description  (Simple and classy sum up Younghwa's style well and he always dresses for the occasion. However, there's one thing you won't catch him wearing often, especially not in public, and that's shorts because he's rather self-conscious about the scar running down his left calf. The only time he won't pay too much attention to what he's wearing is when he knows he'll be spending the day alone at home.

Instead of trying to keep up with the latest fashion trends he fills his closet with things he thinks he'll wear in the future too which often translates into more expensive brand name clothing (good for him that he can actually afford that stuff too). He prefers darker colors/shades (black, dark blues & greys) but isn't totally against wearing something brighter to accent his outfit.

As for anything else... Younghwa has about 13 cm long scar on his left calf from a fall down some rocks while on vacation and another shorter scar from the same incident above his right elbow. He also always wears a ring he got from his oldest brother as a birthday present on his thumb.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

persona  (the Silent Observer)

key traits  (quiet, introverted, loyal, overthinking, secretive, random )

in-depth personality  (Younghwa is shy and quiet type of person and at parties or other gatherings you're most likely to find him somewhere out of the way observing what's going on. His shyness shows especially when he meets people for the first time. He doesn’t like to take the initiative in starting a conversation. He’d rather have the other person come and talk to him than the other way round. If he actually gathers enough courage and goes to talk to someone first it means he’s really interested in that person for whatever reason.

Because of his shy and quiet nature he’s always had quite a small circle of friends. That’s why he values those close to him very much and likes spending time with them whenever he can. He’s loyal to a fault and likes to think the best of his friends (and other people too). As he's gotten older he's lost some of that naivety and blind faith in people but he's still more likely to take things at face value rather than suspect others of trying to trick him.

When Younghwa is around his friends he can be very chatty and random. He can talk about something he likes for hours. Because of this 180 degree turn in personality once people really get to know him they wonder if he really is the same boy they first met. He can suddenly decide he wants to something totally different in the middle of a conversation/practice. He’s been known to actually do that occasionally too, which leaves others standing around surprised and probably irritated. If you think befriending him is too much trouble just to get to see his random and spazzy side you can always try getting him drunk because that yield the same result. With added bonus(?) of fail!aegyo and touchiness.

One of Younghwa’s flaws is keeping things to himself too much. He doesn’t want to bother his friends or to have them worry about him too much so he doesn’t tell them about his problems. Instead, he tries to solve everything by himself which doesn’t always work. There have been times when he's actually made things worse for himself by refusing to ask for help but that hasn't made him change his ways. Those who know him well can easily tell when something isn’t right but they’ve learned it’s better to let him come to them and talk about the issue. If they try to make him talk he’s just more likely to not say a word. So you could say he can be quite stubborn when he wants to be.

He can get upset over the smallest of things and also remembers negative comments for a long time. It doesn’t matter who makes them. He’ll think about them over and over again wondering what he could’ve done better/differently. It doesn't mean he'll hold a grudge over the person who said those words; he'll just think about it himself. He can overanalyze things and worry about something for no reason. Even if he can get upset over trivial things those won’t lead him to cut ties with his friends. For Younghwa to totally cut ties with someone they have to do something that he considers very serious and offensive.)

trivia ↬ (likes: sweets, books, cats & kittens, spicy food, oolong tea, taking walks by the riverside, historical dramas (though he nitpicks on them for inaccuracies)
dislikes: coffee, cheaters, arrogant people, wearing shorts, math, scary movies, aegyo
fears: heights (Which is kind of bad considering he lives in a high rise building but he's fine as long as he's indoors. Getting him to go to a roof of a tall building, to sky dive or say bungee jump is another matter altogether.)
habits: chews on his bottom lip when he's trying to remember something, sleep talking, starts to twirl the ring on his finger whenever he gets nervous
hobbies: yoga, reading, soccer, photography
other random trivia: is a history major at university, biual, has a part-time job at a bookstore, has low alcohol tolerance, is a heavy sleeper, is very ticklish on his sides, has a pet cat called Momo)

background ↬ (Younghwa was born in Seoul to wealthy parents and he has lived in the city his whole life. He's the youngest of three brothers and when he was younger his brothers often about how he'd rather stay indoors reading than to go out and play. The parents' wealth guaranteed Younghwa and his brothers a comfortable lifestyle. Their parents didn't want the boys to turn into spoiled brats so they didn't always get what they wanted. Their mother, who's from a less privileged background, also wanted her sons to learn that money doesn't appear out of thin air. To enforce that idea she and the nannies made the boys do small chores and tasks around the house before they were given their pocket money.

