della's mubank - 8

"It's about you, it's about me. It's our story-- let's do it!"

Hello everyone! I'm Della, back with a new mubank. Today, I'll be presenting, "Not One, But Two (혼자가 아닌 둘)" by Boyfriend (or, as they now go by, BF.)

I think this song is a sort of charming, little hidden gem. It's full of that classic second-gen synth and clean piano. It's a very pleasant and gentle song to listen to (in this style), and perfect for walking down a city street on a not-too-cold and cloudy day. All of the members' voices are also easy on the ears and help convey the slightly dreamy theme more, and the muffled add-ons throughout the song are a nice touch!

I didn't mind the break all that much either. It doesn't make much of a split in between the chorus and the bridge; while it sounds rather different, that lightness in the rest of the song isn't lost.

Onto the lyrics! They're crazy about you, and are endlessly falling for you. The pace of their heart doubles when they think about you and their feelings for you, hence the title. They call you the person they've hoped and dreamed about in their life, and they want to have you to themselves, in disbelief that they can spend time with you and be with you. If there's one line that would sum it all from from the lyrics themselves, it would be, "When I'm with you, I feel like I will fly."

Some parts of the lyrics are a little off-putting to me though, like when they say that they're the only man for you and that they know you're also interested in them. It's sort of like they assume you're interested in them because they're interesting in you, do you know what I'm saying? It's a little uncomfy and pressurizing (at least, I'd feel that way if someone I knew were to say that). But in the context of the listener's and singer's relationship in this specific song's storyline, maybe it won't be that way as much? I don't know. What do you think?

But, overall, it has a nice sweet and dreamy sound, with lyrics that feel that they belong in one of those cheesy teen romance shows or books (and I mean that mostly affectionately).
