Personality : She's kind, but only to people she likes and have a relation to. In other words, to strangers, she just ignores them. She can be cold at times, but only when she's pretty upset, it's best to leave her alone when she's like that. She's very loving toward her members and is helpful in anyway she can. She loves to cook and find new recipies to try, no matter where they are from. She's out-going. She's also very brainy and and loves to read. Especially crime and mystery! She's not easy to scare. If she saw a ghost in real life she would hug it, no matter how scary it looks. To love, that's a different story. She's not dense about it, but she's insecure. Then it's fortunate that cheering her up is easy. Treat her to ice-cream and it'll be fine again. Her favorite is strawberry. Another thing to do if she's in a bad mood is to play video games. She loves Amnesia and other "jump-scare" games. She's very childish almost all the time, but can be serious/act older at random times.

Background : Hyunbum, when she was born, was very silent. Too quiet. She didn't cry like babys should when they're born. Her parents were worried that she didn't make it... The midwifes and doctors were in a frenzy to make her make a sound, any sound at all. Then at last, she cried. The doctors told her parents that the reason she didn't cry was because she has asthma so they had to put her in a respirator to help her breathe. It was because of this her brothers became protective of her. They want her to be well, not sick, in other words. One day when their mother got home from work, Hyungjun and Kibum were out with friends (and Hyunbum was 4 years old), she found her husband in bed with another woman. Hwaejae threw the woman out of the house and they started shouting at each other. Hyunbum was taking a nap when they started, she woke up and asked them what was going on. Neither of them answered, but her father grabbed her and ran out of the house. Hwaejae, never saw her again.

While Hyunbum was with her father, he didn't treat her like a daughter at all. He treated her like a slave, a servant. He would always come home drunk with a different woman every night. He didn't allow Hyunbum to go to school, but when her father was out at work, she would sneak out to learn on her own. She was careful to never let her father see her when she would sneak inside the appartment again. Then one day, she saw that there were an audition for BigHit Ent. and she auditioned. Later she sneaked out again to see if she had passed the ausition, and she had! So from that day (she was 13 years old at that time), she trained in secret, but her father found out.  When she got to the age of 10, her father would beat her, one time (when she was 13) is was so bad that she was half dead. At that time he was kind enough to send her to the hospital, but he shouldn't have done that (was what he thought later). Her oldest brother Hyungjun was in the hospital with his group SS501 for a check-up when he saw his father, Shinhae. Both him and Kibum knew about what happened that day. Hyungjun stalked his father when he saw Hyunbum in one of the hospital beds. He couldn't believe his eyes, she had become so beautiful, even if she had tubes attached to her. He memorized the room number and walked back to s. When he got back he called the police and told them what was going on.

The police came and arrested Shinhae, Hyungjun went to Hyunbum's room and waited for her to wake up. When she woke up, she was in a state of panic, but she recoverd when she saw someone that was very familiar. It was Hyungjun, the ammount of joy between them couldn't be expressed in words. Hyungjun called Kibum and Hwaejae to the hospital and told them what happened. From that day on ward Hyungjun and Kibum were always with her, they always called her when they were at work. Her mother teached her what she missed when she wasn't at school and taught her handy work such as; baking, cooking and cleaning. Though she was treated badly by her father all those years, she never let that affect her personality and behaviour. But she has trusting issues towards men she has never met before. But she's willing to try to get rid of that. Her asthma had vanished over the years and hasn't been bothered by it since. Now she's pretty close with ther brothers' group members from U-KISS and SS501.

Trainee Life : It was hard and tireing. Hyunbum fainted a couple of times because of training too much. Hyunbum is a fast learner so it was a joy for her trainers to train her. She's had no problem with anyone and no one had problems with her what so ever. She also got new friends who have helped her through her whole trainee period. She also had Jin, he helped her the most and took care of her whenever she was sick.
