physical character description : Jangmi is on the pale side, but the hispanic blood in her gives her an olive skin tone that really shows when she tans. As a matter of fact, it takes A LOT for her to burn when in the sun for long periods of time. Her hair is naturally curly and considered "ravens black" (brown/black that looks blue if the sun hits it just right). She's got thin eyelashes (she's jealous of her sisters long, full ones) and naturally dark pink lips (though she wishes they were a cute peachy color). One piercing on each ear and no tatoo's.

sense of style : Jangmi is your typical girl who loves patterns and lace and cute clothing, but above all, she loves comfort. Comfort doesn't mean jeans and sweats to her. In her opinion, she can look cute and wear unique things while still being comfortable. She doesn't understand girls who wander around in heels all day just for the look of clothing. She loves wearing white and shades of pinks/peaches usually but also likes wearing greys and blacks as well. Jangmi is fine in dresses and skirts as long as they go to about mid thigh or above the knee, and shorts are fine as well as long as they can't be mistaken for underwear. Bathing suits are always one piece and typically the kind that look like cute dresses. She wears her school uniform properly. Not much of a necklace, bracelet or ring girl, but she LOVES earrings.

personality : Jangmi comes off as a quiet girl who doesn't care about making friends. Which is entirely not true. When it comes to meeting new people, Jangmi would rather keep quiet and have others talk to her first as a way of protecting herself. It shows that the people who talked to her have genuine interest and it takes away the risk of being ignored or looked at oddly if she were to make the first move at communication. Its completely different when she's introduced to people through her friends. It might take a little while to get comfortable and open up, but once she notices similar interests, she's quick to add input and make a connection. People often mistake her shy looking face and quiet nature for stubornness and think that she's stuck up, which actually hurts Jangmi's feelings because she likes to make a good first impression.

Beyond first introductions, Jangmi is quite the character. She has her mature moments where she likes to get her work done or simply sit back and observe as the others have their little moments of random ________. Then she has moments where she can get loud and speak as if she's gods gift to Earth (always sarcastically of course). She's more outgoing when in the comfort of her own house, or at a friends house. When out with friends, she's a tad more reserved because she doesn't like to draw unnecessary attention to herself. Jangmi can find something funny in the corniest of jokes and loves to laugh. It doesn't take much to keep her entertained and she's no the type that needs money to have a good time. Jangmi is pleanty happy with simply going out to window shop or attending small festivals. If theres any chance to ride a roller coaster, she's first in line but she hates being alone, so company is always welcome. If others oppose what she wants to do, then she quietly accepts because she doesn't like being though of as the type to always get what they want. She was surrounded by people like that in the States and at the private school in Seoul so she's made it her goal to never become so stuck up and proud.

Jangmi is the type of girl who would rather have friends than love interests. Sure, she has interest in celebrities, but to her that's all they are. If anything, they're a dream, something she can strive for in the future. Boys at her schools are not a priority. She's happy just making friends and would rather keep them than risk a friendship over a boy. She's not like those girls that gush over cute guys or who gossip about what they see first and like in a guy. Unlike those girls who look at the boy's sense of style, or their haircut, Jangmi just sees a boy. Plain and simple. If she ends up liking them later on, its because he first made a good impression and then thats when his style and features begin to stand out to her. Its also at that point that she starts to look at the little personality traits too. BUT thas also where she kind of subconsiously turns off to a guy. If she starts liking him, her first action is to push him away a bit so she doesn't give herself a chance to like him more.

Having been raised for many years in the States, she has a slightly different way of doing things. She's still learning the Korean customs that her father didn't enforce while in the States, and although her grammar is pretty good, she has moments where she says the wrong thing and her writing needs some polishing. She grew up speaking in the Busan dialect but speaking by spending so much time in Texas, she's also got a bit of a southern accent that carries into her Korean (it was worse when she first moved back to Busan. Its a lot better now). Jangmi picked up almost immediately on Korean music but the fans in Korea really scare her in comparison to the fans in the US. Though she can understand why they love their idols so much, Jangmi is put off by the erratic behavior and the rediculous lengths those girls go to get noticed. It doesn't scare her enough to hide from the culture, but she will most definitely give a variety of faces in response.