The boys' education had always been arranged with the thought of them entering the family business one day. They went to good schools and received private tutoring whenever it was necessary. The boys were also taught Mandarin from a young age because their father's company does a lot of trade in China. Younghwa probably speaks and writes the best Mandarin out of the three because he's always been interested in learning languages. He's actually bit of an odd one out in his family with his interest in humanities and languages instead of science and business matters. When it was time for Younghwa to enter university he had a few small arguments and more than enough serious conversations about what he'd go to study but in the end he got to do what he wanted. Younghwa's situation was probably made easier by the fact that his older brothers were going to be working for the family business anyway and so the company's future didn't depend on what he did. If Younghwa had been an only child the situation might have been very different.

Younghwa's life was quite sheltered and normal all the way until high school. That's when he started to lose some of his naivety after seeing the way some of the other students acted. The biggest eye-opener on what people can be like happened after he had moved out to live on his own. He had been dating a girl he met in high school for about a year when he caught her on a date with another guy. His friends had warned Younghwa about the girl but he had believer her when she said she'd never do something like that. After the truth came out Younghwa felt very heartbroken and deceived for a while but over time his faith in people has returned. Aside from the cheating girlfriend the biggest change/shock in Younghwa's life came when he met his Zodiac mentor.)

lifestyle ↬ (Younghwa's been living in his own apartment (that his parents bought) in central Seoul ever since he entered university. During the days he can be found at the university attending lectures or doing coursework and about four evenings a week he's at his part-time job at a bookstore. He wouldn't necessarily need the job because his financial situation has been secured through a fund his parents set up for Younghwa and his brothers. He like the job because it gives him something to do in the evenings and he'd rather buy things like groceries with money he has earned. When he's not in school or at work Younghwa can most likely be found at a soccer practice or at home either reading or watching dramas.)

family
Older brother Ahn Youngjae | 25 | accountant | serious, hardworking, protective, detail-oriented, stubborn | Younghwa looks up to his brother and usually treats him with respect. Sometimes he'll turn into an annoying little brother and teases Youngjae about whatever he can think of. Youngjae likes to tease his brother about his love of books but it's nothing serious. He still looks after Younghwa too and his older brother is the person Younghwa goes to when he needs help or advice. I guess you could say they're quite typical brothers with how they act around each other.

friends
Best friend Kim Ryeowook | 24 | secretary | friendly, kind, helpful, sensitive, understanding, patient | Younghwa acts his usual self around Ryeowook and isn't afraid of letting his random side show. Ryeowook is friendly and playful around Younghwa. At first he was startled about the younger one's random side but he's gotten used to it by now. Ryeowook isn't afraid to tell Younghwa off if he thinks that's necessary but he'll do it in a polite way as not to hurt the other's feelings.
Close friend Cho Jaejin | 21 | student | hotheaded, blunt, outgoing, sociable, talkative, fearless | Younghwa is a little wary of Jaejin because he's seen how angry he can get. It wasn't pretty and he'd rather not get yelled at so he tries not to be too annoying even when he's feeling more random. Jaejin tries to keep his temper in check whenever he's around Younghwa but he'll still be blunt and speak his mind. The two have had their share of arguments and fallouts but in the end they talk and make up. They're bit of an odd pair as friends but that might be part of why they've managed to stay friends.

rivals/enemies
enemy Sehun | 132 | being a Zodiac | arrogant, lazy, childish, obnoxious, bratty, sneaky | Younghwa has been suspicious about Sehun from the moment he learned about Sehun's power and sees only all the possible negative aspects of invisibility. He feels like he has to be constantly on his guard if he wants to keep his privacy and that irks him. And Sehun's personality isn't helping the situation at all. | Younghwa does his best to avoid Sehun whenever he can. When they meet he tries to remain polite but sometimes Sehun just makes him snap. Sehun isn't making the situation any better by speaking rudely to Younghwa or sending sneers his way. Sehun also likes to turn invisible and sneak up on Younghwa scaring the living daylights out of the other by turning visible behind him when he least expects it.

zodiac ↬ (Horse)

animal  (Lay)

talisman/tattoo  (Lay wears his talisman as part of a bracelet and got his tattoo on just below his right collarbone.)

personality  (Lay is kind and helpful person. Compared to some of the other Zodiacs he might be quiet but that's just the way he is. He doesn't think he's funny but he makes others laugh anyway. They might be laughing more at his spaced out expressions or his odd behavior than his words though. Getting lost in his own thoughts is probably Lay's biggest fault and he can be a little forgetful at times too so it's not surprising if some people consider him to be an airhead.)

relationship  (Lay acts the same way around Younghwa as he acts around everyone else. He can get a little irritated with Younghwa at times if his questions derail his train of thoughts but he doesn't let his irritation show. At first he got annoyed about Younghwa's random disappearances but he figured he can't be too critical when he has a habit of spacing out himself.

