History:
As one of the only known continents that have origins of the Laguz, Tellius is where Aetius' story begins. As a hatchling as the Hawk Laguz would refer him to a baby, just like almost any other Hawk Laguz...
After the great war that reshaped the countries of Tellius and the general attitude of those living there with the rebirth of the one true goddess of creation, Ashunera, things seemed to be progressing well towards a happy ending that everyone desired... While Begnion was certainly still largest country of Beroc that still had a long way to even accept the Laguz as who they were, the dawn was bright for all. And especially for those of the Laguz, slavery illegal throughout the continent as they were finally able to take a deep breath and truly flourish as a people. An example of that general contentment that was settling over the land was that in Phoenicis, the home of the Hawk Laguz, a young couple started a small family. Just a few hatchling, two children of the names Aetius and Altair.
From the start, things were already obvious between the two siblings that they were very much different, both in appearance as Aetius took more after robustness of their mother's heritage while Altair had the sharpness of their father's. And while Aetius was one of those hatchlings that would wrestle and fight over the very scraps of food or whatever that came to him, Altair would rather much simply watch and wait for his opportunity. So it should be no surprise that things were a bit tense between them, especially once they started to grow up and began to socialize beyond just their nest and their family. Aetius was always in the center of the crowd, a loud and energetic person who wouldn't want to do anything with just sitting down and waiting - Altair was the very opposite. One had the power needed to hunt, the other had the calculating mind and keenness needed to truly utilize that potential. Things just seemed to never be enough for Aetius however, and for quite a while, he started to envy Altiar and the praise that he would often get from the elders. His younger brother was cunning and knew when to hold his tongue, Aetius obviously couldn't and certainly didn't have the control to resist just doing whatever he wanted to - following what the older Laguz said was often seen as boring to him and there was no way he was going to let himself get that easily bored.
What affected Aetius more than anything, and ultimately led to the very path that would lead him to fly away from Phoenicis was the stories he heard. Stories of those beyond the Laguz's island, of the mainland where wingless humans called Beroc didn't fight with talon and beak, but with weapons and magic. It sounded just so... Enticing, exciting, amazing, and especially epic for the young Aetius then, who barely even knew how to fly for any longer than a few minutes of fluttering and hovering around on the trees. But nevertheless, his heart was already full-fledged and he didn't want to wait for anything than that siren call of adventure just beyond the rocky shores of the island. Aetius was especially young then, he certainly didn't exactly care about any consequences because the blood pumping through his body was what he thought was of invulnerability, just like any other youngster his age then. So with a clear and yearning goal in mind, he weighed his options between staying with the rest of the Hawk Laguz or striking out on his own towards the mainland, and without exactly thinking it through, he decided to take the latter option as relations between him and the older Hawk Laguz wasn't progressing anywhere but down to the ground.
So as it was more of a split-second opportunity that suddenly appeared as he and the rest of the young Hawk Laguz were simply practicing riding around on the thermals and the winds in Phoenicis, Aetius simply decided to veer towards the mainland without any second thought to that. He was so supremely confident in his abilities and the favorable winds then that he thought he could just soar all the way there - it was so simple to his mind then. But reality has a harsh way of slapping anyone in the face, and especially a still fledging Hawk Laguz who suddenly found himself flapping for his life right in the middle of the strait as there was nothing else he could then keep pressing on. The promise of fun and adventure just on the horizon was so close, the shame of going back to Phoenicis in shambles and being laughed by everyone else (especially Altair) only made Aetius just continue to press forward...
He wasn't exactly sure how he managed to get onto land. The only thing he knew was that all of a sudden, he found himself shifted back to his human form and sprawled on sandy beaches that felt so soft to him... And then suddenly grabbed and bound before being thrown into a cold, hard and dark place before he could even recover his senses. For the next days, weeks, years maybe, that was where Aetius was. Eventually, he regained his senses, but couldn't make sense of anything at all - he saw wingless humans giving him meager portions of food before shutting him up in this tiny and dank place, but Aetius did not understand anything. Not until he tried to escape and that was when his life turned for the worse into hell. Because by then, Aetius was little more than a savage animal; anyone would be, if they were locked up and isolated in the worse conditions for them and especially for him since the need to be free was so strong that one day, he simply shifted with the built up rage inside of him and began to trying to tear his way out of the room that he was kept in.
