personality; He may look cute and innocent but in his case looks are somewhat deceiving. He has a sharp tongue and he isn’t afraid to speak his mind regardless of who he’s with. His bluntness and pranks that he likes to pull tend to get him in trouble. He’s not beyond using his cuteness (with extra help of aegyo) to his advantage either to get away from doing something he doesn’t want to do or to get something he wants so you could call him a little sneaky and calculating too.
On the plus side he’s very sociable and likes meeting new people. He likes hanging out with his friends but even if he’d rather be out having fun with them he does know when it’s time to work and act serious. When he really wants to achieve something he drops his childish act and becomes very focused and hardworking spending hours on end at the practice room honing his skills. He’s quite touchy with those closest to him even sober and it gets worse when he drinks.

background; Jaejin was born and raised in Daegu where his parents own a small but successful restaurant. Jaejin’s parents are hardworking and down to earth kind of people who have let their children find their own path in life. The family business guaranteed them a steady income and a comfortable lifestyle. The children didn’t always get what they wanted but there also never was a serious lack of anything they really needed. Because Jaejin’s the baby of the family by quite a large margin (7 years younger than his sister, 10 to his brother) everyone gave him a lot of attention and they also spoiled him quite a lot, his grandmother being the worst. Jaejin's life has been ordinary with no major happenings. The biggest change in his life so far has been moving to Incheon to live with his brother and be closer to the entertainment companies.
education; He was bit of troublemaker in school pulling pranks and not really paying attention at the lessons unless he liked the subject. He viewed school as a necessary evil and often only did the minimum required to pass.
music; It’s all his sister’s fault, really. She used to watch a lot of music shows on TV when she was babysitting Jaejin and she’d often talk about how amazing, cool etc. the artists and the idols seemed. Because Jaejin wanted to be all those things too in his sister’s eyes he started to put on small performances just for her. What started as kind of a game for Jaejin later lead to him starting dance and music lessons in order to really become an idol.

experience; he had a huge crush on one of his classmates in junior high school but that never lead to anything. when he started high school he dated a senior for about seven months and after they broke up he's been single.

how did you become a yg trainee?; Third time was the charm for him in auditioning; before passing he had failed twice at, once at SM Entertainment and once at YG. Failing the SM audition was probably a good thing for him as it made him realize he isn't as good as he thinks he is. He became a bit more humble and it was easier for him to accept the second failure. The feedback he got from his first YG audition was mostly good and he was actually told to come back and try again. He returned after a year of practicing and this time he passed the audition, finally becoming a trainee.
