Chaeyeon prefers to work with the books, but lately she's been filling more in the barista role as customers come in to view the area and take pictures of the setting than actually read a book or even purchase one. Also due to her young age, she's been tasked with monitoring the SNS accounts to draw in more attention and to keep the page updated. Same goes for the planning of future events as she doesn't really have much books to sell and the customers seem to enjoy live music and refreshments more than quietly reading. Still, she'll quietly read a book or organize them and the store when there are no customers.

PERSONALITY Chaeyeon is a kind and pleasant person that shows good and affectionate terms with others, but more so with those that she's close and comfortable with. With strangers and acquaintances she's polite and slightly friendly. Chaeyeon is also someone that effortlessly shows her sincere and intense ways although at times may be seen as a bit too serious for others. Even so, Chaeyeon is quite capable of being trusted and dependable as well because of this. Chaeyeon is also someone who likes engaging in actual physical activities and anything else that gets her gears going, especially with her mind or imagination that makes her alert and adaptable.
Chaeyeon is also the type of person that doesn't need a lot of things to live with or by and makes and does with little as possible if needs me. Although at times she may go a bit overboard if it's something, somewhere, or someone unfamiliar, but in general she prefers only having the necessary things that she really needs as she can always come back to if there's still time or if she's still interested. Anyways, Chaeyeon is also a person who distracts herself with being physical to exert extra energy and to just relieve her mind and stress because she just needs to release it and not to bottle it all in. Plus, Chaeyeon needs the energy if she wants to get through her day without being too tired or even lazy. Other than that, Chaeyeon may judge others secretly, but she would never voice it out as everyone has their own right and way of doing things and thinking. So she's chill and let others do them while she does her own thing.
Anyways, Chaeyeon isn't someone that does things on impulsive and so she's actually careful to avoid anything that she isn't used to or knows that it isn't right and deems as possibly dangerous towards her well-being and others. This causes her to be hesitant at times because she doesn't make decisions as quickly as she would like to or have them be as effected as they should be, but then again Chaeyeon will take a moment to see if any of it is worth it and she'll give it a try first. Often times though Chaeyeon can be a bit strong-willed and difficult when she believes she's in the right as long as she sees it that way until proven wrong and she admit humble defeat. However at times it may cause her to be a little fond of causing some trouble in a playful sort of way where it isn't harmful to anyone or anything. Then again, Chaeyeon's a little weird and some things that don't make sense to others just makes perfect sense to her.
All in all, Chaeyeon can be shy and reserved with strangers or people she can't vibe with. However she does act and behave differently with those she feels a different sort of level of being comfortable with though and will let her guard down as a sort of trust within them. Chaeyeon is also a person that needs to recharge a few times and enjoys her 'me time' and really needs these moments to go about her day if she has to interact with others and speak to them more often than she would like. Anyways, if you're good to Chaeyeon with even good intentions, then she'll be good to you no matter what. Just don't mess with her as she doesn't have time to play dumb games and gives out even dumber prizes. Because honestly, she won't bother with others' bull and will just go about her way if it doesn't concern her or she's not forced to deal with it. Still, if they don't leave her alone or continue, then she'll let them know for sure.

BACKGROUND Chaeyeon is the middle child of three daughters. She grew up in a high middle class family with her father a businessman and her mother a nurse. Her mother retired and became a SAHM when Chaewon turned three. the whole family actually moved back to Seoul to be closer to their mother's sickly parents when Chaeyeon was ten.
the adjustment was not that hard as they had traveled a lot when they were younger, but they did have to get used to doing things the korean and traditional way as this was where they were now living. when they gotten older did they travel back often to the US to visit their dad's side of the family even if it was just the three girls.
besides that, Chaeyeon had a functional family life and school life was okay. she stayed under the radar and didn't feel pressured to be better than the others, but enough for her own self. she did well without being top scorer, but not as bad to receive demerits or extra classes. still, Chaerin was likely the best and smart elder daughter as she went into the route of being a doctor while Chaewon wanted to run her own business some day.
as for Chaeyeon, she chose to be a veterinarian was because she wanted to work with animals instead of people. as for working at a bookstore it was the same reason, but she felt more relaxed being able to read compare to physically interacting with a pet as she would still have to interact with the owner or people.
anyways, Chaeyeon has always lived a peaceful life and a quaint way and never really ventured much on her own unless it was with her family. her sisters are more out-going than she is and so she just does whatever it is they want to do and just gets dragged along in their adventures unless she herself find some thing of interest and will pursue it.

