would kill him. So, she smiled and shook her head to signal her family not to do anything. She was relieved that they didn't come for her sister but was scared and sad that she had to leave them. After, they took her towards the ritual place, where she saw the rest of the sacrificed girls tear stained faces, including her best friend, she knew that the sacrifice was truly to kill them. She looked at the Elders with disgust and hatred. After that, she doesn't remember much only a sharp pain, as if the air had been out of her lungs and darkness.

She then finds herself in the Water Kingdom. Here, Sena is not at all pleased with having to live with the Water God, even if he's her "husband" or if the maids and butler keep insisting that she's lucky because he's the nicest God. She doesn't care about that, all that she cares about is that he took her away from her family. That he accepts these sacrifices. She hates him. So, at first they didn't hit it off at all. After her fear turned to anger she started to become defiant towards him, not wanting anything he gave her or even wanting to see him. He, on the other hand, was very patient towards Sena. He understood her sadness and left her time to mourn, while sending the servants with gifts or things that he thought would make her feel better. All, of course, failed to please her and only made her mader. She got mad at the thought that he thinkgs he can buy her happiness with presents.

After a week of this, he couldn't take it anymore and went to her side of the palace. After a few hours of asking her to open the door, she let him in. They talked for the first time, after meeting, and he gave her a gift. She felt so exasperated by this, that she didn't take it. He opened it for her revealing a book. She took interest in this, he noticed and his eyes softened. Her eyes, however, got watery and as he gave her tha book she coudln't help but hold it tight to her chest. It was one of the books her brother had given her. He then proceeded to tell her that the palace has a huge library and that she was welcome to it anytime. She turned away wiped her tears, and then turned to look at him stright in the eyes, she saw that he didn't waver and so she saw that he was sincere. So, she softened a bit.

After that, she started opening up to him slowly. He found a way for her to spend time with him, and so he made her read to him one of her favorite stories every night. She enjoyed that, since it reminded her of how she used to read to her siblings. He, in turn, would play gayageum for her. They got to know each other more. She saw that he was kind and attentive towards people but also saw a suprisingly playful side to him, as well as his protective side. When they met the other Gods, he was very serious and protective of her. She noticed that he didn't mind when people insulted him, he could forgive that, but when they did harm to those he cared about he turned scary. Which she never saw him show her. He would always unconsciouly find himself teasing her and thinking it was cute seeing her all embarrased or mad at him, with a frown on her face or a pout. However, he seemed to want to make her smile most of all. He even let her visit or let her friends, the other sacrificed girls, come and visit her. He even taught her how to sculpt. He would always rescue her or comfort her, when she screwed up at court or somehting, and he saw that felt most comfortable either alone with him, in the library or with the villagers.

Still, whenever she felt she was getting too close to him, she started to remind herself that she shouldn't get too close or trust him since he was still a God, and he hadn't told her everything about himself. But after a while she started thinking that maybe being the Bride of this God wasn't so bad. Little by little, they both started spending more time together and sharing more things about each other. Therefore, she couldn't help but start to develop feelings for him, which he already felt for her.