Things did not go his way. For Aetius was in a blind rage then, the only thing he can still clearly remember from that time through the red haze was suddenly being struck down with a force that left him breathless before this acidic twisting in his stomach that forcefully deshifted him. And then, the pain. The pain that lashed across his face and left him blinded by his own blood so terribly that he couldn't even twitch his face at all for the next month or so. It didn't stop there though as that pain became some that embraced Aetius deeply in its agony, that for a while, he couldn't even imagine of a time that he wasn't in pain somehow. Oh, he knew what they were doing then, even through the fog of pain - they were trying to break his spirit so that he would never do that ever again. Aetius might not have known who exactly what keeping him like this, but he never allowed them to do that. The whip might be cracked across his back and against his wings, but all he would do was just laugh manically and grin at them with the most animalistic smirk he could give with a bloody face. He WOULD NOT break, not when he could see the light breaking in through the only tiny barred window in his room. Because for as long as the day continued to rise, he would keep fighting.
Time then flowed for him at an unnatural pace, lost in the pain to the point that once the door creaked open again, he didn't even exactly process what was happening. Instead of a whip cracking against the ground, there was gasps and the general uneasy murmurs skittering around him before with the lightest and gentlest touch that he had ever felt, Aetius felt himself carried out of the room. And for the first time ever since he fell on the sands of Tellius' mainland, he was again in the sun, albeit little more than a skeleton covered in broken feathers and wounds all over his body. The scars on his face are the testimony of just how terrible the infliction were on him, even with their best healer, they were too deep to ever truly fade away. From then as he was nursed back to health in a tent outside (at his request, Aetius wanted nothing more with buildings for a long, long time), that was when he began to find out what was going on all around him: He had been taken by a slave gang secretly operating under the nose of the Begnion senate with still retaining Laguz slaves, and those who had saved him was the Shephards, though they were unable to capture the slavers themselves. A good group of volunteers, who went around for the exact purpose of bringing justice and restoring goodness to the world.
And so, even though he was eternally grateful for their help and support, Aetius did not join them when they offered him the chance to. He just couldn't, because he knew that he was a high-flyer, someone who wouldn't be tied down to anywhere or anyone. Instead, he took to the skies again, after doing what he could to help the Shephards out while he recovered, and then aimed to truly start pursing that dream he always had of adventure. Now much more wiser and fully matured, Aetius was no fool as he was when he first set out, initially finding work with other Laguz before seeking work of some sort that would offer him the adventures and excitement that he always wished of. Nothing was better than being a messenger, those he asked told him when Aetius inquired about it, and from then on, that was exactly what he orientated himself towards. And indeed, it did give him the freedom that he needed, but the direction he wanted to accomplish and satisfy that curious thirst for experience that he had. Being a messenger offered him new horizons, new lands, new people, new experiences... He met new people everyday, tasted the elixir of freedom to its potential and soared among the clouds - he was never again going to be held down by any earthly bonds, but always still managed to keep in touch with the Shephards whenever they needed anything, whether that be of his help or simply to talk to him of something.
Onwards to his years after those, that was when Aetius started to really experience the world for what it was, always ready to use his job as simply a leverage point in order to accomplish adventures that he would have never known about. Ask him about Ylisse, and he'll know it just as well as Tellius, and quiz him about where certain cities are and he'll be able to immediately point it without even hesitating. And along the way in those adventures, Aetius has seen more people than he would rather ever care about, but a few have stuck to him like tar on feathers for a lack of better words. Especially a surprisingly small Hawk Laguz named Haru, who seemed to immediately cling to Aetius while the older Laguz had no clue of who the kid even was - turned out that Haru had idolized Aetius when he was still a child to the extent that he too flew off the island when he came to Aetius' age. Bad decision on his part, but now that he found his childhood idol, Haru certainly isn't letting go and Aetius can't help but feel a bit guilty that he was the reason why this poor kid is out in the world by himself like this.
Now, there are only a few Beroc that Aetius has ever really put as importance for himself - he might like them in general, but he didn't pay much attention to them if they didn't do the same to him. But there was one particular woman whom Aetius really doesn't know if he's amused or slightly annoyed by her - but he definitely knows that she's annoyed by him. This seems to go the same way for most of the Beroc who Aetius meets, but no one stands out more to him than an ex-Shephard, Tabithia, who can't seem to make her mind if she likes him for the social happiness that he brings or is irritated because he's just so damn loud.
