Before you start to read this random post, please note that whatever I write here is not a professional piece. I'm writing this post as a B2UTY and an Inspirit.

So please do know that I'm loving both of them equally. The comparing is nothing to be worried.

No bashing. Just sharing my opinion. Open for any thought.

* * *

- Intro -

INFINITE is back after "Man in Love". The music video filming took place in LA Universal Studio MV. The teaser made the fans clinged for 2 weeks.

During "Man In Love" promotion, some said that INFINITE had lost their synchronized choreography, that they don't suit the theme. Perhaps you may think I'm just being biased here but, really, "Man In Love" is a happy, bubbly song. I think it's perfect for them to enjoy the stage without being sharp and all with the dance.

Meanwhile BEAST finally dropped their second full album after 2 years. "Will You Be Alright" and "I'm Sorry" greeted the fans beforehand but the full album is what B2UTIES waiting for the most.

After promoting "Beautiful Night", BEAST is back with a serious, manly concept like "Shock" and "Soom". CUBE and the members actually enjoyed teasing the fans during the waiting.

- Teaser -

INFINITE's teaser drew attention even with piano melodies and only one line sang by Sunggyu: "Cause you're my destiny". Showing the epic set of Universal Studio, Inspirits had the perfect view of fierce INFINITE.

BEAST's teaser grasped B2UTIES with Yoseob's voice even from the first second. Dark, scary, and mysterious. The part of "Because I'm shadow, shadow, shadow" would stay in your mind for a while.

*

My favorite: BEAST. The teaser made me felt like three days were a really long time because I was dying to listen to the song.

- Music Video -

INFINITE has a lot of special effects in the music video along with their amazing teamwork in dance. I must say I am waiting for the Ver A patiently now. However, as for now, I do think the set will be more... How can I say it? It happened to be quite ordinary for me after I watched it multiple times.

BEAST, just like what the teaser has hinted, showed a couple of dancers, a male with tattoos and a beautiful girl. Skull, spider, moving shadow, scary grin. It's really the darkest MV BEAST ever has. Until now, at least.

*

My favorite: BEAST. The concept is unique and I like it. A lot. Some might said there are Illuminati symbols or boring but, let me say, the MV won my attention up to the point I'm willing to watch it again and again.

- Promotional Track -

"Destiny" is a strong track from INFINITE. Though I read somewhere that it's just loud and all comparing to their "Be Mine", I think this is an amazing song. I just needed to listen it once to make me put it in my favorite playlist. Every second of the song is just... Wow.

"Shadow" is catchy and BEAST shows us that they can do very well in every genre of music. I really like the bridge part, the exact part used in the teaser video. I like it but it took a while, thrice of perhaps four times, for me to get really into the song.

*

My favorite: INFINITE. I don't mind to put it as the only track in my playlist. I really want to memorize the lyrics.

- Dance -

INFINITE proved that they are still synced in dance. They do and they show it both in the music video and live performances. Sharp and fierce, INFINITE doesn't disappoint Inspirits at all.

BEAST will have their live performance on Beautiful Show 2013 in Seoul tomorrow so I don't really know yet but Prepix did a great job once again with their choreography, judging from the music video. Looks simple but so beautiful.

*

My favorite: INFINITE. I'll be honest, in dancing, INFINITE is indeed one of the best idol groups in K-Pop industry, along with SHINee of course.

- Vocal -

"Destiny" distributed the lines for INFINITE quite better than in "Be Mine" or "Before The Dawn". I'm glad both Sungjong and Sungyeol received more than just one line, though it's still just a little.

Hoya and Dongwoo, despite the position as main rapper and lead rapper, have even more lines than them. L opens the song and also gets the line for the closing. Sunggyu and Woohyun? No comment. They're perfect combination of main vocals.

"Shadow", just like BEAST's other songs, is really fair in giving parts for the six members. B2UTIES get the time to listen for each of their voices.

The only song which doesn't do the equal is, in my opinion, "Beautiful Night". Both Doojoon and Junhyung only have one part of rapping. I like it  but... well, counting happened.

*

My favorite: BEAST. Yoseob is indeed the main vocal and Hyunseung receives the title of lead vocal but, really, I think Doojoon, Gikwang, and Dongwoon also deserve the title of lead vocal. They're beyond ordinary.

As for Junhyung, of course he can sing. Heard him in Monstar! But, I must admit, for the position of main rapper, Dongwoo won it better in singing. As in a team, BEAST nailed the vocal part.

- Notable tracks -

It's not fair to compare both since "Destiny" is only a single with 4 tracks while "Shadow" is packed in a full album with 8 tracks but let me write this point.

Other than "Destiny", the single presented us with "Inception", a song which will remind us of a great movie, which also filming took place at the Universal Studio. They also performed it on their first day of comeback stage.

"I'm Going To You" is another track from "Destiny". INFINITE closed the single with "Mom", a ballad which became my favorite track after the promotional track itself.

"Hard to Love, How to Love" completed "Shadow" with both "Will You Be Alright" and "I'm Sorry". "I'm Sorry" is definitely my favorite ballad track in the album ever since I listened to it.

BEAST also presented their fans with a short "Intro", "How to Love" which sounds just definitely great, "Be Alright", "You're Bad", and "Encore". "Encore" is a catchy and upbeat but fun track. I like it a lot.

My favorite: INFINITE. Four of their tracks are well loved by me. I can't wait to see them perform all of them live!

- Side notes -

I don't know if it's just me or else but I think INFINITE's vocals have improved a lot, especially Dongwoo and Hoya. They have a lot of parts in all the tracks.

Seven of them showed a great comeback stage with the chairs. Yes, chairs. They used them during "Inception" performance. I loveee it. I also love "Mom" live performance, if only they don't cut Woohyun's part that much.

BEAST, still with the engrish. For the english, must admit SM and YG have the exact win. CUBE... G.Na, will you help? * just kidding *

Junhyung has improved a bit but, still, the pronouncation of the six handsome men need to be corrected. I'm not the best in English though so, please do correct me if I'm wrong.

"Give me the light, light, light. You are ma, ma, ma sunrise".
I heard it as "Give me the la, la, lait. You are ma, ma, ma, sonrise".

"You're my last" but Yoseob pronounced it as "you're my lest". However, other than those, I think they did a great job. So, thumbs up!

Conclusion: I'm still a proud B2UTY and a loyal Inspirit.
End of the review.

Thank you for reading and hope you have a very good time with both BEAST and INFINITE's comeback(s)!

I like your side notes part, it's just exactly what I thought when it came to the comparison between the two group!
For English, well, I think the voices and music of Beast are not suitable for an amount of English to appear in as it'd be a bit irrelevant and kinda weird! And what I adore in Infinite's lyrics is that, even though it might be repeatitive, there's hardly English (mostly one or two lines) and they remain as a truly-Korean group!

I love your review. Well there are parts that I actually dosagree but then again we all have different personal preferences toward something so yeah. However, the only thing you miss in this review I think is the lyrics. Gotta say Destiny is super catchy as hell so I had a hard time choosing between the two songs to vote fo. On Mnet chart. I almost went for Destiny but I happened to watch the eng sub for the MVs before voting and I think I love Shadow's lyrics more. It uses metaphors that I really like. As for Destiny's lyrics, it didnt impress me. The lyrics seems quite common and generic. I ended up choosing Shadow as the better song cause I believe a song cannot be a good song without a good lyrics. One important thing that we international fans who dont understand Korean often miss out is the lyrics.