The real situation Jangmi has at the moment within the fan community, is her constantly growing love for Infinite. She really wants to let herself fall into their grasp completely but its not JUST the fans as a whole that is holding her back. Its one fan in particualr that scares her the most. Miss Jung Jinkyung. The one and only Lee Sungyeol's Wife. This girl has been the one to introduce Infinite to Jangmi and Janmgi is forver grateful. BUT there's one problem, that may just be a big problem in Jangmi's head, and not that big of a situation to the others. Jangmi is hiding that along with her dedication to those seven boys, her eyes have landed on one in particular. Lee Sungyeol. Jangmi isn't used to Korean fans and is far too afraid to admit it aloud to Jinkyung for fear that Jinkyung would get upset and posessive. She's afraid that Jinkyung might tell her that she can only choose from the members that haven't already been called for. Jangmi doesn't dislike the other members (she wouldn't call herself a fan if that was the case) and there are others that she obviously finds attractive, but Sungyeol has blurred any other option from her sight when she thinks of liking the others. Jangmi would much rather have the friendship of Jinkyung than lose it over a celebrity (one that she's come to accept that she'll probably never have a chance with).

family background : Jangmi was born in Busan and raised there for a very short while. When her mother found out that she was pregnant with Jangmi's little sister, her father and his best friend decided to take a chance and began working to start in import/export business. After clearing up the basics and setting their roots, Jangmi's family moved to Austin, TX to officially begin their business and look for a warehouse to start overseas shipping. Austin was definitely an odd place for the family to start up the business, but it was where her mothers family was. Surprisingly, the business got attention because of its odd location, and when Jangmi was about 4, the business really began to flourish. The choice of items being shipped between the US and Korea gave many Korean families the chance to open up stores in the area.

Jangmi grew up attached to her big brother, Daeho's hip, and her sister, Eunmi was attached to her hip. The family remained frugal and decided to save rather than spend. She kept good grades and took part in activities like band and art. Sports were never something Jangmi liked. She had a choice few friends but was closest with her siblings. School in the states was easy for her.

Throughout her life, the Kang family visited Busan for vacations and special occasions where they could visit the family. Jangmi's only Busan friend while in Busan was a girl who lived next door to her grandparents. One year during Chuseok, they visited and Jangmi found out that the family next door had moved.

Shortly after Jangmi's 9th birthday, her father made the announcement that they were making enough money that they could entrust the US part of the company to Janmgi's mothers family. It was his way of supporting both sides of his family. Within the year, they were all packed and heading to Seoul to be close to the business's headquarters. Daeho began college, and the girls began attending a prestigous all girls private school. Unfortunately, the schooling system was very difficult so they had to be held back a year, and along with their unique accents, their tan skin and exotic features made it tough for them to blend in. Jangmi's younger sister luckily had an easier time making friends.

After a while in Seoul, Jangmi's father noticed that a connection with Busan would be great for the business. It wasn't very long before the family (minus Daeho who decided to stay in Seoul, much to Jangmi's disliking) took off for Busan. Jangmi

dream job : Jangmi seriously is stuck in a position where she doesn't know what she wants to do. Her father tells her, "I'll always be proud of you, no matter what you do. Just don't major in something like underwater basket weaving". She's interested in so many fields, but mainly stuck between an Event Planner or an English teacher.

father : Kang Chulmoo | 49 | Co-owns OhKang Imports and Exports with his best friend Oh Kangho | old fashioned, humorous, loud, prideful | Jangmi and her father get along great. The only problem is that he's the type who is easily angered if things don't go his way. He's also the type who is NEVER wrong. Jangmi is definitely a daddys girl, but when they argue, it gets bad, and Jangmi is great at holding grudges, so there have been times where she's gone weeks without talking to her father. She got her arguing skills from her father.

mother : Kang Marina | 52 | House wife | kind, random, intuitive, clever | Jangmi gets along with her mother the best. They know how to joke around without insulting eachother. She's quirky and does little things that cause others to crack up like dancing around like a dork or singing one of her many songs about food. Jangmi's mother is always tired, and she's got arthritis which makes it hard for her to do things she loves like crochet and sewing. She's hispanic so don't get on her nerves (she's not afraid to use a cast-iron skillet if she needs to).

siblings :

Kang "Daniel" Daeho | 27 | Graphic designer and part time cafe worker | jokester, creative, helpful, independent | Jangmi and Daeho are super close. Daeho isn't the type to be very protective but he's very careful and makes sure his sisters are taken care of. Jangmi doesn't like being away from him but he likes his life the way it is.

Kang "Amy" Eunmi | 15 | Student | headstrong, quiet, clingy, smart | She's a bit of a firecracker. Eunmi would much rather spend time with her friends that with her family. She's smart and talented at many things. Jangmi is jealous of her sister. They get along very well but Eunmi is easily angered. Jangmi and Eunmi often get in little arguments but its often forgotten by the end of the night or the next morning. Eunmi is jealous of Jangmi's relationship with Daeho. To Eunmi, Daeho was more of an another authority figure while to Jangmi, he was a friend.