There were also people like him roaming in the sky as well, maybe not exactly Hawk Laguz the way he was, but they fell into the same categories of jobs that Aetius did. One certain person has a very interesting history with Aetius himself, a past wveryn lord who decided that being stuck to an order that he thought was stuffy and annoying enough wasn't good enough for him, and he decided to take his own destiny and life into his hands. It was because after some miscommunication and a rough fight in the skies between Aetius and the wyvern lord, Ze'ev, that things started to solidify between them through the utterly manly way of fighting. They couldn't exact best each other, and with a new found respect, that was how they managed to form a trust and partnership in the types of jobs that they take on. And while they were fighting was when a very bored raven laguz decided to then mark Aetius as a prime target of his interest, simply amused by the fact that he now had something to keep an eye on (and secretly a messenger when he needed it). Thus, in one day, an unsignificant day if it wasn't for meeting those two, Aetius managed to get to attract the attention of two... Though he's not sure if the second one is really someone he wants to associate with that much.
Age + Birthday: 28 + 4/06
Important People:
Ze'ev | 30 | They're partners in crime, the simplest terms to put it between them. With such similar jobs and usually doing similar tasks at the same time, they've grown to know each other well over the years and usually make trade-offs whenever they do. Especially things like larger cargo, Ze'ev will carry instead since he is a dragon rider, but if he has something that needs to be delivered immediately as soon as possible, he'll give it to Aeitus. So in general, they get along quite well. | Unlike Aetius' robust personality, Ze'ev is actually extremely... Chill. Literally, almost nothing can ever get him flustered or more emotional than just a small blink and a shrug before he goes back to doing whatever he was doing before. However, even though he might seem stone quiet and unlike to ever say anything to anyone, he always has both ears and his remaining eye open for anything of interest to benefit him.
Haru | 20 | Probably the closest person to Aetius in... Practically ever since he left his homeland, Aetius can't help but very secretly admits that he really cares for this young Hawk Laguz, someone with the same dream that he had when he left. Except while he had the intimidation and power to get what he wanted, this fairly small Hawk is usually still bullied around by practically everyone whenever he tries to even do anything. Which is where Aetius comes in, always acting like an older brother or guardian figure over Haru whenever he can. He does hope that some day, Haru can accompany him on one of his trips when the kid is a bit more stronger in flight and endurance... | This kid is barely a hatchling out of the nest in the terms of the world and thus, he simply just doesn't know much of the world. He's an easy target with his big and always wide eyes, stuttering words (he can barely speak the Beroc language) and the fact that he always seems to be fluttering from place to place, skitterish of anything that even moves around him.
Tabithia | 25 | Mostly, she can't exactly seem to figure out if she's okay with him or not. He's a freeloader in her mind, always coming in, hanging out at the bar and generally making a crowd and scene around him before he just takes to the air and goes off until who knows when he'll come back. But then again, whenever he comes around to her usually sleepy town that she's in charge of, the people always seem to be happier... But they're not working and being productive! | As one of the prodigy fighters in the capitol, she decided to move out to the country side to help instead - she's just that much of a visionary and wanting to always help the less fortunate. Though the world works in black and white terms to her, and anything that disrupts that will make her terribly flustered and confused, something that she doesn't really know how to deal with except for with anger and flaring up.
Korbl | 27 | Can you say hate/love relationship? Oh yeah, these two have it all the way. Doesn't help that they have completely polar opposite personalities of each other, and especially doesn't help that Korbl loves nothing more than to taunt and prod at Aetius to make him feel like a simple brute whenever he knows that the Hawk Laguz is in a bad mood (doesn't take much to realize that anyways though). What is even worse (or maybe better too) is that as a high-ranking Raven Laguz, he always has things to be delivered that he can't do himself because... He's "noble". So at the same time that Aetius gets the best compensations and reward for delivering something, he has to deal with that arrogantly annoying Raven Laguz. | He is like the opposite of how Aetius is; while the Hawk Laguz is rough, loud and just all around boisterous, this Raven Laguz always seems to have a sly smirk just dancing at the edge of his lips, impeccable in everything he does and even has time to make fun and stalk people (of interest) when he's feeling up to a game. Generally, people don't get a good vibe from him, but whatever. He's better than most of them anyways, so he doesn't care, psh.

Personality:
First thing you must know about Aetius is that he is absolutely independent, that every feather yearns and is ruffled for freedom. Being a Hawk Laguz as he is, there is nothing that he would love more than to always venture out and experience the world, a true go-getter, often leading the way for others to follow him with his sheer bravery (or is that impulsiveness and blindness?). And for just how intimidating he looks, scars and wildness practically extruding from his every feather and pore, he has somewhat of a sociable personality at times. Aetius certainly isn't someone to reject somebody if they want to talk to him, especially when it's about what he knows about the world and the sky. Not only that, but his methods of expression is free and open - just like how his attitude on life is. Perhaps it's that taste and lure of freedom that he always extols that often entices others to follow his lead because with freedom comes the promise of excitement. But what he doesn't realize and most others don't either that most of the time, that excitement is also accompanied hand in hand with danger...
