Hayeon is a people person, she loves making new friends and will spark a conversation with about anyone who's willing to talk or listen. Even birds or bugs if they stick around long enough. She's an open book most of the time and loves discussing and debating about different topics. A conversation with hayeon can go on for hours about the simplest topics as she always finds something interesting to bring up, even on a topic about cheese. 

She is a risk-taker and the first to volunteer to try things even though she knows she's a clumsy mess so it usually ends up with her on the floor laughing her off. She's fun loving and enthusiastic about everything, like a big ball of energy that never seems to stop. Her view on life is that with a little bit of effort, anything is possible. Life is a gift, so why waste it? Her optimistic look on life makes her a motivation to other people who can't view the world in that way and get burned out easily. If she falls, she tries again, and again, and again until she succeeds. But this kind of mindset can also be negative because she isn't the type to notice dangers since she sees beauty and kindness in everything. It actually makes her naive since she's so trusting, always trying to see the bright side of things even when in a tough situation. Some might say she has her head in the clouds living in a lala land since the world is actually a cruel and brutal place.

When hayeon wants something, she puts her all into it. But she will get distracted a few times on the way which is why she needs to be monitored at times to make sure she stays on track or at least have someone remind her. She can no longer count on her fingers how many times she almost burned her house down. But when she genuinely wants to do something and has a goal, she'll get it done. Of course that doesn't mean all work with no play.

As for her emotions, she's a very emotional girl which makes it easy for her to empathize with other people. She enjoys helping people and likes to make sure her friends are ok even if she's not. She really good at holding her feelings in, especially her tears. She cries for little things like movies or when she seess a rainbow outside but she barely genuinely cries. She wants to be a happy person and make others happy so she prefers not to talk about sad or mad feelings at all. Even when there's a conflict she rather solve it quickly to keep the peace even if she's hurt by the decision. She never talks to anyone about her emotions, instead she writes it all in a diary at the end of the day. 

As a whole, hayeon is just a happy-go-lucky girl who wants everyone to be happy. She puts on a smile to lift up the mood of everyone around her even if she's dying inside. She's loyal to a fault and treasues close relationships, especially since her relationship with her family turned sour. She has a hard time letting those close to her go so if you're her friend, you have a friend for life that's always by your sides through the ups and even the downs. Honestly even if you're not her friend she'll still help you if you need it.

Hayeon was the first born of kim sihyun and lee hansol. Lee hansol is a wealthy business man and sihyun is the owner of a luxury clothing boutique. Hansol was an older man and sihyun had hayeon at a young age of 19. Luckily Hansol had money already and was able to take care of her but her relationship with her parents deteriorated because of it. Thankfully Hayeon grew up with no troubles in life, both parents were making good money so she always got what she wanted but never let it get to her head. She was a little bit of a wild child but not in a bad way, she still reached all her parents expectations and was loved by their peers. A cute little angel that could do no wrong. Her brother was born when she was 4 and it was the happiest day of her life because she could finally have someone to play with. Hayeon babied Haon like crazy and he became even more spoiled than her.

Hayeon’s school life was great, she went to the school near eden. she got top of her class and was the class president almost every year. Even in elementary school she was the line leader. She was very social and friendly and everyone knew her just for being such a positive and nice person. Everyone expected her to do great things in the future. In her second year of high school hayeon met kwon jinsoo, a new student and probably the most beautiful boy she’s ever seen. A lot of people liked him but it was hayeon that caught his eye and the two started dated half way through their second year. Jinsoo was hayeon’s first real boyfriend, she had one in elementary school but she caught him holding hands with another girl during recess and broke up with him. But jinsoo, he was like the perfect guy, smart, handsome, gentle, friendly. Everything that hayeon wanted in a boy. He even met her family who loved him unlike her best friend Aeri. Hayeon’s parents didnt like aeri just because she was a haesol village resident but jinsoo was rich like them so it all worked out, his parents liked her too. Hayeon spent a lot of time with jinsoo but always made sure to drag aeri along so she wouldn't feel left out.

