Hey guys CDA here but you can call me by my real name Lindsey if you'd like or any other ^^ So I've had a pretty awesome birthday today. I got 125.00 which isn't bad at all ;) XD And my cousin brought his son whom we haven't seen in 5 year's came over as well plus my mom, my sibling's and my step-dad so yeah it was a really awesome birthday ^^

But anywho I've been thinking...I know scary right? Ha ha but anyway, I was reading this user's blog on here talking about author's who talk trash about other writer's on this site and she said something that REALLY knocked some sense into me in her blog:

'Would you rather follow a person that insulted your writing while they gave you criticism, or follow a person that gave you criticism but encouraged you all the way?'

.....It makes sense doesn't it?

I mean why would you take advice from a person, who says something like 'Oh you're a terrible writer there's no hope for you at all, you have to work harder!' or would you rather listen to something like this instead 'Well your writing is pretty decent, but you have a few grammar/spelling mistakes but other than that I loved your story and character's keep it up!'

It just. It amazes me how people always seem to follow the ones, that insult their writing and say 'Oh thank you for pointing out my mistakes!' WTF? That person INSULTED your writing, and your actually thanking them? Even if it's true I would be like 'What's your problem? You're not telling me my mistakes, you're just insulting my writing not helping me at all.'

Then the same blogger said, there are stories that have excellent grammar/plot/character development but if the plot is just totally boring and not exciting they won't read it. What matter's is the plot.

What are your views on that?

Yes grammar/spelling/puncuation are HUGELY important in novel's and fanfiction, but even if the story had good grammar/spelling/puncuation if the plot was dull and the character's were dull I just wouldn't read it I'm sorry. I've read stories on here where the writer's do make mistakes in grammar/spelling but I just ignore them, and enjoy the story if it has an eye catching plot :)

Sorry if I offend anybody I've just been thinking about this for awhile now....