Lay really tries to be a good teacher and as long as he can stay focused he'll explain and show Younghwa how his power works. Unfortunately half the time he gets lost in his own thoughts and forgets Younghwa is even there. Then there's also the issue with Younghwa sometimes vanishing randomly to do something else which helps to explain why their progress isn't as fast as it could be.)

first meeting  (Lay and Younghwa met for the first time one night when Younghwa was walking home together with Jaejin from dinner. He saw Lay wonder around looking lost and told Jaejin 'good night' before going to check out if Lay needed help. Turned out Lay was looking for a subway station and since Younghwa knew where it was he gave Lay the instructions on how to get there. He continued on his way but for some unknown reason (maybe fate?) turned back around to see if Lay was heading in the right direction. It was a good thing he did because Lay seemed to be wondering off the wrong direction again so Younghwa just caught up with the other man and walked with him to the station. During the walk they spoke a little and that's how everything started for them.)

back-up zodiac ↬ (Suho)

back-up animal  (Tiger)

back-up talisman/tattoo  (Suho wears his talisman on a necklace and has his tattoo on the inside of his right ankle.)

back-up personality  (Suho belongs to the more sweet and kind part of the Zodiac too. He's very graceful and has an aura of patience around him which makes him easy to approach. He'll try to solve arguments with conversation instead of destruction but especially with the Zodiac that doesn't always work. It's rare to see him get truly angry but when he does he can be quite frightening which doesn't always mean much in the grand scheme of things. When things truly go wrong despite all his efforts he'll still be around afterwards to help pick up the pieces.)

back-up relationship  (Most of the time Suho is patient and kind around Younghwa. However he does get annoyed about Younghwa's disappearing tricks and isn't as lenient as Lay is about the issue. Suho has scolded the other man about them on numerous occasions but that hasn't stopped Younghwa from running off from time to time. The one thing Suho can take comfort in is the fact that nowadays Younghwa at least looks apologetic when he meets Suho for the next time after disappearing.

Suho is probably one of the best teachers one can have among the Zodiacs. He's patient and doesn't mind answering any questions Younghwa might have. Younghwa's disappearing tricks slow down the teaching process at times, but it isn't nearly as bad as with Lay.)

back-up first meeting  (Suho knows Younghwa's eldest brother. He often heard Youngjae talk about his younger brother and thought the kid might be a good successor. One day Suho asked Youngjae if he could meet Younghwa and eventually his brother agreed to arrange a meeting. Younghwa was unsure about the meeting but decided to trust his brother's judgment and so one day Suho and Younghwa met at a cafe near the latter's work place and things went on from there.)

tattoo  (Younghwa has the tattoo on the inside of his left wrist)

in character
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do you think you were chosen as the next Zodiac?  (I would like to think I was chosen because of my personality. I'm calm and collected most of the time and can also pay attention to little things someone else might miss. Maybe my mentor also thought it'd be good to pick someone who's seemingly more rational and sane to balance out all the crazies and weirdoes in the group.)

How do you feel being a successor of a Zodiac?  (I'm feeling terrified and honored at the same time. Terrified because having this kind of power over the world is way more responsibility than I ever thought I'd have. I didn't even want to get involved in the family business because I felt like I wasn't suitable to have any sort of leadership position and then this happened. Then there's this other part of me that's feeling very honored about being chosen. I just hope my mentor picked me because he thought I'd be suitable for the position, not just because I helped him or something.)

How do you feel about your Zodiac mentor?  (I find him to be very, ummm, interesting. I'm also amazed how kind and polite (and sane) they have remained considering the company they're had for the last hundred years or so. I find my mentor's spacey behavior endearing and in a way it reminds me of myself. In short, I'd say I've grown to like my mentor very much over the years.)

What is the Animal like to you?  (The Animal usually talks to me in a polite manner. They can be quite demanding and scary when they want to be though. Honestly, the first time the Animal talked to me I almost had a heart attack. It came as a surprise even though I had talked about the matter with my mentor and I actually squealed out loud in the middle of a movie theatre. I've gotten more used to the connection over time but sometimes I wish the Animal would pay attention to what situation I'm in before talking. But I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.)

What will you do with the powers once you are an actual Zodiac?  (At first I might test my powers just a little to see how well I can do on my own. After that I think I'd only use the powers when it's necessary.)

Would you sacrifice yourself for the balance of the world?  (If it means that those I care about and cherish the most would get to live, then yes. Yes, I would.)

scene requests ↬ (Some (or all if you want to) of the current Zodiacs and their protégés have a party and Younghwa is one of the people who gets drunk. In his drunken state he gets touchy-feely with Sehun out of all people before Sehun has time to turn invisible and disappear. The next morning Younghwa doesn't remember anything but the others are giving him weird/amused looks and Sehun seems confused. A certain someone *coughChencough* acts all smug about the whole thing and eventually flat out asks Younghwa what the deal with him and Sehun is. xD I'd also imagine Chen would never let Younghwa (or Sehun for that matter) forget what happened so once in a while he'll offer some kind of reminders for the two.)
