Every now and again, people harass me for fic recs.

I've decided to just have a masterpost of my favourite/most recommended fics with lil reviews as to why you should totally read them.

 

Keep an eye on the post, cause I'll keep updating it as I see fit.

I'll organise them via pairing, list whether or not they are completed, in progress, or a one shot, and also let you know whether it has in it or not.

If I have highlighted a username of an author, it means I love everything they write.

Let's start with

 

GTOP

 

So Comes Love by i_feel_electric. (in-progress. PAINFUL FLUFF. SUCH GOOD FLUFF.)

Hard done by Jiyong is in the same routine of working too many hours at the diner, struggling to meet rent, and getting into trouble at school. If it weren't for the love of his sister Dami, he likely wouldn't attend classes at all. He's stuck in a rut of dealing with bullies (which he is more than capable of handling, in his own aggressive kind of way), schoolwork that he can't stand, people that he can't stand, and is quite frankly a mass of teenage angst. Then, a boy called Seunghyun comes alongs, and all of Jiyong's feathers are ruffled in the wrong way. Why does he even care about Jiyong's welfare anyway?

Love love love this story so far. Four chapters in, and already a definite favourite. Characterisation is incredible. You get a real feel for the history between them all, the love between Dami and Jiyong is the sweetest thing ever, and the author's portrayal of Seunghyun's awkward yet charming persistence is AMAZING. Constant feels with this fic, it's awesome. (But then again, what of this author's isn't? Just saying.)

 

The Best Is Yet To Come by i_feel_electric (complete. One-shot. . fluff. )

Seunghyun is enraptured with the neighbour who lives in the apartment building across the street. A musician struggling for his muses, Seunghyun finds his somewhat voyeuristic tendencies towards his beautiful neighbour something he both loathes and cannot resist. He doesn't know the boy, but he desperately wants to, and one night, at one of the local bars, he finally gets the chance. Things only get worse (or better) for Seunghyun, when he finds that Jiyong is just about everything he's wanted and more.

Not even overexaggerating- This is my favourite one shot of all time. Regardless of pairing, of anything like that... This takes the cake. I have read this about four million times, and I will never ever ever get tired of it. If I'm having a crappy day, or I just want some fluffy romantic feels, this swallows me whole and drowns me in a lil tidal wave of emotion. Seriously a masterpiece. Even if you don't like GTOP, I definitely recommend this fic ten times over.

 

dirty. by franticfiction (complete. one-shot. . fluff.)

Seunghyun is easily drawn in, easily enticed, by the intoxicating blonde at the bar. He sits and acts like he's unattainable, and Seunghyun is hellbent on proving that theory wrong, and taking that composure apart.

PHEW. hahaha. What can I say? I adore this fic. It's saucy, steamy, a little teasing, but I think the greatest thing is the surprise twist ending. I was completely left in the dark, but gradually lead to the light, and then BAM. I was like "WHOA! That's awesome!" Great read, great author.

 

The Sweetest Corrosion by MsNightshade (complete. . angst.)

Under the influence was always the easiest way for Jiyong to show Seunghyun his adoration. The pain only grew, however, in that Jiyong was never able to act further when sobriety was the word in play. How will Jiyong act when his confessions only seem to push Seunghyun further from his reach?

This is the fic that got me into GTOP. Also made me an awesome friend. heh. Still, this is a perfect mashup of several of my favourite things. , fluff, angst. I also love the storyline, the push and pull of emotions, and the myriad of feels that Jiyong goes through and drags us through with him. Love. Adoration. Insecurities. Hurt. EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD.

 

 

ToDae

 

How To Save A Life by Nyaori (complete. one-shot. angst)

Seunghyun reflects on some of his biggest regrets. How did a perfect relationship dissolve into something so tragic? With Daesung receiving advice from amysterious stranger, perhaps things could have a hope of resolution, before it all becomes too late.

UNNNNGHHHHH THIS KILLS ME SO BADLY.

It's incredibly beautiful. It's beautiful, it's STRONG with angst feels, and yet, it somehow leaves you afterwards, with this numb kind of feeling of peace and resolution. I will forever be a fan of Nyaori, and this story was an absolute mind blower even for him. Incredible work, regardless of how many tears were shed reading it.

 

Tonight by vocalo-genesis (in progress. . angst. fluff.)

Daesung is down on his luck. His girlfriend cheats on him, he's cast out from the people he loves, and he's hit rock bottom. That is, until Seunghyun comes along and sweeps him off his feet. Seunghyun is a multi-millionaire, along with his friend and business partner Jiyong. Both of them find solace and surprise in two scraggly kids from the lower end of the financial scale. It seems the perfect set up for your traiditional Romeo and Juliet story, sure, but how much of Seunghyun has the elder been hiding from Daesung? And how close can Jiyong handle Seungri getting to him, before his own personal hang ups tear things apart?

One of my all time favourite ToDae fics ever written ever on any site. I'd like to say I'm only biased because of how much I adore the author as a friend, but this story is the reason we became friends in the first place. Fan before friend, yo! It's all based in Vegas, based off the Tonight clip, and everything about it just makes me swoon. Every chapter has been perfection. And holy cow, do NOT get me started on how great the is. *flail*

Seunghyun's had a long day, and Daesung is always willing to look after his hyung. PWP, in which Daesung tops.

*vigorous nosebleeds* This story hits so many of my weak points. I lose my mind when Seunghyun gets topped. Just saying. This is a deliriously good one shot, ty, and a little fluffy as well. Mmmmfff. Have read and re-read this multiple times, and will continue to do so :P
