Jungah was born in Mandeok-dong, Busan, South Korea. Being 10 years younger than her oldest brother and 8 years younger than her youngest brother she was the baby. Being the only girl and the fact that her parents were older when they had her they were more lenient on her. She was babied a lot by her whole family. She was closest to her youngest brother that was 8 years older than her, he truly adored his little sister and brought her everywhere. For the first 6 years of her life he was her main babysitter when his parents were at work. Usually boys would be embarrassed to take their sister to hang with his friends but not him, and his friends took care of her like a little sister too. He was into badminton so he taught her how to play, he later fell in love with singing and dancing and Jungah would beg her mom to sit and watch his classes through the glass. Because of him she took ballet classes that he took her to himself. Whenever he practiced at home she was there to watch him and dance along. They even went on brother sister karaoke dates so he could practice his singing. Jungah knew her brother would be famous someday but she didn’t know it would mean he would go away.

When she turned six he moved to Seoul and she rarely saw him. The day he had to leave she cried so much that it made him cry, she missed school that day to take him to Seoul with her mom. She didn’t understand what training was but her mom told her that if he was going to be famous he had to do it. They still talked on the phone from time to time and their parents would send emails of updates and pictures and Jungah’s ballet recitals since he couldn’t have a phone. Even if he was going through a hard time, listening to Jungah made him smile immediately. Jungah was naive so she didn’t realize that her brother was crying when she talked, she thought he had a cold and told him to eat ginseng chicken soup. After every call she said “keep going oppa! fighting!” and she still has no idea how much that motivated him.

Her brother made his debut in 2013 when she was 8, she went to his showcase and she thought that her brother was super famous already even though it wasn’t the case. It was the first time she physically saw him in two years and they both cried just like when they left each other. To her the small showcase full of a few fans and reporters was like a stadium and it only made her look up to him even more. After seeing the showcase Jungah decided that she wanted to take hiphop dance lessons just like her brother so she could also be famous and they could perform together.

From that year forward Jungah took dancing a lot more seriously. Her dancing improved quickly but her relationship with her brother became more distant. His group struggled at first but they really started taking off in 2016 when Jungah was 11. But no one anticipated how famous they’d truly get. Before they would at least call once a week and she’d show him the dance she learned but after their fame went international and they were known as BTS globally, she went weeks and months without hearing from him.

She was proud of her brother, even more proud to be the sister of Jeon Jungkook but she had to keep it a secret for privacy reasons. Her family moved to a nicer neighborhood in Busan and Jungah went to a nicer school. She saw how almost all of the girls in her class fangirled over BTS yet no one knew she was his sister. Whenever they had a performance in Seoul or Busan, Jungah and her family was there to support them. She realized that the debut showcase was nothing compared to the fame they had now. It only made her dream of being an idol grow stronger.

When Jungkook went home for the first time in a long time in 2019, Jungah expressed that she wanted to join a company to train. She thought it was time to put herself out there, it was like she was in hiding just taking dance classes in vain. She never performed or posted her dancing on social media. 14 was the perfect training age too. Her parents were worried about letting her train since they knew how hard it was for Jungkook but after learning from him that Source Music was partnering with Hybe for a girl group they let her try out because at least her brother would protect her. So in 2019 Jungah sent in a video audition and passed within the same week. By the following week, she was in Seoul as a Hybe trainee.

🌸 She likes learning other group dances and trying to choreograph

🌸 One time when she was little she ate yellow snow. She'd love to tell that story on knowing bros. Like the segment where they guess what it is

🌸 She can't cook at all, it took her an hour to cook ramen when she was home alone because she wasn't sure how long an egg had to cook for it to be runny. Spoiler alert, it wasn't runny

🌸 She hates shopping because it's so boring to her, same with fittings she messes around a lot during those. She rather shop online 

🌸 She hates waking up early, she's the worst to wake up because she always turns off her alarm or "forgets" to set it so someone has to wake her up and she acts like she doesn't hear your so you gotta drag her outta bed and she's a big whiny baby

🌸 She likes to go on walks in the night when she's sad, just walk a few steps behind her bc she's afraid of the dark and would hate going alone

🌸 She enjoys watching cartoons while she eats breakfast or when she's sad because it reminds her of a better time when she was a kid and Jungkook spent so much time with her

🌸 She likes web dramas and mangas/manhwas. She squeals whenever they do spicy things.  

🌸 She kissed a boy in elementary school and dated him for 4 days but she broke up with him because he wouldn't share his candy with her. That was her first and last relationship. She still gets mad talking about it.

She loved every moment of training. It wasn’t easy and she too had times where she cried but being around others who loved dance and getting closer to debut made it all worth it. It was known around the company that she was one of the main girls on their way to debut. The way the staff talked to highly of her there was no way she wouldn’t. Even Min Heejin called her Hybe’s secret weapon.

There was a time when Jungah hurt her ankle and she couldn’t put as much effort into dancing as she usually would. The dance instructor was evaluating them to choose who the center would be and even with her hurt ankle she got the center position. It was weird because she was in the debut level of trainees so they were all insanely good. She wondered if it had to do with the fact that Jungkook would be at that monthly evaluation. When they performed she was obviously under the weather and didn’t do so as well as she should but she still got praised while some of her other group mates got reprimanded. Even more strange Jungkook mentioned during the evaluation that it’s bad to dance with a hurt ankle since it could just make it worse and she should take a break. For the last two years she barely rested but the Hybe staff forced her to take a week vacation and go back home, even wrote her a note so she could miss school.

That’s when she realized that none of her effort was organic, Jungkook was pulling the strings behind the scenes and she hated it. Her dream wasn’t to get famous because of her brother. She wanted to get famous because she had talent. She thought a lot that week she was at home and when she went back she terminated her contract. Everyone thought she was insane but her pride wouldn’t let her get handed her dream.

Jungah got contacted by Cube Entertainment soon after she left Hybe in early 2021. When she joined Cube some of the trainees heard of her, she was the infamous Hybe trainee. She was afraid she couldn’t live up to the hype but at Cube she proved to be just as strong of a dancer. Whenever she got bad reviews she actually smiled and said “I’ll work harder!” because she knew that no one was giving her special treatment. Unlucky for her Lightsum just debuted so they had no intention of debuting a new girl group soon.

In the meanwhile she saw news articles about Hybe’s new girl groups that gained so much hype from knetz, she knew that that could’ve been her and sometimes thought if she made a mistake. After two years of training at Cube she got a call from Be:Lift asking her to join them again. The first thing she did was ask Jungkook if he was behind it, but he was in America at the time and had no idea. She was still in limbo at Cube, unsure if she'd ever debut. So she terminated her contract and joined Be:Lift.

A few months after joining Be:Lift she was added onto Cherrubliss's lineup and on their predebut show. She was well liked by the public because of her bubbly personality. Her popularity was somewehre in the middle but she was far from unpopular. That's why when the official positions came out and she was the center and triple threat, many were confused. She wasn't the most popular and she was known as more of a dancer than a triple threat. Even she was susprised. But Be:Lift knew what they were doing, her secret identity of being Jungkook's sister wouldn't last long and they wanted her front and center when it happened.
