I'm back from the dead: I've severely neglected this site - mostly because of my University course. It's too difficult and really requires a LOT of time. So while I still squeeze in time in the dead of night to watch anime and read some manga and for some TV shows, writing is almost next to (if not completly) impossible. Because I really need a lot of time to think, when I'm writing. And all this time gap from since when I last wrote something isn't helping xD

Oh, in other words, an almost incurable case of writer's block xD
I have 6 oneshot story drafts in a folder gathering dust #_____#
That said, my exams ended around a week ago aaaaand results will be back only in August which means I have a two month BREAAAAAAAK. I'm going to schedule my writing slots so that I can get rid of those drafts and finish some really OLD stories which are... unfinished xD

 

Why I'm going to quit designing for AFF users: Well, one obvious reason would be that right now, I'm horribly out of touch with my designing skills xD Goddamn it's been TOO ING LONG. So... true that those can be polished anytime but... I've lost my drive to design for AFF users. The reason is as follows :<
I used to really love designing for customers once I learned the art. As I got better at it I used to see each customer's request as a challenge and in the end seeing them happy with what I present them made me REALLY REALLY happy. I'm sure other designers can relate. When I opened up my own shop too - I was elated because... even though designing artwork for users on this site amounts to nothing much for someone who sees it as just a hobby, I enjoyed it and it made me feel like I had a priceless talent xD That's nothing bad though - people need motivation like that T^T
But my last batch in my shop that I designed nearly a year ago AHAHAHA fml severly frustrated me lol. Somehow it was like - no matter how many rules I established so that work would be easier for me and the customers, few followed them xD How many times did I get requests for re-dos? For reasons like "The color doesn't match... that picture of baekhyun isn't good enough...I don't like the way you did that..."
True - you have to keep the customer's desires at the forefront but in the end a designer designs the poster with his/her own skills and talents. That will quite obviously lead to a style - the designer's own style. So you have two jobs - fulfill the requester's wishes to the best of your abilities AND make the design your own.

Somehow for me, when my designing skills got better - there were quite a few people who were unsatisfied. Anyways - I like to establish my own niche. I have certain ideas and certain ways of carrying out those ideas and xD I liked to stay away from popular trends when it came down to this particular hobby of mine - because there were many others to do that. I had my own style - it didn't suit some people, unfortunately. When I rejected redo requests for silly reasons, some didn't use the poster. Or used it for a day and then requested elsewhere. So can you imagine how irritated I was?

I don't know if this has happened to other designers, or maybe just me xD Sadly, that destroyed my love for designing for other people.
If I design again - it'll most likely be just for my own stories or to express a new idea.

A new design I made for myself: Sooooo, I have this story idea which is one of those 6 drafts sitting idle xD I designed this quite a WHILE ago, waaaaaaaaaaay before my exams even started and then I had to put it on hold because I hadn't even done the story for it yet. Anyways, I plan to put up that story in a couple of days, so here's the finished poster. It's been a WHILE so I don't know about my designs anymore xD ^^/
