personality: Mainly , Yeon Joo is a very bubbly and cheerful girl. But is shy. She is lack of confidence and she always feels like she wasn't worthy of anyone or anything. Always humble and down-to-earth. No matter how much people compliment her , she always thinks that she's not enough. It can be both good and bad. Her lack of confidence makes her work harder than anyone else. But it turns into a bad thing when she started to go too hard on herself. She always forces herself to work harder each day till she was on the peak of loosing her voice. She lacks of sleep due to over-practicing. This can make people around her feel both sympathy and frustrated. She's also stubborn and refuses to hear anyone when she has already made up her mind. 

She's also shy. She always wait for people to approach her first before making friends. If not , she'll stay quiet and lonely. However , when people approached her , she warms up fast and will become herself soon enough. Her true self is always hyper and bubbly.She's overflowing with Aegyo even without effort. She has a lot of childish side ; - Addicted to Rillakkuma - Sleeps like a hybernating bear - Addicted to Chocolate - Loves eating more than anything. But once she's on stage , she's overflowing with charisma and confidence. It's hard for her to be confident so once she does , she does her best. A single defeat wouldn't stop her. Eventhough she's a girl , she isn't interested in any boys. Not even flower boys. Secretly , she wishes to have somebody to lean to. She was alone most of the time and has no one to lean onto . background: She was born in an averaged family. Her dad runs the family business - A Samgyeopsal Restaurant- . The restaurant is famous around her hometown. Her mother is pre-school teacher. She has an older sister named Yoon Bomi -A-Pink's Bomi- who si two years older than her. When she was born , she was loved by all due to her adorableness. She was the golden child of the family , always managed to amuse the whole village with her singing talents. She was able to be fluent in english at a very young age. Every mother wanted a child as obedient and smart as her , and every dad wanted a child as talented as her.  Yeon Joo even beated Bomi in Taekwondo.This caused jealousy to Bomi. Bomi also had talent in dancing. But it wasn't as good as Yeon Joo's singing talent. She hated her all her life. Even when they helped out at their dad's restaurant , the customers just loved Yeon Joo more than Bomi.

When she turned 7 , their mother died due to an illness. Yeon Joo who was closest to her mom was really sad at the news. So does Bomi. However , Bomi's hatred was too big that she blamed their mother's death on Yeon Joo. Their Dad was also very sad and chose to leave the village and opening a samgyeopsal restaurant in Gwangju. They moved there soon . At Gwangju , Bomi managed to make Yeon Joo a loner in elementary school. She made everyone hate Yeon Joo. Yeon Joo had no friends. However , Bomi pretended to be nice when they're at home in front of their father.However , their new neighbour's son , SungJae is aware of Bomi's bullying her little sister. And he became Yeon Joo's first friend. He was beside Yeon Joo all the time. When he found out that Yeon Joo loved singing , he adviced Yeon Joo to become a trainee at an entertainment company to keep her happy. She did . However , she was still isolated but kept it a secret from Sungjae. Only after 3 years , Sungjae's friend who just became a trainee at that time , told him about Yeon Joo being a loner. This made Sungjae worried and immediately auditioned for Cube Ent to be beside her. Fortunately , SungJae also has talent in singing. Sungjae stayed beside her for years , protected her from Bomi. Bomi debuted first ,and then Sungjae. It was Sungjae's pleading that made Yeon Joo FINALLY agreed to debut.

After 3 years of being alone , Sungjae entered CUBE Ent to keep her company. He became her one and only friend. The next year , Namjoo became a trainee and became her friend too. On her 4th year of being a trainee , she was supposed to debut with 4Minute but she refused because she thought that she was too young at the time and wanted to continue being a trainee.