Hayeon found out she was pregnant during her final year of high school. She heard a bunch of freshman talking about how you can't get pregnant during the first time so she believed it but apparently freshman aren't the best source for ed. Aeri was the first one that found out, she went with her to buy the test and was in the bathroom with aeri holding her hand when she found out because she didn't want to be alone.

Hayeon always loved kids and even wanted to be a pre school teacher so she was excited about it and so was Jinsoo. The two naive kiddos were happy to start their own family, Jinsoo became more attentive and protective to her, basically the perfect boyfriend. They stopped at every little kids store they saw to fantasize about how their life would be as a family. They even tried to watch a pregnancy video but jinsoo threw up so they stopped it half way. Aeri was the one that brought them back down to earth and told them how hard it was to raise a baby and reminded them that they had to tell their parents eventually.

Luckily for Hayeon she carried small so she still went to school for most of her pregnancy and was able to hide it. By the time Hayeon was 5 months, she had a little bump that was starting to get hard to hide with just big sweaters. her and jinsoo agreed to tell their parents during the her 5th month and report back to each other that night.

When Hayeon happily blurted it out during dinner with her family, she expected them to be just as happy as her and throw confetti and dance around, but their reaction was the complete opposite. The Lee's were known around town for being basically perfect, everyone knew hayeon and haon, her mothers boutique had a bunch of wealthy clients, it was like an exclusive gem in their neighborhood and her dad was a well known business man with many friends. They all knew hayeon was a little interesting but she was sweet and innocent and there was no way that she could possibly be a teen mom. Sihyun didn't come from a rich family and she often lied about her own age so no one would do the math and know she had Hayeon so young. She knew the struggles of it and didn't want her to face the same thing. If anyone found out that hayeon was pregnant it would ruin the family repuation and everything they worked so hard for.

Sihyun gave her daughter an ultimatum to either get rid of the baby and live life normally or keep the baby and leave. Hayeon refused to get rid of her baby so that same night she packed her hello kitty suitcase and left. Sihyun thought that after a few weeks she would come running back home and listen to her mother but boy was she wrong. The first place she went was Jinsoo's house but his parents wouldn't even let her inside and ordered her to never see their son again. With no where else to go, hayeon went to the person she knew would always be there for her, aeri.

Hayeon lived with aeri and her grandma, She didn't want to give aeri and her grandma an extra burden so she paid rent to them. their house was in a shady neighborhood of haesol village but of course she didn't know since she's never been in a shady neighborhood before so she called it "vintage". She hid the fact that she was pregnant and didn't go to school for her family, but it still hurt. Aeri recorded the classes and she would still give in all the homework, her grades slipped because she couldn't take the tests but she just wanted to graduate anyways. Which is the only reason she didn't give up. Somehow rumors got around that she was pregnant and Jinsoo denied it was his baby, acted like they broke up yet secretly went to see her at her house after baseball practice to spend time with her even though he was scared of walking around that neighborhood. He wasn't supposed to see her but he still loved her and couldn't leave her alone. Hayeon didn't attend graduation but aeri brought back home her certificate for her and they had their own photoshoot in ther caps and gowns on their own. She didn't even bother applying to college because she didn't think it would be possibly to balance a baby and school.

She got a job at She spent the summer after highschool working at a cafe, she spent time with aeri and sometimes jinsoo whenever he could sneak away from his parents. The only issue was she didn't have much contact with her family besides her brother who would skip soccer practice to go see her at times, but she didn't let that ruin her mood. Pregnancy wasn't all that bad.

To hayeon being a mom to a newborn baby was fun, she liked making him laugh and seeing him smile, even if it came with the poopies and throwup and crying. Minguk smiling made all the hard times seem worth it, her favorite part of the day is reading to him and playing with him. She seems to have more fun with that than him and he just watches her in amusement instead of listening to the story.

She still worked only part time though about 3-4 times a week. Aeri actually adjusted her school and work schedule around hayeon's work schedule so she can babysit minguk whenever she had work. living in haesol has opened hayeon's eyes to a whole new world of wealth disparity and discrimination that she has never seen before. especially since she's raising a baby in that neighborhood she wants it to be safe and thrive. but she doesn't know if she could say anything when technically she's apart of the problem. though the people of haesol has treated her more like family than her actual family.
