you know those kids that everyone in their small town knows? that was hanbyul. she matched her name to a tee, born to be a star. from a small town in andong where everyone knows each other, hanbyul dreamed of getting out. her parents owned a SOUVENIR shop in hanoe folk village, the most notable folk village in South Korea. you'd think that with such a popular place you'd think they'd be rich from all the tourists but they were for from it.
Hanbyul has been helping out at the shop since she was young. Using her chidish charm to get tourists in the shop. But she knew she wanted more from life than that. Everyday she'd come back from helping at the shop and watch Kdramas with her mom. It was watching boys over flowers that made her want to become an actress. Her brother teased that it was just because she wanted to be around good looking guys and maybe that's true but it’s still her dream nonetheless.
She joined the local theatre school performing for both locals and tourists alike. Whether it was a traditional Korean play or dance or something like the Wizard of Oz she put all her effort into it. The people in her community knew her as Andong’s little star. Ready to see her take Korea by storm.
For college she got into Korea National University of Arts for theatre on a partial scholarship. Her parents didn't have the money to pay for the rest of her studies so she decided to join the might.

Personality expanded — Hanbyul is a people person, she loves making new friends and will spark a conversation with about anyone who's willing to talk or listen. Even birds or bugs if they stick around long enough. She's an open book most of the time and loves discussing and debating about different topics. A conversation with Hanbyul can go on for hours about the simplest topics as she always finds something interesting to bring up, even on a topic about cheese. probably because she grew up trying to get customers in her parents shop and the fact that she has an older brother she's good at staying on her toes with her quickwittedness.
She is a risk-taker and the first to volunteer to try things even though she knows she's a clumsy mess so it usually ends up with her on the floor laughing her off. She's fun loving and enthusiastic about everything, like a big ball of energy that never seems to stop. Her view on life is that with a little bit of effort, anything is possible. Look at her, she’s from a small town and now going to the best performing arts college in Korea.
Life is a gift, so why waste it? Her optimistic look on life makes her a motivation to other people who can't view the world in that way and get burned out easily. If she falls, she tries again, and again, and again until she succeeds. But this kind of mindset can also be negative because she isn't the type to notice dangers since she sees beauty and kindness in everything. It actually makes her naive since she's so trusting, always trying to see the bright side of things even when in a tough situation. Some might say she has her head in the clouds living in a lala land since the world is actually a cruel and brutal place.
When hanbyul wants something, she puts her all into it. But she will get distracted a few times on the way which is why she needs to be monitored at times to make sure she stays on track or at least have someone remind her. She can no longer count on her fingers how many times she almost burned her house down. But when she genuinely wants to do something and has a goal, she'll get it done. Of course that doesn't mean all work with no play.
As for her emotions, she's a very emotional girl which makes it easy for her to empathize with other people. She enjoys helping people and has a strong moral compass. As a performer at heart hanbyul can't help but be dramatic. It’s like every possible feeling she could ever feel is amplified. When she falls she falls big, when she gets a paper cut she acts like she just got shot. When someone says something slightly mean to her or if she just takes it the wrong way she cries. Her emotional outbreaks never last long though. Something as simple as banana milk can make her happy again.
Since she's been auditioning for different roles you never know what you’ll get when you talk to her. She might act like a different person each day because she's practicing for a role or will randomly burst out into her lines of a script this trying to memorize. She takes her RESPONSIBILITies very seriously, normal hanbyul might be nice but give her a leadership position and she turns into dictator hanbyul that'll run the place like its the military. She also just likes taking on random roles to see if her acting is believable or not. Sometimes at the worst times possible. how she responds to things depends on what character she's taking on. some might even call her bipolar or crazy. but she's just a girl with a dream.
