Personality: 

The first thing, and probably most important thing you should know about Chara is that she has retinopathy. Retinopathy is a case where her blood vessels in her retina that converts light into images for the brain becomes damaged. It causes Chara to have blurred vision from time to time, pieces of her vision missing, and trouble seeing in the dark. Chara's case is rare because she got it when she was still young and retinopathy usually happens to people who have had diabetes for a long about of time. However, with Chara, she had type 1 diabetes ever since she was a younger kid but she never knew about it so she did not take care of herself. Her diabetes ended up getting worse and they didn't realize she had it until it was too late and she had retinopathy.

I know. You're probably thinking "how can an idol be almost legally blind?" but it's not like Chara could control her getting it, however, now that she is aware of it, she learned to take care of herself. It's under control, along with her diabetes. She knows how to control her blood sugar, when she needs insulin, and what she can and cannot eat. However, the damage done when she didn't have it under control isn't reversable so her vision is far from perfect so she wears glasses to help clear up her vision a bit. She takes it as a blessing to no be able to see as well as others. Her lack of sight makes her want to prove others that she still has value. She gets annoyed that people think she can't do things when really she can. She's perfectly fine now. She doesn't need help from others.

As much as it pains her, there are some things Chara will never be able to do despite her "never-give-up" attitude. She can't cook, obviously, but she can make a salad but that's only thanks to that knew one-handed vegetable cutter invention. She has never a stove, has no clue how to boil water, and can't even make rice. Don't even give her a knife. As a trainee, she's lived on store-bought kimbap and occasionally take-out when her parents send her money. 

When you first meet her, she gets very defensive, and that's normal. It's just her usual reaction to things. She's used to people seeing that she's can't see as well as them and pitying her, then feeling like they have to do everything for her. She hates that. She wished people would just let her live her life, not in a rebelious way but just see that she doesn't need to depend on someone 24/7. She knows that every once in a while, she would need to ask someone for support, and that's inevitable, but she doesn't need someone treating her like a little kid. She doesn't get why people can't understand that she doesn't need their help.

When you get to know her, and realize she's fine on her own, she starts to open up. She doesn't smile much, only when needed or if you make her laugh really hard. She doesn't talk much either, but when she does, expect either a really sarcastic or hilarious comment. Some people think that she's snobby just because she doesn't speak much but she doesn't really care. She knows that she's not snobby and that it's just not like her to talk a lot so why should she care about their opinion? It's not true. she really doesn't care about what people say about her.

Chara's real passion is music. She loves the feeling of the neck of the guitar in her right hand and left index finger strumming(or fingers plucking) the strings along with the sweet melodic sounds flowing to her ears and filling her brain. Learning how to play was hard, she would be the first to say, but in the end it was all worth it to her. Her father was the one to teach her acoustic guitar when she was younger, well he started teaching her. He got frustrated and quit on her but she kept trying and ended up teacher herself, along with electric, bass, piano, and the drums. She's currently trying to learn ukelele.

Family Background: 

She was born in GwangJu, South Korea and lived with her parents and halmeoni there. When she was around four-years-old, her halmeoni died and they no longer had a reason to stay in Korea since they were only there to take care of her halmeoni so after that, they moved to live closer to her umma's side of the family in Manila, Philippines. At home, her appa would talk to her in Korean and her umma would talk to her in Tagalog so she became bilingual. When she went to school, she met Park SangHyun. Both being Korean in a Filipino environment, they immediately clicked. She quickly became friends with his two older sisters too, Sandara and Doorami. With Dara's shoot to stardom in the Philippines, Chara worked for her own career path. She began to send audition tapes to different companies in Korea. When she was accepted, her parents gave her a parting gift, KaeRi, just so that she wouldn't be alone in Korea and she could have an extra hand here and there.

• Her name Black Rose is significant. It represents how even though people view her eyes as a crutch to her like how people think black roses are ugly because they look wilted and dead, to her the smell is beautiful like how she thinks her blindness is a blessing.
• Her favorite indie bands are Standing Egg, Black Bag, and Brown Eyed Soul.
• She spends most of her time either in the recording studio composing or in Hongdae looking for inspirations.
• A few of her compositions include Break Up by Electroboyz, Beautiful Stranger by f(x), Pray by Sunny Hill. These were from before she signed with YG.

Heo YuChan | 45 | surgeon | One of his biggest regrets is that because he was locked up at work most of the time, he didn't get to spend a lot of time with Chara or her mother. He tried to make it up to them on the days off but there was always a feeling of guilt bottled up in the pit of his stomach. He loved both of them with his entire heart but had to settle on loving them from a far because of his job. He's very calm and doesn't show much on his face. In whatever situation, his face always has a neutral expression, probably because he is a surgeon and has to keep a straight face at work for the patients. | YuChan would do anything for Chara, but not to the point of spoiling her. As a result, though, Chara feels smothered by his actions and tries to push him away. | 4

Angeline Heo | 44 | housewife | She stayed at home because YuChan was always out at work so no one else would be at home for Chara. His job could support them anyway. She's very overprotective and somewhat of a control freak. She only wants what's best for Chara but sometimes she goes a little overboard. She did everything she could for Chara, even if she was exhausted or tired. She was selfless and always put Chara first. | Chara felt even more suffocated by her mother even though she knew her mother was only treating her like that for her own good. Sandara Park | 27 | Entertainer | She's a huge dork and acts(and looks) way too young for her age, but that's exactly what her charm is. She's not the best singer out there but she can sing, you can't deny that. She's afraid of most animals, excluding Dougie(Minzy's dog), DaDoong(CheonDoong's cat), and KaeRi, but after a while she gets used to them. She's very happy and bubbly, but only if you're really good friends with her. If not, she's really shy and timid. | The two are comeplete dorks with each other. They have mountains and mountains of inside jokes(that no one besides CheonDoong would probably get).

