Family Background: Sungmi grew up as the third child of the family with two older brothers. The oldest one being 7 years older and the younger one being 4 years older then her. Ever since they were young, her brothers have exelled in very thing they did, and as the youngest their parents had high expectations of her. They pushed her when it came to studies and for free-time activities. Her oldest brother did well in music and dance while her other brother did well in both soccer and swimming. Her brothers being Lee Sungmin and Lee Sungjin. Everyone in the neighborhood knew who they were and wanted to be friends with them.

Her parents wanted her to do something worth-while in her freetime so they signed her up for martial arts training: Tae Kwon Do, Wu Shu, Kung Fu and Capoeira. The training was hard and tiering, but at some point it became a very fun thing to do. She even teached Sungmin and Sungjin some moves. Sungmi haven't been on close terms with her brothers because they were older than her and they were, well boys! But as they got older they became closer than ever. When she was 6 years old their family moved to Seoul to live while their father Lee Chunhwa established two companies: SendBill and Network Mania in which he was (and still is) the CEO. 

When Sungmin was 15 (Sungmi was 8 at that time) he partisipated in SM Youth Best Contest and won the first place for Best Outward Appearance. He then signed a contract with SM and became a trainee. Sungjin on the other hand decided to train on his soccer skills and joined his schools soccer club. So Sungmi was left alone at home and she studied hard in school since Chunhwa wanted her to take over the companies when she got older. Sungmi didn't want that, but didn't say anything since she didn't want to let him down. But she soon found out what she really wanted to do: she wanted to follow her brother Sungmin and do music. 

The reason was: when she was 13 she was walking home from school, but she got a little lost on the way and ended up in a place where people had competitions. It was for rapping, in other words underground rapping. Sungmi was amazed by the people, the lyrics and beats they made, even the music some of them had composed themselves. She sayed there almost the whole night. She was scolded severally by both Chunhwa and Sungmin. They were very worried about her, but she told them the truth. She wanted to be a rapper, her father laughed and said she was too young to know what she wanted. She got upset and ran to her room. Sungmin and Sungjin both went to her room to comfort her, but she wanted to be alone. Sungmin knew how she felt since Sungmin wanted to be a singer at that age too and spoke to Chunhwa and their mother (I don't know her real name so I'll name her Eunkyung) Eunkyung. Then they realised that they couldn't controll her anymore and shold give her the same freedom as Sungmin and Sungjin. So Chunhwa and Sungmi made a deal, that if she was accepted into a company she could do music. It didn't matter which one. But she had three chances or else she would have to succeed their companies.

When she was 15 she auditioned for JYP. There she met Ravi and they realised they had a lot in common. The biggest one being that they both wanted to be rappers. When they had their respective auditions they cheered on each other. Ravi was the first one out, but he didn't get in. He was dissapointed, but he cheered Sungmi on. She got in and was so thrilled! Ravi was also happy for her, they still kept in touch and met up. They became the best of friends, like siblings.

But it wasn't long until Sungmi moved to another company, this time it was Woolim Entertainment, there she met Kim Myungsoo or also known as L and they hit it right off. They became great friends and later boyfriend and girlfriend, but they kept it secret, then later they broke up. No one knew except from the rest of Infinite and the CEO, the couple had gotten his blessings to continue. But Sungmi hadn't told either of her most precious people, her mother, father, brothers or Ravi and she feels bad about it, but you never know who could be listening in... Sungmi was actually supposed to debut with Fiestar (under LOEN, Woolim worked with them at the time before Fiestar was moved to another company), the possision Cheska now has, but she had to leave Woolim for reasons I will explain later. And thus Cheska got Sungmi's possistion.

When Ravi heard the news of her leaving Woolim, Ravi asked Saejun if Sungmi could become a trainee for Jellyfish. He said a lot of great thing about her and her rapping skills. Ravi even showed him a video of her rapping and dancing skills. On the video, Ravi didn't even know then, Sungmi both rapped AND danced at the same time, live. Her rapping was so loud and so powerful and with the music it sounded recorded. Then Ravi contacted Sungmi and told her the great news. She would be able to become a trainee under Jellyfish entertainment.

He then got a whole new respect for her when she demonstrated capoeira as a choreographed dance.

