Death Girl Ep 1-2

Yes, I haven't watched the drama until now. At first, I was really happy to know that WangZi's back with a drama. But, it really upset me to know his life's story in Death Girl.

WangZi played the role of a rich and smart guy named Huang He. That student was the best and he is the school's pride. Little did the people around him knew his life's true story.

Huang He's a high school senior with the best records. Straight A's, perfect competition winnings, handsome face, and rich. He's probably someone to call perfect. But in the story, he had a different personality when people were not looking. He's the school's gang boss. Though he looked really naive, he was the most powerful student in the place. He would summon students just to bully them and get what he wanted. Those people who knows about his underground identity hated him. They wanted him dead, moreso, they wished he had never lived.

He really wouldn't care about them. Not until he knew that one girl who had beaten him on a debate contest. Her name was Xiao Qing (Meng Geng Ru). He was interested in her, to start it off. He wanted to know her more. And in the process, he had bullied her bother who was indebted with 6,000 taiwanese dollars. He had ordered him to send his sister on a rooftop in one of the school's buildings.

Having no choice, the elder brother sent his sister to meet with Huang He. Meanwhile, Ah Pang (played by WangZi's little brother MaoDi) learned about Huang He's intentions. He tried to follow her but the building was guarded. He was left with no other choice but to climb the other building and watch from afar.

He knew something went wrong. In fact, he was sure of it. He saw Xiao Qing and Huang He struggling. Remembering the stone that his grandmother brought home, (It was a stone from a mountain. His grandmother, who is a spirit questor / specialist,  brought it home to exmine it and find out what it is. He took it and found out that the stone was somehow connected to the god of Death or who they call "Du") he wished for Huang He to die. Upon wishing, the god of death appeared before him and asked about his reason. He had told the god that he wanted revenge for his crush, Xiao Qing.

The next day, Huang He was found dead. He fell off the same rooftop where he and Xiao Qing were last found. Being too driven by anger, Ah Pang was relieved that his wishes did come true. But as hours passed, his guilt did not let him go. He visited the rooftop where Huang He jumped from and found Xiao Qing standing there, crying.

When he asked her what the matter was, she told him everything.

On that day, she really did try to stab Huang He with a knife. But being a mafia boss, he was strong enough to beat her and take the knife away from her. Soon, he started opening up to her, telling his life's story.

He was once his science teacher's boyfriend. When she had given birth to a child, she told him that he was the father. Being too afraid of the consequences, he tried to escape his responsibility by wishing that the child to be dead. The following day, news spread out that the teacher's child suddenly died. Huang He was relieved but not for long. Soon, guilt kicked him but he didn't show it. He even told the teacher to stay away from him. After some months, she decided to leave, giving Huang He a small bottle with the child's ashes.

He also told Xiao Qing about his goal in life. He said that he wanted to be the best student yet the worst. "My grades are too good that they couldn't get any better. And I am as bad that it couldn't get any worse." He said.

After much emotional talk, he finally told the girl that he wanted to start anew to clear his sins -- even if it meant sacrificing himself, he would do so.

It was not until the end of the 2nd episode that every detail was revealed.

The child that he knew of did not really die. And, it wasn't Huang He's child. The teacher just wanted to take her revenge against the cold-hearted student. And, the god of death said that she did not do anything to kill Huang He. It was him who voluntarily given his life for her.

My point is... well, I was just disturbed by his story.

I was like ""OH SH__ WHY DID THAT HAPPEN?!" when I found out about his death and the child's real identity. I wasn't really expecting him to die that way (well, though, I could sense that he's going to die somehow... but not really like that.). I was expecting something to be resolved. But in the end, everything was left hanging. Huang He had never heard of the truth behind the child. He also didn't know about the stone's truth.

The mystery...

Well, according to what the "legend" says, the god of death would be willing to help them if they found the stone where people could see her. At first, Huang He wished for the child's death. Then Ah Pang wished for Huang He's death. Though, what they know, their wishes came true, the truth was none of them was really done by the god of death. Like, when Huang He wished for the child's death, the teacher just wanted to teach him a lesson. The child did not die. And, Huang He did not die because of Ah Pang's wishes, he really did it oluntarily.

I know this is a puzzling blog. Well, I just wanted to keep something about my thoughts... I just wanted to write it down. Anyway, I am still disturbed by the story. Do try watching it... may be you could tell me what you think about the drama. :)
