Description : There are no real contradictions with his looks. However, he has various piercings on his left and right ears. He also has a black and white tattoo on his right

inner forearm, just below where his elbow bends, of Halla Mountain as a way to commemorate his hometown.

Style : c a s u a l      f o r m a l     s h o e s

 inner beauty

------------------------------------

Personality : He's ambitious; unlike the so-called gangsters" of Hollywood, Yong Duk is actually very smart and his ambition is reflected in the course load he

takes on.  He is careful and reserved; Yong Duk doesn't trust anyone easily. He is very wary of new additions to the group and, therefore, he is very careful in

what he does  around others. You've heard of the strong and silent type? Well, that's Yong Duk in a nutshell (and if you say otherwise, he'll break your nutshell);

very rarely does he actually talk, which makes those moments (the ones when he actually talks) very important.

Usually, his will will be conveyed through Bao Sung (the only person, other than his family, that he'll talk to on a day-to-day basis). He's also pessimistic-- he typically sees the glass as half-empty and will

always look at the worst of a situation before looking at the positives, if there are any.

So, since Yong Duk doesn't go around throwing gang signs and speaking like a strung out third grader ("Ayo, wassup fo'shizzle mah nizzle. word."), what exactly

makes him the school's "gangster," you ask? He commands attention and respect whenever he walks into a room. He is surrounded by an air of confidence. He's a

natural born leader who doesn't take flak from anyone. On top of it all, he has the rugged bad boy charm that seems to follow all true gangsters.

Background : Typically, when one thinks of gansters, they think thug, lowlife, someone who looks like they haven't seen a belt in years. If that's your image of a

gangster, then surely Cha Yong Duk does not fit the bill. Unlike the image crafted by Hollywood scammers, Yong Duk did not grow up in a less than desirable

neighborhood; he was not raised by crack addicted parents and he was not diddled by his drunk uncle. Nah, Yong Duk actually led a pretty priviledged life, made

possible of course by the large inheritence left to his mother after his great grandmother (his mother's grandmother) passed on.

His father and mother got divorced when he was just a baby and his mother remarried later on to the CEO of a local company in Jeju. Yong Duk grew up in a small

detached home right near the beach. He, his mother, and his stepfather spent almost every weekend down on the beach, building sandcastles, learning to surf, etc. It

was these special family moments that fostered Yong Duk's love for the water, which also helped to contribute to his nickname, Ducky.

When he was 8 years old, Yong Duk got very sick. He had a bacterial infection in his spinal fluid. He recovered, with the help of modern medicine, but the illness

left him legally blind  (that is, without his contacts, he sees blurred images) and deaf in both ears. However, with the help of his hearing aid, he can almost hear at an

ordinary level. Because of his hearing deficiency, Yong Duk has a slight speech impediment. It's not severe, but it does cause him to stumble over his words and it

can be hard to understand him. It's not as noticeable if he speaks in very short replies. It's because of this impediment that he doesn't speak. He's too

embarassed of the speech impediment to say  anything. He doesn't want to damage

his reputation. The only one that knows this, other than his family, is his best friend.

Love Interest : Lee Seon-Woong (Tablo)

Back-up Love Interest(s) : Gong Yoo ; Kim Bum

Age - Birthday : 18 ; 1994. 07. 22

Ethnicity : Korean

Nationality : Korean

Personality : Tablo is imaganitive and shrewd (in the sense of being clever and perceptive). He gets these traits from his parents and it's what has led him down

the path of being an artist. He has had a wild imagination ever since he was a child; he'd always let it run crazy as he tried to create a mental picture of his parents

(in 4th grade, he wrote a report on how his father was the President of South Korea and his mother was a famous opera singer). He is very perceptive in that he can

almost always tell when a person is saying one thing but meaning something else. He picks up on social cues through speech and actions that most tend to

overlook. He is protective of the ones that he loves and he won't let anyone hurt them. He can also be moody. His mood can fluctuate from really high to really

low  in almost no time. He battles with slight depression. Sometimes, this moodiness brings about his best art.

Background : Tablo's past is actually quite interesting. He born in Seoul, but was given up for adoption by his parents. His parents were up-and-coming artists who

were struggling to find work and decided that adoption was the best choice for their son because they were already struggling enough as it was to feed themselves

and they didn't want their son to have to know what hunger was at such a young age. Plus, they just couldn't afford to give him the things he would need. He

wasn't in the system long before a kind, elderly woman in the States adopted him. He grew up in the States with the old woman and when he was 16, he decided to

return to Korea to study and reconnect with his culture.

Languages : Korean (fluent) ; English (fluent)

Classes : English 4 AP, Linguistics, French, Studio Art, Photography, Psychology

Clubs : Art , Photography

How you met : Not wanting to be one of the boring people who just walked around asking for a match, Tablo took his slip and taped it to  his

painting that were hanging around the art room for one period and then hid in the room to see if anyone who came in matched him. Yong Duk came into the

art room to look at the paintings to see if there were any he wanted to try and buy for his collection. When he came across Tablo's painting, he saw the slip and

found that it matched his.

How you guys act around each other : Tablo is relaxed and chill around Yong Duk. He's always trying to make him open up, to make him speak to him, and to

make him laugh. Tablo's the type of guy that tries to lighten the mood when with others. He also tries to figure out what makes Yong Duk tick and tries to

understand him, unlike a lot of the kids at their school. Yong Duk doesn't really have any interest in the whole matching thing and didn't want to do it, but he knows

that it is sacred at the school, so he tries his best to be civil toward Tablo. Unexpectedly, he finds himself letting his guard down around the elder male and ends up

showing his true self that others don't get to see.

Extra scene requests : maybe an important scene would be where Tablo learns about his speech/hearing problem and maybe it blossoms from a misunderstanding,

like Tablo confesses his feelings or something and Yong Duk won't respond because he's too embarrassed and thinks that Tablo will make fun of him