— Jake Sim Jaeyun, tutor, schoolmate, friend, mistaken crush in the past (a classmate made Chaeyeon give a love letter to Jake, but the assumption to the other schoolmates was made that Chaeyeon had a crush on Jake when he gave back the paper to her correcting the grammatical errors, yet Chaeyeon never clarified the misunderstanding, but Jake knew the difference in hers and the classmates' handwriting though. it just he didn't know which of the classmate that had a crush on him was and so just gave it to the person that gave it to him in the first place), the pair are pretty friendly, calm, and chill with one another, but don't really hang out that often or run in the same social circle. like they do greet each other when they see one another, text at times, and call if needed, but that's about it. some even get surprise when they find out the two are actual friends and not strangers. others also thought she was just someone Jake tutored. still, both Jake and Chaeyeon enjoy the different reactions their weird friendship seemed to have on people, especially when they discover that she and him often go fishing once in a few months or such. after that love letter incide, the two shared it like an inside joke and just became quiet friends since that incident.

Chaeyeon at first thought it was just books, but then realizes she has to manage the cafe portion and live music events as the books don't sell like they used to.

THE CRISIS for Chaeyeon she has always been somewhat of a wallflower and going with the flow sort of person. she's pretty much reserved and won't go out of her way to be spontaneous of her own accord. Chaeyeon would like to be more out-going and do things differently than what she normally does. like she wants to scream at the top of her lungs on a rooftop of a building or rollercoaster ride. have a food fight and then run away without having to clean up the mess. do random dances or poses in public without anyone caring if they watch her or something like that. just those sort of fun adventures that she's not with her own siblings as it feels different because family is always a safety net to her. so she knows what her siblings will do and how to go about it, but for herself she doesn't want that predicitability.

PERSONALITY Jay is your typical 'don't judge a book by it's appearance' phrase. He may come off as intimidating at first, but once you really get to know him, Jay is really a down-to-earth sort of guy. He's not afraid to be himself and not afraid to hide the parts of him. MEETING unofficially, they've crossed paths before, but without knowing of the other as they had no reason to interact. also, Chaeyeon has photobombed Jay's pictures many times without meaning to. the same is with Jay into hers. (this is how Chaewon/Melanie noticed Jay in Chaeyeon/Serena's posts)
anyways, they're first official meeting is when Chaeyeon and Chaewon get ice cream and the two bump into Jay and Jungwon with Chaeyeon accidentally smearing her ice cream onto Jay's shirt. unfortunately Chaeyeon doesn't get to apologize properly to Jay as Chaewon drags her away out of embarrassment in front of Jungwon. Chaeyeon forgets the incident, but Jay brings it up when they meet again later on.
INTERACTIONS honestly the two are just polite to each other and around one another. it's not like they have any other reason to socialize as they don't really run in the same group of friends or have the same classes either. eventually a lot of crossing paths occurs which causes them to bump into one another more often than not and so they develop a sort of friendship to say the least to which they don't acknowledge as friends, but as mutuals.
the both eventually start thinking of the other unconsciously are reminded of one another with small things that makes them recall a moment of sorts. they really don't realize they had grown on the other or that they come to think of the other as a little something more.
anyways, at first they're just polite chit-chat and casual conversations, but then it moves onto to friendly bantering. next it gets weird when they respond the same thing at the same time when asked a question... mostly it's four out of five times they agreed to things without meaning to.
as for getting together, they're both inexperience and dunno if they should try dating or something. they're comfortable where they're at as they feel they don't really match the other with one being full of energy and the other quite reserved. although they do learn that it helps balance the both of them to learn more about themselves and how to adapt to others. still they just need a literal shove or two to take the next step and test their feelings to the next level of their relationship to experience for sure of what they're feeling.

Then Chaewon suggests the same idea later on as she's bringing Jungwon and that Jungwon will need a friend to hang out with. Chaeyeon rolls her eyes, but eventually asks Jay if he wants to go and even explains that Jungwon will be there, too. In Chaeyeon's mind, if Jay rejects the invitation she's gonna ask her foodstagrammer friends instead (lol), but if he accepts, she has no idea why he would come along (lol) and just has to accept the reality of it.

QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS? hi! finally got to finishing this and hope you like Chaeyeon/Serena! either name works for her if she's chosen! please do let me know about any revisions!! as i was working on like all the parts of the app bit by bit and jumping around lol i also included some other things to help with her IG feed and twitter account as well. the same for Jay, too. let me know if need any revising. i also used the story of Jake's love letter incident and thought it would be nice to include here lol, but yeah. oh, i will also remove Jungwon as Melanie's crush if another applicant decides to use Jungwon as a love interest! that is if Yeon/Rena is chosen of course! anyways, have a good day! good luck with writing the story and hope more applicants come through!! oh and a few more things, i used my own images for Chaeyeon's IG and TWT bit and related images for all idols used based on their own IG, TWT, other photos, and some of my own siblings. if this needs changing, then please do let me know!
EDT: hi! hopefully clarification is all good now! anyways, so i was researching up Daeo Bookstore again and found out that it's not really a bookstore anymore, but more of a museum of sorts with a cafe and live music venue set-up. is it okay to still use it and tweak it or would you prefer for a different location? please and thank you!
PASSWORD food is better shared with others. especially with those you care for and are close with. another plus of eating with others is that you each can order one different dish and eventually just share all of it in the end.
