TRAINEE LIFE: Trainee life was tough on So Eun. She isn't particularly good at dancing and someone was always better than her in singing. HOW YOU GOT IN: When So Eun was 16, she joined a weekly singing competition in Dongdaemun just to try it out. She was so nervous that she sang the wrong lyrics to the chorus, no one seemed to notice her mistake because she was so into the song. She didn't win anything of course, she was just an amateur. After the competition, a man in a suit approached her, she evaded him and quietly walked away. The strange man in the suit persisted and she ran as fast as she could. Half an hour of running, the man finally caught up to her, persuaded and casted her. True story of how she got casted by an SM manager.
A few years of training at SM, she was supposed to debut in their latest girl group, but SM decided not to include her in the lineup, she decided to change to Star Empire instead. For one month of leaving SM, no company actually wanted to take her in because they didn't find her voice appealing. Later, Star Empire had accepted her and focused more on her dancing than singing.