personality : Xiumin is your typical prideful boy. He likes getting his way, and when he does, there's no escaping his smart remarks and his sneaky smile. Though he sometimes says the wrong things, he typically means well. He's the jealous type but hates admitting it. He's not the type to explode if someone does something wrong but his stares definitely tell you he's not happy. If you give him presents, he'll be your friend, but if you give him food (it doesn't even have to be that great), he'll worship you for weeks. He's got pleanty of friends and aquaintences. He's not the type to have girlfriends often but when he does, he's loyal and it lasts for quite some time. Xiumin isn't the type to easily get shy or blush, he loves attention from girls but doesn't waltz around trying to get their attention. His grades are slightly below average (it doesn't really worry him because he's got Jangmi to help him out when he really needs it) and he's on good terms with the teachers so they don't give him a hard time. The kind of guy who's not afraid to ask for a favor, and will always help out a friend in return. At home he's totally dependent on his mom and he'll shamelessly bribe anyone to do his chores just because he's comfortable. Once he's moving around, he doesn't mind doing things on the go like picking up random trash (he doesn't like things to be very messy). He may be small but he's very very strong and he's good at sports and just about everyone knows better than to provoke him. Despite all of his good points, his headstrong pride won't let him pass up a dare and he won't give up until he's proven his point. He might even get hurt in the process, but while Jangmi is scolding him and cleaning up any injuries, he's sitting quietly with something between a smile (from being cared for) and a scowl (from the pain) on his face.

how the two of you met : While still living in Seoul, Jangmi's family attended the wedding of Kangho's (Jangmi's father's business partner) eldest daughter. During the reception, Kangho introduced Xiumin and his family to the Kang family because he knew that the girls would be attending the same school as Xiumin when they move to Busan (Kangho is Xiumin's uncle). They didn't speak much during the wedding but a few weeks later, after the Kang family moved to Busan, Xiumin's mother had him get up early and go to their house so he could walk the girls to and from school. Jangmi was about 16 at this time.

how the two of you act around each other : When together, Xiumin and Jangmi are an interesting mix. Xiumin has a playful smirk on his face most of the time while Jangmi's expressions are always changing. One second she's smiling at a nice comment he's made, next she's leaning away from him with squinty eyes and her tongue out in disgust at a small little joking phrase. They both like skinship but Xiumin is always the one to initiate it. They're often seen walking arm in arm, or Xiumin has his arms firmly around Jangmi's shoulders. She's come to accept and ignore his habit of shaking her around when his arm is around her like that. He doesn't like that she can act so kind and cute around him and then do the same with other guys. Just about everyone knows he likes her, but of course she doesn't notice it. Luckily due to the fact that she doesn't want a relationship, she doesn't notice the attention she gets from boys. Xiumin does though, and he uses their close friendship as a way of shooing guys away. He'll get really close or play with her hair and be extra smiley which of course makes others think they're in a relationship. Janmgi doesn't give in to his aegyo very easily and he just uses it to express dislike instead. Jangmi relies on Xiumin a lot, and vice versa. They're always there for eachother. Thats partially why she enjoys him so much, he's taken the place of her big brother who's still in Seoul. Then there are those moments where she realizes that he's not her brother and she pulls back on their relationship. She's the one he goes to for comfort but when she's upset (even with him), she holds it in. That is one of the qualities that Xiumin doesn't understand or like about her.

scene request(s) : Maybe a cute scene where xiumin is being sneaky and when he see's that she's got an eyelash on her cheek. After taking it off, he has her close her eyes to make a wish and as she's making the wish he gives her a quick kiss before blowing the eyelash off himself and running off.

lol its hard coming up with scenes. If you like this scene but think it'll fit better with another character, then by all means, use it. ^^ I'll be flattered honestly.

how did she become an infinite fan? : Jangmi was spending the weekend with her big brother in Seoul the week that Infinite debuted. She specifically remembers hearing their debut song playing non-stop in the stores near by Daeho's apartment. It wasn't until a their third single that she properly learned about them and she quickly became entranced. Moving to her school in Busan only added to the mix because that was when she met the girls who would help her in becoming an even greater fan.

01 : you transferred to busan high due to the fact that? When Jangmi's father's import/export business began taking off, he thought it would be best to use their money to give the girls a good education. Unfortunately, the private school in Seoul turned out to be a bad decision and when Jangmi's father took notice of an opening to expand the seafood part of the company, he quickly accepted it as a chance to earn more money and move the girls to a school where they'd probably be more comfortable.

02 : why doesn't she have any interest in relationships? While in the states Jangmi was young and never really spent time with boys other than her big brother. Any interacting with boys was done on the playground. Then, when finally back in Korea, she was placed in an all girls school where she spent all of her time at school trying her best to ignore the girls whine about boys, and when she had any contact with the boys in the area, the girls gave her a hard time for simply talking to them. Tired of everything, she just gave up. School was much more difficult in Korea than it was in the states so she decided that instead of settling with barely passing grades, she'd just spend her time bringing her grades up. Moving to Busan was a breath of fresh air, and she could finally talk to anyone without being judged, but she never transferred out of the whole "dating can come later"/"not until college" state of mind.

omg what on earth have you done to me?? I've been trying to avoid gifs from school 2013 so i could just start the drama but omg after looking through all those gifs of kim woobin....i swear my brain imploded from just the sheer flawlessness of his smile.