With such a public expression of himself, Aetius has no problem just saying whatever is on his mind without ever even thinking of how others can feel because of his words and his actions. It doesn't matter if it's going to hurt and that it might be unpleasant, he'll just say it without any sugar-coating and without any care as to who he is talking to. It could be his friend, the king, anyone, he'll just say what's honestly is in his head and how he feels about things. While this extreme blunt attitude can put some people off, especially those who value tradition and the social system of respecting others above their ranks, that hardly ruffles Aetius' feathers at all. Especially since to him, he doesn't consider him part of this "Earth-bound" and restrictive system that most of the Berocs live by. The only thing he will respect are those more powerful than him, and that's hard to find when he's usually the highest-flying thing in the sky. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't like being friendly with those who are willing to see him as a friend! Because as long as they know that he's going to see them and expect them to see him back as equals, Aetius has no problem with most people. Now it's more of the issue if they're going to accept him and his straight-forward and aggressive approach towards practically everything because he has no problem backlashing at people when they don't respect him.
What someone should know when they give him something to do is that Aetius will do it immediately. And literally, immediately, no waiting around, no thinking, no procrastinating... IMMEDIATELY. It's not that time is any issue to him, he just has passion for doing things right there and then without any introspection. And that is especially true when it comes to things that he is especially interested in, such as fighting, which he'll just dive into it without any thought to anything else. Even when he isn't (or can't transform), he'll still try to fight nevertheless. There is no human side to him when he starts fighting, there is only the animal inside of him left. The hawk, screaming and lashing out with talons that will dig into flesh with relish. Of course, there might be a part of him that regret being so impulsive all the time later, especially when it comes to that he can get quite offended at anything that is said to him and then his anger really becomes uncontrollable. But most of the time, he'll just shrug and move on. There's no use in his mind to dwell on things of the past as the days continue on no matter what happens on the earth and that's how he'll apply to his own life, free and independent as the wind as he is. So to see him angry and hold a grudge is really a sign that something drastic and seriously life-changing had to scar him so deeply...
It might seem amusingly annoying to know that even though Aetius is physically a strong being, his emotional side is really just untamed at all. So whenever he is given orders that he does not believe in, he'll immediately become simmeringly angry and moody before things goes his way or something has to change. If that means removing himself out of the situation, he'll do that, especially since he has a pair of ready escape tools to help him along. Because of this, it's really an explanation of how he is around most people as well, generally liked as he's sociable and open, but also sometimes resented and envied by others by the way he approaches anything difficult for him - he simply tries to fly away or throw a childish tantrum to get his way instead of trying to bear with it. However, the fact that he's like this isn't just because he's a bird laguz; he is also deeply insecure about him. There's always so many questions about what he did in the past was truly something he should have done and the overbearing need to be free that he usually puts too much pressure on himself and what he can do. For example, he'll take too many jobs at a time and then realize just what a terrible decision he made later half way in the journey. However, if he knows that it's his fault that something like that happened, he'll simply try to cover it up so that others won't know - they can't know that he's like this, that someone so utterly confident and independent like him could be weighed down by his own misdemeanor. He's a flyer, isn't he supposed to be flying over everyone's head because he can?
However, there are a few things that can ground him sometimes and tie him invisibly to a place when he might just fly off the horizon without ever even looking back. One of them being good companions and friends, something that he won't hesitate to open show if he truly trusts and feels that way about them. It's not that hard exactly to do that, but if he even senses one speck of dishonesty or something fishy something going on, Aetius will have no qualms against just cutting the relationship right there and then. Better to stop it now at the origin than to let it spread it out? Right, especially when he certainly had more than enough experiences of when people had tried to take advantage of him, though he is still unaware of just how much he wears his heart on his sleeve. If that happens, he won't even say a good bye before simply leaving. This could also explain why he is so terrible at lying as well, his blunt honesty just shines out at all times that it can be especially discerning. Even though he might more than lacking in the emotionally caring and delicate side of a friendship relationship, he certainly has enough strength and honor in him to protect those especially weaker than him should the need ever arise, and especially enough gung-ho and optimism to get people going, As he says it to the others, "The sun always comes up after a long night. Embrace the day and always look forward!"
Likes:
Flying - Self-explanatory, right? It's like as natural and needed for him as running would be for a runner, or swimming would be for a swimmer. He just has to do it or else he starts feeling antsy and twitchy.
Missions/Quests - It's how he lives and what he does. He lives for adventure, for the thrill, for the excitement of life! The more quests and whatnots he can get, the more happier he'll be. The happiest Aetius comes from one on a mission.
