Anyone interested in reading queer fairy tales for my research?

Greetings! I hope everyone's doing well <3

Disclaimer: I know this isn't related to kpop or fanfiction, but I promise this is worth it.

I started writing fanfiction around 12?13? years ago, and have been writing and reading stories on this website for a decade now. The community I found here was very precious to me as a result: I found like-minded people who enjoyed the same bands as me (and especially in a time when kpop was barely known in my country, this meant a lot to me). I also learned to be more comfortable with exploring myself as a writer and a person. The fanfiction community helped me become more and more open-minded, and even was a huge part of me understanding and accepting my own ual orientation. It was this same spirit that pushed me to delve further into the relation between literature and gender and uality, and it's thanks to this that I am where I am today.

I'm a PhD scholar from India, and my thesis focuses on recently published queer retellings of classic fairy tales. A part of my research involves a reading group: Each individual would be given a book of their choice out of five in a list (to be sent to the participant after registering here: https://forms.gle/VdAhbCf1vRE87FgX8). Upon filling this form out, the individual would be sent an Information Booklet to get the full idea of their involvement in the Reading Group, the privacy measures taken to ensure anonymity at all stages right from data collection to the thesis itself etc. Once the individual reads the booklet and confirms their novel(s) of choice, their participation would commence as explained in the booklet.

The data collected from the anonymous reading group would be used to substantiate my argument that queer retellings of classic literature, especially fairy tales, is necessary to encourage a better understanding of gender identity and uality in people early on as opposed to the classics forcing heteronormativity.

It would mean the world to me if anyone out there who is reading this right now, would be interested in participating in my anonymous reading group. Filling the registration form doesn't bind anyone to it - participants are free to sit out at any point; and throughout, their privacy and confidentiality of data is of utmost priority.

If you or anyone you know might be interested, pelase do pass this post and form link on.

Thank you! <3