Sungjong saw her alone in the practice room and saw her dancing. He thought it was too "boyish" and as the Diva of Woolim he thought he could train her in girl group dances himself. And because of that they became close. But Sungjong, towards her is respectful and kind, he even calls her "noona" since he's born in September and she's born in February. Infinite can't understand that. Even now when she's with Jellyfish, Sungjong is still the way he was before.

Personality: Though Sungjin calls Sungmi "Mini-Minnie" she's more like Sungjin than Sungmin most of the time. But sometimes she could be like Sungmin too. Sungmi is a girl who is kind to people she's just met. She loves making new friends and rarely makes enemies, but occationly some people doesn't like her. Simply because she's Super Junior's Sungmin's sister. They usually don't like her because she doesn't want to introduce them to Sungmin. People before just "befriended" her because they thought they could have a "shot" with him, and becasue of that she's been more careful when choosing friends.

Mostly you'll see Sungmi smiling and laughing. She's a person who enjoys life and sees the positive. Even with the stressfull life she's had, she still manages to smile and pretend nothing of it happened. Most people wouldn't be able to accomplish(?) that feat. Sungmi, when she's in trouble (about to get scolded or anything of the like) she does aegyo. She, alike to Sungmin have undefeatable aegyo. Not even Sunny's aegyo could beat Sungmi's aegyo. Then people would let her go, then when she get's away she laughs quietly and runs away and think: "Mission accomplished!". 

Sungmi can be serious at times, especially when she's training. Then she won't look at anything else and just focus on her rapping and dancing. Sometimes she even forget's to eat, which has caused her to be sick a few times. One day when she was training, the rest of the trainees had a joint training. They all learned the same choreography and were to perform it in front of the CEO, VIXX, Seo In Guk, Brian Joo (when he was in Jellyfish), Sung Sikyung and the other people having a contract with Jellyfish. Then she was so serious in getting the choreography right that she forgot to eat and only drank water. Then when she danced she was so nervous and she was dizzy, but she still managed to dance until it was done. Everyone applauded and Sungmi out.

Ever since then, Ravi has been looking out for her and will bring her food when she practices. She fell like she don't deserve his kindness. She's very humble and thinks of others before herself, which is why she doesn't really take care of her own body well. She's a perfectionist, wich my not be all good. She gets in arguments and quarrels a lot because people don't do thing right, the way it's supposed to be.

How did you get into Jellyfish: Sungmi got into Jellyfish through Ravi (as explained in "Family Background).
Trainee Years: 5
Trainee Life: Sungmi was a JYP trainee from when she was 15 to 17. A Woolim trainee from 17 to 18 and a Jellyfish trainee from the end of her 18th year until now (20). While Sungmi was a JYP trainee she trained to master the art of rapping. She even experimented with singing, but she sounded like a choking cat. So she stuck with rapping. she also trained to be a dancer while she was there. Then her martial arts skills came to good use, she used some of their basics in her dances. She made them seem more powerful and a lot more boy-ish, so she didn't fit for a girl group.  But they kept her as a background dancer, always promising her that she would be able to debut. But they didn't and Sungmi was tired of the empty promises and left JYP.

She soon joined Woolim entertainment and it was instantly better. She developed her rapping and got better at girl group dances with the help of Sungjong. She even got a boyfriend who helped her with everything she needed help with. Though the relationship was a secret that didn't stop them from going out (with disguises(?)) and love each other. Then Sungmi was set to debut, but because of sassaeng's Sungmi had to leave Woolim with a heavy heart. She had caused problems for the company, Fiestar and Infinite and was upset for a very long time. L tried to get her on better thoughts, but it wasn't easy. But he managed to do it, but then again, occationly she will be in a upset mood and hard to cheer up. Eventually it became too much and left Woolim too, but at the same time she broke up with L. She felt guilty for causing problems for them all, but Sungmi and L are on good terms and are friends.

Then she got the opportunity to train at Jellyfish with the help of Ravi. She had a lot more fun at Jellyfish and she was more free to do what ever she wanted. But she trained harder when she got there, becasue she really wanted to debut soon. Still, because of all the training  she didn't take care of her body. Leo, noticed and was worried she might fall sick, and she did. She was sick a lot during that time, but she still did her best no matter what. Then the day came when she was going to perform the dance. The day before she hadn't eaten anything, neither did she eat anything for breakfast or lunch that day, she only drank water. And she fainted when the dance was over with. Ravi rushed with her to the hospital with the rest of VIXX. Now Sungmi takes better care of herself and eats regularily. At least once every three hours.