Friend/s: 

Jay Park | 25 | Entertainer | She's worked with Jay countless times with composing and gave him numerous songs which he later put into his albums. He has that sort of "Western, swag" type of feel around him, mostly because he grew up in Seattle. He jokes around a lot and loves playing pranks, like teasing pranks. He loves teasing people and making fun of them, in a completely harmless, friendly way, but that's only around his friends. | The two used to go out but broke up mutually because they decided that they were best as friends, no hard feelings. Now they act as if they never went out at all and were always like brother and sister.

How's your relationship with other YG artists? 

She's worked with Tablo, Teddy, and GD a lot for composing and they respect her as a musician and composer, not to mention they go out a lot after the recording sessions for a drink or two.

Minzy enjoys trying to teach her how to dance even though it's hopeless and usually ends up with Chara falling on her face.

She does her vocal practices with DaeSung but it usually fails because they just end up laughing hysterically while trying to imitate other singers' voices.

She gets more serious with her vocal practices around Gummy, but they still have a fun sunbae-hoobae relationship.

She and Dara are practically inseparable.

PSY is like her really awesome oppa that she could go to whenever she needed to(especially if she wanted him to buy her something).

 

 

Rival: Amber

Reason why both of you are rivals:

They don't hate each other. They could never hate each other. They're friends but not close friends. Amber always tries to push Chara, though, to be her best. They met when they were trainees and set up a little competition to see who could debut first. Obviously, Amber won that but now they're trying to "fight" to see who could be the best. They push each other to do better. 

 

Lover: Onew | 22 | Entertainer | Like Chara, he's a clutz but worse. He falls way more times that she does. To say that he loves chicken would be an understatement. He always has a smile on his face and acts like a dork, especially with his sense of humor that it way too corny for his own good. He's caring and likes taking care of others but still knows how to keep his boundaries to where the other person is comfortable. He has a bit of a temper but calms back down easily. | When Onew sees her, he would say hi and Chara would say hi back but that's it. It's a little awkward between the two.

How did/will you meet him? Amber introduced Chara to JongHyun who introduced her to Onew. Originally, the llama siblings were playing matchmaker and trying to set the two up but it never worked out since Chara and Onew never made an effort for it themselves. Eventually, they lost contact after she left SM but meet again when she debuts.

Why do you like him?: She likes the fact that she can depend on him without him going too overboard. He's reliable and trustworthy but still pushes her to be independent at the same time. Even though it is a little awkward between the two, she sees the good in him.

Back-up lover: DaeSung | 23 | Entertainer | He's always smiling and knows how to brighten up the mood. You can't help but smile when he's around. He just omits happiness. However, on stage his goofy personality disappears and he becomes a charismatic singer, but still maintains a certain level of fun that captures the audience. He likes teasing people and sometimes it gets annoying but it's still funny. The only problem is he doesn't know when to stop teasing others. | There relatively close friends. When they see each other they say hi, exchange a few words, and joke around, but there's still a small sense of separation between the two because of the sunbae-hoobae status.

How did/will you meet him? They met when she was a trainee and he had debuted already. She was composing with G-Dragon when he walked in.  Since he was already a singer for about a year when she joined YG, she looked up to him. 

Why do you like them?: How can you not like him? He's fun and easy-going. He's really comfortable to be around and easy to get along with. But one thing that really drew Chara to him was his voice, that powerful voice.

Trainee years: 5 years(1 year at SM, 4 years at YG with a 2 year interval inbetween)

How you got discovered: She sent numerous audition tapes and was first accepted into SM Ent. but left because she felt she wouldn't be able to express herself as artistically as she wanted to there. After she left, she became an independent composer, under the name Black Rose, and sold her songs to other companies for 2 years. After giving a few to YG, they accepted her as a composer.

Trainee life: She wasn't originally a trainee. It wasn't until after Papa YG walked in on her singing the guide song for the song she composed that he realized her voice was way too good to be wasted on guide songs and never heard in public, so he promoted her to being a trainee. A few of the people in the company were a little skeptic about adding her in the group because of her medical background. There were so many factors that played into it like if the trainer put her on one of those "idol diets" her body probably would become out of whack and then her eyes would start to act up again or if she exercized a lot accompanied by the lack of sleep that comes with all the schodules. However, Papa YG had faith in her talent and decided that she would be in the group. Her voice would be in the song and her name would be listed in the website, but she wouldn't be there for the performances, at least not on stage.

Ummmm... I just wanted to say that the part about her possibly debuting but not being up on stage is optional. If it doesn't fit into the storyline then that's okay.... but then her fan club name would have to be Charmander and her persona would have to be Independent Woman(with an attitude).

Request scenes? Well, obviously Chara is going to have to be in the limelight sooner or later so I guess eventually paparazzi(or Knetizens) should figure out who Chara is because her not being in the performances would cause a lot of rumors and scandals like she's ugly or can't really sing live, something like that. (This applies only if you let her have a face-less debut.)

Oh! There could be a whole noraebang party after the debut! LOL IDK Only if you want. I just find noraebang scenes really funny especially if the people are really drunk.
