luna is your annoying little sister that you probably didn't ask for and want to choke lowkey but love anyways. her constant energy can be tiring but you better get used to it because its not going anywhere. the only time she'll shut up is when she's really tired or really sad. her default emotion is happy but she feels other emotions very strongly for a short amount of time. if she's upset for a long time then it must've really got to her. she isn't very passive and will speak up if she disagrees with something but won't be rude about it, maybe a little sassy but never intentionally rude. 

her impulsiveness makes her short tempered since she feels emotions so suddenly and strongly, being a teenage girl doesn't help much either in that department. she would scream at the top of her lungs with her high voice and even firebend at someone if you make her mad enough, maybe even threaten you by taking off her headband but she would never use her combustion bending against someone like that. 

luna sees the good side to everything and everyone, if she joins the avatar gang she would soon becomes known for her motivational speeches that are along the lines of wtf is she saying and aww thats sweet. she has a bad habit of trusting everyone too easily since the people of chin village are so nice she expects everyone else to be the same. she often rambles on and on when she talks and accidentally saying her own secrets or somebody elses like an idiot. then she'll catch herself and try to convince the person that she didn't say what she just said. she's also blunt and will tell you the honest truth but will somehow sugarcoat it at the end so it doesn't sound as bad. for example, if you ask her how you look today knowing you don't look as good as usual, she'll probably say "well your face is bloated and you kind of look ugly, but its ok! beauty is in the eye of the beeholder!" sometimes her honesty can hurt but its better than lying.

even though she's a dumbo she's really loyal and will stand by her beliefs even if its proved wrong because she's stubborn like that. it'll take a lot for her to change her mind about something. her friend can say the sky is red and it's obviously blue but she'll still say its red because her friend said it and her friend wouldn't lie to her. the same goes for her determination, when she wants something she goes for it no matter what. 

surprisingly despite seeming like the biggest airhead in the earth kingdom she's actually really good at math and can calculate how far something is just by looking at it and do hard math equations in her head with ease. her way of thinking is outside the box and creative, she can actually be effortlessly strategic when you least expect it. some of her plans are pure gold and you just question how such a mess of a girl could come up with something so elbaroate out of the blue. which makes you think that maybe she's not an idiot, maybe she's actually a genius.  

꘎♡━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ BACKGROUND  ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━♡꘎ 

luna was born in chin village in 83AG to a nonbender earth kingdom mom, xing, and a firebending father, takeshi, who was no where to be found by the time she was born. xing was worried about luna’s birth because she feared being kicked out of chin village if luna was able to firebend. but instead she got something better, a beautiful baby girl born with a unique birthmark on her forehead shaped like a eye and the ability to blow things up. xing didn’t realize it until she got home from the hospital and luna sneezed for the first time splitting the dining table into a bunch of little pieces.

as soon as luna hit six she discovered her firebending powers too and man her mother was in for a rollercoaster. luna spent her childhood blowing things up around the house and secretly putting a little heat under peoples and innocently looking away. she used their backyard as a place to practice her skills; she set up targets at various distances to practice blowing them up and fire bended around the yard beating up imaginary enemies. her mom never got her a firebending master one because she didn't know one and two because she just wanted to live a regular quiet life in chin village, she didn't want luna to use her bending because she saw it as dangerous.

xing was actually born and grew up in a small earth kingdom village that got taken over by fire nation. her father was a soldier and died in the war when she was little so she already had a bad view of the war. when the fire nation took over her town it only worsened her opinion on them, to make matters worse her mom grew ill and she had to make ends meet by herself. she worked at a massage parlor with a messy reputation for sometimes doing more than massages because she heard they had really good tips and almost all the money she made went to taking care of her mother. a year after starting her job she met takeshi, aka captain takeshi as he was known in the fire nation. he was a ruthless killer and known among the fire nation for his high kill rates and was responsilbe for destroying many villages in the earth kingdom.

he met xing at her workplace and they were both just a means to an end at first. she wanted money and he wanted a good time. but the longer he stayed the more fond they grew fond of each other, he even delayed their journey to the next village for her and a few weeks later she found out she was pregnant. when she told him the news he didn't believe he was the only client she had that wasn't strictly massages but he was. that night, takeshi didn't show up to meet her like he said he would and the next morning she woke up to screaming and the inability to breathe from all the smoke. she took her mom and tried to leave as fast as she could, one of the soldiers who knew of her pregnancy news recognized her and helped her escape into the forest. as he was going back to the village she saw takeshi shove his sword right through the soldiers stomach for betraying his orders. but instead of following them takeshi just watched them escape.

after four days of traveling by foot they found the chin village who welcomed them with open arms. both of them were severly dehydrated but the villagers provided them with a lot of food and water and a place to live. xing's mom's condition wasn't good though and she passed away a few days after reaching the village. xing has been living in chin village ever since, she was well liked among everyone and eight months later they helped her deliver luna. no one knew her whole story, just that she escaped fire nation soldiers. she never talked about it and no one really asked because as long as she was a nonbender and not from kyoshi island they thought she wouldn't cause any harm. the whole experience was something that xing suppressed, part of her was always afraid that luna would become a heartless person like her father. she knew she wasn't but seeing her firebend filled her with so much anxiety. xing never had the heart to tell luna about her father, all she knows is he's a fire nation soldier. she somehow came up with them having a forbidden love kind of story all on her own. 

chin village learned that luna was a fire bender by the age of 11 when her friend playfully stole her headband and she sneezed making a hole in the wall of someones home. thankfully no one got hurt and the other villagers accepted her since they already knew she was harmless. luna had a good reputation around town, a weird kid that meant well and was willing to help anyone and just because she was a firebender didn't mean she was inherently bad. her mom was furious about her mishap but it helped her meet shiro, the guy whose house she put a whole through. xing truly loved shiro but luna had this idea in her head that if she met her father she could convince him to go back to chin village with her so they can be a happy family and he can teach her fire bending. shiro is a good man, but luna has hopes that her father is even better.

