Things just keep getting better and better...NOT!!!

Well State decided to terminate my boss's license to run the group homes in the area.  They are in some very serious trouble and may even have jail time.  The Texas Rangers are now involved and there are numerous caught on camera vids of some employees abusing the clients. 

Sunday evening was my last 16 hour shift and the last day period for my job.  I'm now jobless.  I'm really upset and sad but I'm also glad I got out when I did. 

Some of the things that have been going on in this company is just rediculous. 

The one thing that really pissed me off was the boss was paying us not out of THEIR money but the CLIENTS money.  Instead of providing clothing and food with the money the clients had, they were paying their employees.  Now...picture this....Since July, I've been getting checks twice a month that where over $1000.00 each time.  That's 7 pay checks.  I have two more checks that are still coming.  However, the last two checks will be combined.  Which with the hours for those two checks combined, I'm looking at over $1800.00 and I feel sick that this money was being taken  from the clients funds and not the owners.  I was working ALOT of over time too.  My over time pay was $13.50 hr.  Getting any where from 25 to 50 hours of over time...See why I'm really upset?

I also heard that State is investigating the old boss because he also owns a Meat Market.  He was getting and/or killing wild hogs and processing the meat and then putting it in the houses for the clients to eat.  When you are dealing with State funded facilities, the meat has to be USDA approved and this meat wasn't.  I heard a few months back State came into the houses and made the owner pull all the meat from the freezers and pour bleach on it.

They are also investigating a death or two that has occured.  One was in one of the houses and the other was a few months ago where they had already talked to me about this client.  I was the one that called the abulance to have him taken to the emergency room.  I was told I did the right thing on him. 

One of the clients I took care of, I knew his grandmother.  I may end up working for her part time to take care of him again.  She and I had a very long talk last night on the phone and she is the one that told me about all of this stuff.  Plus today I spoke to a girl that use to work with me and she also told me the same thing. 

My mom had been trying to get me to leave for awhile and is glad that I got out when I did with no trouble to look at.  I do know that one supervisor in the past had criminal charges filed against him for abusing SEVERAL clients with video proof of at least two incidents.

I know it's going to be really hard for me to find a decent job in this field with having worked at this company.  The news station has had this company plastered all over the news so it's going to be hard.  Mom wants me to find a desk job some where, but I haven't done that sort of work in over 10 years.  And I really don't want to work in another nursing home and deal with the painful back and shoulders again.  But right now, I will take what ever I can get.  I may even go back to school and get my CMA degree so I can at least pass out meds in a nursing home.

But this is why I haven't been on here in awhile.
