I Wish I Was An Amnesiac Teenager

There's this 2009 japanese movie that I watched. It's called Memoirs of A Teenage Amnesiac (I also call it the movie with a LOT of kissing scenes) which starred Horikita Maki, Kennichi Matsuyama and Yuya Tegoshi. It has been a long time since I last watched a japanese film (hmmm... when was it...? Hana Yori Dango Final, I think...?). Anyway, so I had some culture shock probably because I have already been used to dramatic korean movies. This wasn't too dramatic. It was about Horikita Maki losing her memory of the last 4 years before her accident. It made her forget Yuya who was her bestfriend and her american boyfriend. Shall I note that western looks don't appeal to me anymore? I should really note here that the american guy looked like nothing special. Ranting aside, well, since she forgot about certain people, her bestfriend tried to help her regain what she lost. In the process, she broke nup with the american guy (who was a total JERK) and got out with this emotionally-unstable Kennichi Matsuyama. Kennichi's past here wasn't really clear. All I understood was that he once became crazy because of too much depression. And here's one cute thing, Maki helped him kind of... recover from that. But soon after they started dating, this emotional guy had to fly to Los Angeles for his studies. Maki followed him after she recieved a call that he wanted to see her. But after that incident, they hadn't contacted each other. A few more time passed and she lost her relationship with Yuya. Then, she was left with nothing. When she tried calling her boyfriend, Maki learned that he was in the hospital, getting treatment for he started to lose himself once again. After having some talk with Yuya and Kennichi, she finally confessed that she regained her memory a long time ago. Both parties became mad but, since Maki was just so ever lovable, she was easily forgiven by her ever-loving best friend. Things started to be clear then as to why her accident happened. It turned out that Maki and Yuya were planning to settle down (I call it that was... or do you prefer get serious with each other) and let their friendship bloom into LOVE. It was one of a kind. Having three lovable (yet, the american guy was a total jerk) men around you is just plain comfortable. It was kind of amazing how they all managed to be friends after bitter break ups and fistfights (yes, I'm jealous). But this story really is beautiful. Though I can only give it a four out of five, the characters still had an effect on me and on how I look at things. You should watch it!
