She doesn't care much about style. She values comfort so much more. Who cares about how you look if you don't feel right a anyway? Most of her clothes are the same black, grey, and white shades just so she won't mismatch colors or anything. She has to look at least decent. Comfort doesn't mean dressing like a hobo. She hates skirts and dresses just because you never know if a gust of wind could blow by and make it fly up and don't even try to get her to wear heels. It's impossible. The only exception is formal events.

personality :
The biggest thing about Chara is that she's blind, but you'll probably know that the minute you see her with her guide dog, KaeRi, and her sunglasses. Her blindness is both a blessing and a curse to her. She hates depending on others and is always out to prove to others that she is capable of doing normal people things despite her disabilities. At the same time, it makes her push herself too much, almost to the point where she can get herself into trouble. Her desire for independence translates into trust issues between her and others. She won't accept help from others despite how hard she's struggling or how many times they offer. She hates the feeling of being incompetent not being able to accomplish something. It makes her feel small and unimportant so she doesn't want others to do things for her. At the same time, she knows her limits. She knows there are things she can probably never do, such as cook or drive, but she's working on the cooking thing. She's never touched the stove in her apartment but, thanks to technology, she can make a pretty awesome salad, though the dressing is still store-bought.
Her struggle for her own independence probably branched out from her detest for pity. She hates it when people look down on her or felt sorry for her just because she didn't have one sense which some people argue is one of the most important. At the same time, she doesn't want to be alone. She can't be alone. She would be lost if she was alone. That's why KaeRi, her guide dog, is always there with her. All the trust she has in the world is put in KaeRi. She doesn't trust others because she has KaeRi there with her. She doesn't know what she would do if she ever lost him.
An area where she really loves to prove herself is music. You would never guess that a blind girl could play an instument and compose, right? It's like Beethoven but instead of being deaf, she's blind. But guess what? She can. Not only that but she plays bass guitar, acoustic, electric, piano, and the drums every once in a while. When she was a kid, she took piano lessons and then when seh got older, she gained an interest in indie music and a very urban sound so she taught herself guitar. Her friend, who was in an indie band but they don't keep in contact anymore, taught her drums.

- Black roses are important to her because they're a symbol of her blindness. She doesn't know much about them since she's never acutally saw one but according to other people, they are very ugly since they are dark and look like they have been withered away, but in her opinion, they are beautiful. She loves the smell of them. While people look at her blindness and see it as a disadvantage, she sees it as one of her strong points because it helped her become stronger.

family background / history : She was born in GwangJu. She was born blind and since there weren't many opportunities for her there (i.e. a school for blind children that would cater to their needs) her family decided to move to New York City since there was a wider spectrum of choices for her to choose from, so before she turner one, her family were on the plane to the States. At home, they only spoke Korean so Chara became fluent in both languages. It also helped that in NYC, they lived in Flushing, the Asian part of town so she was surrounded by other Asians. Her parents were over-protective of her because of her disablility. She couldn't go out without them, despite the fact that she would be with a group of friends, in fear she would get lost, since dogs (like KaeRi) weren't allowed on the Subway or bus, or that she would get run over by a car. She stayed at home most of the time. Her daily schedule was wake up, eat, school, home, eat, sleep. That was it every single day and she was tired of it, tired that she couldn't do anything, tired that she had to stay home and couldn't go out with her friends, tired that her parents practically breathed down her back every time she wanted to do something just to make sure she wouldn't do it wrong or get hurt.
One day, when she was 16, she had enough and, somehow, convinved her parents that she was moving out. She wanted to be as far away from them as possible. She chose to move back to Korea, Seoul to be more specific. For some sort of reason, they said yes and the next thing you knew, she was on a flight back to her mother lands with KaeRi by her side before her parents could change their minds. She made friends with various indie bands she met walking aroung HongDae and one of her best, and most famous, friends were the members of the band One Way. They set her up with a lot of connections with different companies she could sell her songs to, not that she needed them. She could've gotten the attention of companies without their help. Her parents sent money to her every month, but it's not like she needed it since she was getting enough income from the songs she would sell and produce to various companies.
father : Heo YuChan | 46 | surgeon at Queens Hospital | Chara, being the only child, a daughter, and blind, made her father want to protect her. She was his little girl. One of his biggest regrets is that because he was a surgeon, he was hardly ever home. What he did do was when she was little, he would constantly call home, especially right before she went to bed just to talk to her. He had a big, no, huge heart and the only ones in it were Chara and her mother. Whenever he had the day off, he would use it to spend time with the family, whether it was going to a baseball game (they were huse baseball fans) or just going to a noraebang and then eating diner after, he would take every second he could to be with Chara and her mother because he didn't know the next time he would be able to be with them. | When Chara was a little kid, they were extremely close, almost inseperable. Chara would cry when he would have to leave for work but when Chara hit the "independent stage" she would only push him away. | alive

She cared for Chara so much and only wanted the best for her, even though sometimes it did seem a little bit overboard. One time one of the reasons she gave Chara for not letting her so to Manhatan with her friends was that she would fall onto the Subway tracks and get run over. She did everything for Chara, in fear she would not be able to do it. Even though she was tired or exhausted, she wouldn't show it because she didn't want Chara to think she was weak. Chance's "Western swag hip-hip" kind of rubbed off on him so basically he has swag with an Aussie accent. He loves smiling, though, which is why he's the one in the group who is "half converted". relationship background : Chance had worked with Super Junior before. Chance produced a couple of Super Junior's songs such as Y from their 5th album and True Love by Super Junior - M. Chara tagged along because she had nothing else to do despite her pure hatred for mainstream pop, especially that of SM Ent which she argues and structured so that it would be typical mainstream to cated to the wants of the public. KaeRi wasn't feeling that well that dad so she let KaeRi stay at home so she was left with her stick. She wasn't that familiar with the SM Ent building so she would feel around the area with her stick. she bumped into YoonA and YoonA looked down at her for being blind. She would degrade her just because there were things she couldn't do and even questioned her talents in composing and music. Chara vowed that day that she would prove YoonA wrong and that she would never produce a song for SNSD.