🌱  she likes drawing and decorating things. she will gladly draw on everyone's bag!
🌱  she doesn't like avatar kyoshi or anyone from kyoshi island

🌱  she's a messy person because she moves onto something else and forgets to clean up

🌱  for some reason she still can't control her combustion bending when she sneezes so she still wears a headband
🌱  she uses her combustion bending by closing her eyes and puffing out her cheeks
🌱  she never dated anyone or kissed anyone
🌱  she has the same mindset on avatar kyoshi just like the rest of her village. she thinks kyoshi warriors are scary killers, more than the fire nation actually
🌱  she says "kaboom!" when she has a successful hit with combustion bending
🌱  don't trust her with money she will spend it on useless things
🌱  on avatar day she sells her jewelry and her pretty clothes at the festival 
🌱  *casually has a whole conversation with an animal*
🌱  she brought a male chin village outfit and a headband that she decorated herself to give to her dad when she meets him. on the back of the outfit its a drawing of three stick figures holding hands which is supposed to be her, her mom, and him
🌱  the only thing she has of her father is a bracelet that he left behind at her moms workplace one day and she never takes it off 
🌱  she has similar views on the avatar as the rest of her village, she thinks they're all bad and agrees with the whole avatar going to court system thing too

luna: i just focus and push like i'm taking a big poop but instead it comes out of my forehead!

luna: theres 6 rows with a 15 soldiers each split into 9 groups. 6 times 15 times 9 is 810, and add the two little leader dudes on the side, 812! by the way did you know that the fire nation has turtle ducks too?! i thought it was an earth kingdom thing! i wonder if they breathe fire :0

mom - xing (35) / merchant / reserved, shy, caring, anxious / 10/10 / xing is a shy and reserved woman, the type of person to hold things in and having a daughter like luna really brings a lot of happiness and joy to her life. she's happy to have such a bright girl but worries about her constantly that someday her optimistic view of the world will go away once she realizes how cruel it can be. she wants luna to stay in chin village where its safe so she never has to face any hardships but luna wants to explore the world and find her father. everytime luna talks about her dad or the fire nation xing feels sick to her stomach but it makes luna so happy so she hides the ugly truth from her. / fc: lee minjung

 

dad - takeshi (42) / general in the fire nation army / blunt, cruel, selfish, manipulative, sadistic / 0/10 she doesn't know him yet  / takeshi is a fire nation navy captain turned general after the desertion of chey that is known to be ruthless and stubborn. if they get a specific order, takeshi will follow the rules with a twist playing with the lives of other people and making them suffer more than they have to. for some reason he took joy in burning down villages and hurting innocent people. but luna thinks that theres no way her dad is a bad person, even if he's a soldier killing other people its because he was forced to not because he wants to. she believes that he helps others more than hurts them, and when they meet they'll skip off into the sunset together with their matching outfits. / fc: jang hyuk
 

mom's boyfriend - shiro (36) / fisherman / friendly, flirty, caring / 3/10 / luna doesn't like shiro simply because he's not her father and is ruining her plan of bringing her family back together. but he's a really friendly guy thats head over heels for xing and is forever trying to get luna to like him. he treats xing really well and does romantic things like surprising her with flowers or getting her a gift. all things that makes luna roll her eyes because her dad should be doing that instead. last time he got her a gift she threw it away and got yelled at by her mom. / fc: jung ilwoo

LAST COMMENT: woohooo i finished my first gorl. idk if its possible to be born with combustion bending but i thought itll be interesting for such a smol girl to have so much power.  this is the usual character i make but i feel like the character development would be interesting after discovering that her dad is a bad man and all the bad happening in the world?  i was stuck between making him a captain or a general so you can choose which you think fits best. i thought the dad could be rivals with chey or smth idk my brain is frieeeed. the amount of time i accidentally wrote take is fdgndjgnfg-  also i have no idea if theres colors go together but shes earth and fire so this was the best mixing red and green was gonna get lolol. oh and are some of her outfits too modern? i got a little carried away with googling pictures heh. there are so much more red hanfu's than green for some reason?? finding pics was kinda hard. the personality inspo really shows how much i watch cartoons lol so embarrassing. anywhales i hope you enjoy my bb lunaaa! hope i didnt miss anything im too lazy to reread its 5am bYe

PASSWORD: matchmaker pls. for some reason i don't see her having a love interest but if theres someone that matches her then go ahead. i can definitely see her having a huge crush on one of the older guys and being clingy and gushing over everything he does though.
