红宝石 / 凌霜华 wields the power of the 朱雀
However, there are times, many times, where she tends to hold mild grudges and becomes just slightly a bit petty. Shuanghua can say she forgives you and let bygones be bygones, but best believe she will remember how she was treated back then and will use it when the time comes for her to remind said person in an indirect way. Shuanghua doesn't involve herself much with others unless necessary, but more than not, she's only interested in providing care and services and not making any sort of long-lasting relationship in the long run that isn't required of her skills and knowledge. Overall, Shuanghua comes off as a tsundere whereby she conveys better with her actions than her words.

Shuanghua expressed interest in the medicinal world at a very young age whenever the family visited her mother's parents. She would follow her grandfather to his clinic where he taught her the ways of traditional and even modern medicine over time. Still, her father and mother assumed it was just a phase and a piqued interest of sorts that she would grow out of. Even insisting on Shuanghua to follow the paths of either one of her grandmothers or even her aunt. Like a potter, poet, a theater performer, or even a scholar like other kids. However, Shuanghua ;held strong to her interest of medicine with the backing from her grandfather while partaking in other activities to ease her parents' relentless persistence otherwise.

The doors of the courtroom swing open with a heavy, metallic clang. The sounds echo off the intricate, glossy bloodwood carvings that vault into high arches at the edges of the room.
Framed from behind by a scarlet tapestry embroidered with yellow dragons, Empress Yong looks on stoically from her throne of gold and ivory. Beneath her, rows of Hangwei nobility kneel on cushions in neat rows, silently glowering at the sudden annoyance.
Two guards struggle to drag in a bound prisoner between them. The person squirms and struggles until she is tossed to the ground, landing in a heap with a groan.
The guards kneel behind her, bowing their heads deeply toward the empress.“Your Royal Brilliance,” one of the men says, “We found another of the… peculiars.” He indicates the prisoner with a nod of his head.
Empress Yong stands, the ornaments in her hair tinkling as she looks down from her platform. Her gaze passes over the woman, lingering on each feature carefully. “It would appear so,” she speaks without inflection. She sweeps a hand forward, an ornate, silky sleeve dragging against the ground.“You there, get up." She says, pointing to her. "Do you know why you are here today?”
Shuanghua languidly rises to sit on her knees, but does not stand up and remains where she is, staring at the woman before her. Shuanghua glances about her indifferently before settling her eyes onto Empress Yong.
"Obviously not, but I'm sure you'll tell me." Shuanghua replies in a neutral and in an almost bored-like tone.
The empress narrows her eyes. “I want your name,” she snaps.
Shuanghua slightly rolls her eyes with a soft scoffed, speaking in the same tone.
"Xiao Yuncha."
Of course it wasn't her real name, but technically it is a name she goes by and actually responds to. Besides, Shuanghua didn't want this woman to even know that much less her real name.
The Empress looks up briefly to cast her eyes around the court. When they return to the prisoner, she smiles. “We’ve heard the stories, my friend. First, it was the Princess- now others of your kind are popping out of the ground like weeds. You have caused us quite a headache.” She leans closer, lowering her voice. “What is it you ‘peculiars’ want?”
Shuanghua inwardly cringed at the mention of 'my friend', but kept her facial expression neutral before matching her smile and tone with Empress Yong.
"What is it about 'peculiars' that you want from them?" Shuanghua asked before speaking again, not giving the empress time to respond.
"However, I, myself, would like to be set free and return to my mundane daily life before being captured by your guards."
The Empress straightens again, her posture regal. Her smile is bitter and emotionless. “I see. However, do you truly expect me to let one with your abilities run amok and sink our great nation into chaos? The four corners of the world are fighting neck-and-neck to even have a glimpse of the likes of you.” She shakes her head. “No, I cannot allow it. Even the Princess herself will be dealt with in light of this situation.”
Shuanghua's eyes narrowed as she silently inhaled deeply before speaking in a firm tone.
"Clearly, Your Royal Brilliance," the title rolling off her tongue in a mocking-like manner, "You are no different than those fighting neck-and-neck to see a glimpse of what you have said before you already."
Almost as an afterthought or maybe even an unconscious thought as that, the words escaped on their own accord.
"As for the Princess, maybe there's a reason for this situation in the first place."
With a tight expression, the Empress gestures once again, and the two guards haul the prisoner back onto her feet.
“Take her away until we come to a further conclusion here,” she says, a flick of her eyes motioning to the patiently-waiting nobles. "Dismissed." She waves them away with her hand, the guards grunting with effort as they drag the prisoner back through the crowded room and away from sight.
Shuanghua did not make it easy for the guards to lead her way. If they needed two of them to handle her, then she was gonna give them a reason for it. Still, she needed to figure out how to escape and keep herself alive for the time being.
