Personality: Narim is a quirky, pure, and playful girl. She likes to play around and go with the flow. But when it comes to something important, she will be serious about it. Though she can be hyper and active, she is quite blunt and akward. She says whatever comes to mind. Sometimes whatever she says or does creates an akward atmosphere. She is also very observant and is able to detect small and simple mistakes or mishaps. Narim is a person who cannot stand/sit still. Narim loves the outdoors and would mostly be found at the park, the gym, the dance studio, or the music room. Narim is modest, humble, and respectful to her elders. But when she gets to know them better, she treats them as her equal. When she is put in charge of something, she will panic because she feels under pressure. She is the peacemaker and wants an argument to end smoothly. She likes to buy things for people.

Bio: Narim was born in Manhattan, New York where her parents and older brother still reside. She was active in soccer, basketball, and hockey. She also took tae kwon do for 4 years. Narim was well known in her school’s band. She knew lots of songs and could sing any of them. She also took dance classes for 6 years and was one of the top dancers. When she was thirteen, Narim found out that SM was having global auditions and wanted to join. Her parents were reluctant at first, but soon supported her. Narim was recruited at the 2005 SM Global Auditions. She went to Seoul alone and lived with her aunt. At the company, she was well known among the workers and sunbaes and was envied by the trainees. The trainees intimidated her and trash talked her that Narim left the company. A few months later, a scout of Woollim Entertainment discovered her singing at her aunt’s café and asked her if she wanted to join the company. She agreed.