Hunting/Fighting - A Hawk Laguz of course, has hawk instincts. And some of those instincts are predatory ones, which is why he enjoys fighting and rowdy play just as the next Laguz when it comes to physical fights and hunting.
Getting Drunk - A sign of manly bonding, this Hawk Laguz can probably down about eight drinks before he even gets slightly drunk. It's all because of his metabolism of course, and earns him quite a bit of respect...
Eating - Why wouldn't he love this? Guaranteed, he can probably eat someone out of their house with just how much he CAN eat and how much he eats often, but it's something that he would probably drop everything for if he heards there's a feast nearby... Unless you want him to eat the entire thing, don't ever give him a whole animal or else he WILL eat all of it.
Stories - Whether that is telling his own or listening to others talk about their experiences, his curiosity certainly hasn't been sated in the very least over the years. He'll love to listen to anything as long as it's interesting and involves experiencing the world.
Dislikes:
Enclosed Places - Goddamn it, he has a HUGE wingspan and he's taller than most people (he usually towers about a head taller)! So of course he would hate anything place that makes him hunch over or go into somewhere small...
Darkness - As a Bird Laguz, Aetius is completely helpless in the dark just as any other bird as. So of course, he would try to not do anything that even goes into darkness.
Whips - He can absolutely not stand the sight of them. Don't ever even mention them unless you suddenly want a very irritated and potentially dangerous Aetius on your hands...
Magic - It's not like he is bias against them, but considering as magic is one of his weaknesses, Aetius would rather stay very far away when it's used. Especially when it's wind magic...
Underground - That is like the epitome of what he hates: enclosed, dark and utterly no sky to look at. What better place to keep him at if you want to drive Aetius insane, which he nearly was? It doesn't bring up any pleasant memories either...
Manipulation of Words - Prose and the manipulation of words are really things he never had learned or even want to, actually. So he hardly understands sarcasm and will fall victim to a lot of mental tricks without even knowing it...
Trivia:
• He is happy to talk about any of his scars if asked since they all have their stories and adventures underneath the skin, just don't ever mention the two across his face or else he'll grow VERY eerily and scarily quiet.
• The only place he will not deliver anything or even go near to is his homeland. He hasn't been back there ever since he left, and currently has no desire ever to come back.
• He doesn't technically ever uses his vulnerabilities really... With his laguz self-healing, they're just more there just in case. Most of the time, he'll give them to others that need it more than him.
• There has been thought about settling down and raising his own hatchlings... But as soon as the image of him having to stay in one place to care for someone else comes in mind, the idea is again out the window. The only way he'll be happy in a relationship if the person wants to accompany him where ever he wants to go.
• Unlike most Laguz, Aetius harbors no grudge against the Beroc for what they did to him. He's had to meet and see so many of them that he has realized that as a whole, they're just the same as Laguz. Now if he were to meet those people who had enslaved him, that'll be a different story as long as those scars remain on his face... Which is forever.
Dream: To be able to soar through the skies without ever having to land - that can't exactly happen literally, of course, unless he wanted that to be his last flight into the sky. It means more like he wishes he could just do whatever he desires and with all the freedom that he wants more than anything else without being burdened by others and responsibilities that hold him down.

Comments?: It took the longest time to even choose which game character I wanted to make a character with... But yeah, I hope you enjoy him! He was a really fun guy to write about. :3
And seriously, I just love this character to the death. Just look at all of these fanarts of him... *^* One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine

And I don't really mind who he ends up with in a relationship, Beroc or Laguz, male or female, just as long as they work well with him and they're okay with going on adventures and whatnots with him constantly. Like on a whim sort of thing, he loves his job so they better not interfere with that too. :P

So this app is pretty good, the only thing is that I asked for the "important people" to also be mentioned in the history somewhere since if they were important the history should reflect that. But these 4 people just seem shoehorned in here. I got a grasp of how they were important from the mini bios, but it's still important to mention them in the history.

Maybe add another paragraph of his duties as a messenger? Since most of his important folks are from his job, talk about it some more. You kinda just end it with a few sentences about how it gives him freedom.

[Also for Haru, he's 16 now? So that's a 12 year difference. What age exactly did Aetius leave his home? Because I'm imagining he left while he was still very young. And if so how could he be friends with someone not born yet?]

And that's all I got~ This was a monster of an app, and some sentences sound off but it's a very good app. I get who Aetius is. And can I just say I love how his picture is standing on his name? I don't know why, but when I first saw it I laughed. XD
