it's scary

Um, hey.

so yeah, my exam is on sunday (15th) and... as usual, some crisis has to crop up.

See, my parents and I are at my grandma's (paternal) house in kyoto and she's been living there for a long while now with grandpa. Grandpa is visiting one of my uncles right now and so yeah.

So she hasn't been well for a while, she's been having a lot of weak-bone problems and she couldn't walk for a while. So with a lot of medication and stuff she improved. She could walk by herself. Even last night everything was fine.

But last night when she went to the bathroom, she kind of slipped and fell. She's fallen on a lot of occassions before so it wasn't a huge surprise. She wasn't hurt. But she said her head hit the wall.

My mom and I looked at her head and well... there wasn't any bruise or anything. We were kinda relieved. ^^' Grandma was pretty okay too.

But this morning she woke up late - so my mom told her to brush her teeth and come eat breakfast. And then Grandma asked "Where do I go to brush my teeth?"

It kinda alarmed us. Still, we thought it was just grandma being sleepy.

But then really, she started scaring us. After breakfast mom and I asked her a lot of questions about home and some of my grandma's old relatives and friends to see if she remembered. Of course she did. But then she started talking about stuff like "Is my sister coming home to eat with us?" and "What a big house this is!"

Seriously, it's scaring me. She remembers me. She remembers mom and dad and all of her relatives. But she thinks she's living in her hometown - hokkaido. Just now she asked me where the pond was. There's no pond nearby.

She keeps telling my mom that there's a man watching TV behind the toilet. It's kinda funny but scary.

She says the people in TV are talking to us. And then she tells me "Don't look at them."

What happened?! I mean, the last time she was like this was after her heart surgery in 2010. But that was cuz she had a lot of anaesthetic and stuff. This is so sudden.

I'm scared. I'm more scared cuz mom tells me that her grandpa (my great-grandpa) used to talk like this a few days before he died.

I dunno, the only thing I want, is for her to die when she does,  without suffering any pain.

I also have a phobia of death.

... Sorry for the long thing.. I just needed to get it out now that I've banned Facebook for a while until my exams.

My grandmother has the same problem, and it's been nearly a year now. She's forgetful, like a lot. Sometime, she woke up from sleep and asked me who am I. There's also time when she suddenly asked about someone who's already dead. She can also see things and people that weren't there, not in my sight, or people who had long gone. She talked to someone whom I can't see, sometimes she got mad if I said there's no one beside her.

It scared the hell out of me at first, but my mom said that those are the symptom of Alzheimer. She forgets things from time to time, and then there's hallucination where she see things that aren't exist. It saddened me, and it's tiring too because sometimes she got out of control and turns into someone I don't know.

Your grandmother could be expriencing the same problem, or she might just have a concussion. Have you take her to the doctor yet?

...She might have a concussion?
I would look at where she hit her head again, and definitely call the hospital if she starts vomiting.
