Jung Ri is highly intelligent and possesses the ability to understand and predict human behaviour. Traits she had developed ever since she was just in grade school. She loves to observe people and their movements so she can make deductions on what types of people they are. With her skills to understand others, she uses it to good friends with people. With that, she is great at socializing with others. She likes to give love, support and a good time to other people. She is focused on understanding, supporting and encouraging others. She tries to make things happen for her friends and helps with a sincere heart. Jung Ri is a hardworking and works hard to get what she wants. A bit of a perfectionist, she can be a bit naggy.

However, since her people skills are extraordinary, she has the ability to make people do what she exactly wants them to do. She gets under people skins just to get the reaction she wants from them. She can use her words and her actions to get others to do what she wants, without them knowing. Her motives are usually unselfish, but over time, she does use her people skills to manipulate others when she feels there is the need. Though she can be straightforward and honest with her opinions and advice on her friends, she is a fun person to be with. She is chill, laid-back and kind of sarcastic.

Although she has many friends, she can barely call any her "best friend". She has a good relationship with her friends, but she can be insecure. She can be mistrustful to others, despite being loyal and helpful to friends and family. She is secretive and hard on herself. She has dark thoughts about herself when she is alone. She is secretive because she thinks people are going to use it on her when the time comes.

On stage, she is incredibly cheerful personality who gives a lot of fan service and witty comments. When she is in the mood, her aegyo comes out. Well, she naturally full of aegyo, she'll have many cute movements that even herself doesn't know. When she does aegyo deliberately, it's more of an "excessive" aegyo and makes one want to "hit" her, kinda like Sunny's aegyo. 

When she was born, she was immediately sent to the adoption centre because her parents didn't want her. There, she grew up normal though, under the name Mi Hyun. At the of 6, she was adopted by a young couple who couldn't have children on their own.They were kind parents but they lived in Japan. They only stopped by Korea to see if they coud find the perfect daughter and they did. They even gave her a new name, Jung Ri which she treasured and it became her name ever since.

Ever since she was young, Jung Ri never knew what she wanted to do in the future. Even when her adoptive parents asked her, she never gave them the answer. When she was 12, they moved back to Korea and settled there. At that time, she figured wanted to learn how to really sing for her parents always praised her singing. To her, her voice just wasn't polished enough. Her parents supported her decision and got her into SM Academy. There she learned to be fluent in English and other skills needed to be a good singer.

At the age of 15, her vocal teacher told her to audition for SM Entertainment. She was actually rejected for quite a number of times because her voice wasn't very "SM", she already failed during the first round. One time, she helped a man up when he fell down. That man turned out to be Lee Soo Man. He asked her to audition right on the spot and she got accepted as a trainee. However, trainee life wasn't very easy for Jung Ri. She became insecure with her singing because the skills of the people there were overwhelming, so she trained in other aspects as well, such as acting and modelling. However, most of her attention was focused on dancing.

He comes off as the goofy and cheerful leader of Shinee. Once the camera is not in sight, he is more of a quiet person who likes to sleep and watch TV in the dorm. He is incredibly polite and respectful to every person he meets, bowing everytime he sees them. He can be quite clumsy and seldom trips or hurts himself accidentally. The "Onew Condition" is real though. His accidents aren't deliberate. He sometimes just comments at the wrong time and makes the atmosphere drop below freezing. However, there are times he can also be funny. He is always thinking of jokes (lame) and punchlines to make others crack up and smile. 

He is caring and a good listener. Being the eldest in Shinee, he feels he has the burden to take care of his dongsaengs and lead them well. They all come to him for advice and talk to him, he just listens and gently leads them without forcing them to make rash decisions. Because of the burden of being a leader, he rarely opened up about his own feelings before, not wanting to disturb others. But now, he sometimes talks to s and asks them for advice. 

He is the type of person who hides his pain and problems for he doesn't want to burden others. He usually puts a big smile on his face to cover up.He can be shy around girls. Despite being shy, he wants to lead a relationship like a real man and prefers to be the one to initiate the dates. He is also shy about physical contact with the girl he likes.

Jung Ri and Onew are good friends ever since they met at the SM Academy. They know a lot about each other and often hang out when they are not busy with schoolwork. Onew is one of the few people that Jung Ri actually trusts since she clearly knows his kind and caring personality. Although Jung Ri knows how to manipulate Onew, she refrains herself from doing so because she thinks it's not nice to him who always put his trust in her. 

The two of them constantly bicker for fun and make sarcastic comments and jokes when they are around each other. Jung Ri despite being straightforward is really careful with words when she knows Onew is being sensitive. Jung Ri and Onew like to compete with each other, they have lame joke competitions and challenge each other for video games. The two occasionally like to watch a good horror movie together and Jung Ri tries to scare Onew during the film to which Onew sometimes does the same for payback.
