» PERSONALITY

Mi Jung has the heart of gold. She is the female version of all the Mr. Nice Guys out there. Always helping out when anyone needs her, or even when they don't, she just likes to offer help. Bascially the "Yes Man", she can hardly refuse someone when they ask for help. For that, she gives herself minimal attention to help or please others. Often is she manipulated by the people she helps because they think she will be always there to help them. Technically she is , but it makes others take her for granted. She once rejected someone when they asked for help and they immediately thought ill of her, saying she only thinks about herself. She is humble and doesn't know much about herself, often undermining her confidence about her own abilities. She doesn't feel that she has accomplished anything in her life. With that said, she feels there isn't a need for her to stand out. 

Single handedly raised by her father, it has made her sort of boyish in terms of personality. She doesn't really like to wear short skirts and prefer pants or shorts, prefers a no make up face and loves video games. She is playful, innocent and can be immature. She loves to play games with others and just having fun. She is a down to earth person who doesn't really have much to hide in terms of her personality. She is loyal to friends and will stand up for them even if it means getting herself into trouble. She is also carefree and cheerful with people. She can be quick to anger, but she never ever holds a grudge because she finds it too tiring and troublesome to hate someone. Although she is boyish, she still respects everyone she meets. Bowing or greeting when she sees people, she believes that respect is important. She is basically chill and laid back when she is with people. This is how she acts with others now, compared to the quiet loner she was during her time at international school.

After a close mother figure died, she became a bit more caring to the others, more motherly, despite not knowing what a mother's role is. She enjoys taking care of others and seeing them smile. She makes a good listener to her friends, but doesn't really talk much about advice since she is afraid of giving the wrong ones. She's just always there for them when they need an ear. Mi Jung can also be secretive, a trait that she developed during her time at the international school. With her lowered self esteem, it became nature to her to not tell anyone about her negative feelings. She doesn't spurt out much about herself, only those who are extremely close to her know about her family, otherwise, she avoids talking about them. It's not that she is ashamed of her family, she just thinks that her background shouldn't matter to those who she is friends with. She keeps unhappy things deep in her heart and mind, only digging it out when she's alone.  

In spite of all those good things, she hates changes. It takes her a long time to adjust to change. She might get a temporary shutdown in her system and be unresponsive. She can also be quick to anger as mentioned before. This trait is most prominent when people are going into her room and changing the order of her stuff without telling her. She can be quite immature when it comes to love, of course not having dated before, she doesn't really know what to do when dating.

SM's has given the persona of the "Alluring Seraph", she has to be charming and a bit flirtatious. She can't really do flirtatious since she feels uncomfortable doing so. She follows the charming part, but doesn't do the flirtatious part. She tries to be charming when the cameras are around, but when she thinks there aren't any cameras, she goes back to her usual laid back and boyish personality. 

» BACKGROUND

After she was born, her mother left the family because of unknown reasons to this day. Mi Jung was brought up by her father single handedly. Not once did he try to give her a hard time nor did he try to make her feel bad. Despite being a caring dad to Mi Jung, his business was hard hit by a financial crisis when Mi Jung was young. They were broke and they eventually had to move away because of loan sharks. They came to live in Gangnam after a wealthy family hired Mi Jung's father as their driver. They were given a room to stay at the employer's house. The employer happened to have a son, Jong Woo who was right around Mi Jung's age, older than her by 2 years to be exact and they became close after some time. Jong Woo would teach her how to do her homework when she didn't understand and Mi Jung would lend her ear to him whenever he needed to let out his stress. 

Mi Jung and her dad moved in with the Parks when she was 9. They had a peaceful life living with the Parks who treated them like family. A year later, Jong Woo's mom had a sudden heart attack  that took her life. It brought grief to the Parks and also Mi Jung and her dad, for Yi Joo had been a wonderful mother figure to her. Despite Yi Joo's passing, the Sons still lived at the Parks' house. Mi Jung was now the one who filled in for Yi Joo. No one ever told her to do it, but she just did. She cooked, cleaned and washed the dishes.

When she was 13, her father had finally saved up enough money to send her to an international school, hoping that she could better education. Instead, she had a hard time adjusting to the new curriculum and people. Her classmates' achievements and background made her lower her self esteem. She became the quiet type after that, only making a few friends despite being kind. At the age of 15, she was casted by an SM manager when she stopped to buy spicy rice cakes at a food stall. Mi Jung signed the contract and worked hard to balance training and schoolwork. She became fluent in English after receiving more English lessons at school and at SM.

» THE BASICS

» PERSONALITY

He comes off as the goofy and cheerful leader of Shinee. Once the camera is not in sight, he is more of a quiet person who likes to sleep and watch TV in the dorm. He is incredibly polite and respectful to every person he meets, bowing everytime he sees them. He can be quite clumsy and seldom trips or hurts himself accidentally. The "Onew Condition" is real though. His accidents aren't deliberate. He sometimes just comments at the wrong time and makes the atmosphere drop below freezing. However, there are times he can also be funny. He is always thinking of jokes (lame) and punchlines to make others crack up and smile. 

He is caring and a good listener. Being the eldest in Shinee, he feels he has the burden to take care of his dongsaengs and lead them well. They all come to him for advice and talk to him, he just listens and gently leads them without forcing them to make rash decisions. Because of the burden of being a leader, he rarely opened up about his own feelings before, not wanting to disturb others. But now, he sometimes talks to s and asks them for advice. 

He is the type of person who hides his pain and problems for he doesn't want to burden others. He usually puts a big smile on his face to cover up.

» INTERACTIONS

They treat each other like any best friend would treat each other. Though Onew is calm off screen, he finds himself more talkative when Mi Jung is with him. They tease each other, bicker and make sarcastic comments. She often pulls lighthearted jokes on Onew who just brushes it off with a laugh. He thinks it is a good way to make him relieve stress and asks her to teach him so he could do it to her one day. She just grins and teaches him. They exchange lame jokes, challenging each other to who can become the "King of Lame Jokes". Mi Jung is careful about words, so she doesn't accidentally hurt his feelings.

It is Mi Jung who starts initiating skinship first (too close to Lee Jong Suk who loves skinship) since she thinks there is nothing wrong with it like play biting or holding his hands to which he mostly becomes shy about. But after sometimes, Onew becomes the dominant one, surprising Mi Jung. Mi Jung calls him by his real name instead of his stage name.
