Personality. 

Same as any other girls out there, Jangmi is a cheerful girl who is hardworking in all the things she does. Jangmi is the mood maker of the group as she is the youngest. Jangmi has a playful side and occasionally pranks the other members but not to the point where the prank can harm them or hurt their feelings. Jangmi's parents taught her not to be spoiled. If she really wants something, she has to work hard for it. Whether it would be having good grades in school or something else, Jangmi has a driven personality. Since she wants to be involved in the entertainment industry, she was taught to be open minded in all the criticisms she will receive and use those criticisms to motivate her to do better. She would like to describe herself as a deep kind of person. This girl has a positive outlook in life, she doesnt believe in bad luck nor in good luck.

She has negative side though. being impatient is one of them. She has trouble waiting for people, she dislikes it if someone asks her to meet them and she will be the one to arrive early. Jangmi doesnt like it when things are in a slow pace, she doesnt like beating around the bush. Jangmi wants things to be done immediately, unless it was a sunbaenim or a staff member she tolerates it. Her impatience leads her to become anxious, which sometimes causes her to over think. She is also a bit selfish when it comes to her favourite food such as tteokbokki,kimbap,and pasta. Especially dumplings or any personal items of hers, like clothes or make-up (She says it’s because of hygienic reasons). Though there are also times when she gets a bit aggressive whenever she plays games on her phone. Jangmi likes to beat her high score, she is a quite competitive girl.

Her being competitive isnt really a bad thing, She just likes doing her best in everything she does. Jangmi doesnt like to do things half-baked. She doesnt want to show that she trained for nothing. Despite being all smiles and optimistic, She can get really insecure. She doesnt like to show it to others and burden them with her own personal problem. Jangmi sometimes like to lock herself in her room and cry it all out. To Jangmi the only person who is her true rival is herself.

Background.

Born on December 5, 2004 to a small family living in San Jose, California. As a child, Jangmi really loved to perform as soon as she hears some music. She gets up on her feet and starts to dance around the room. She was around 3 when she started doing that. Jangmi never got proper lessons, she mostly just copied whatever she saw on tv.

Jangmi would sign up for talent shows or school plays. She just loves performing. It was during the 4th grade she auditioned for the dance club. She got accepted and they would perform at school festivities. Sadly, Jangmi never made the competing team but she didn’t mind it. She just loves performing in front of people and seeing their smiles.

It was during the 6th grade when she and her family moved back to Seoul, South Korea as her father was asked to move there by the company he was working for. In 2015, she started attending some classes from 1M dance studio and even opened up her own youtube account. She has a following of 205 subscribers on her account. 

It was when she was on her way to school she was scouted first to work as a model for an online mall. Jangmi is taller than most of her peers, she often gets scouted to work as professional model. Jangmi declined the offers as it was something she doesn’t want to do as a profession. She auditioned an Jellyfish entertainment in late 2016 and got accepted. Training there for a few months before transferring to Dal Entertainment.

— Mother / Kim Ryu / 35 / House-wife / She looks after Jangmi the most as she only stays at home. She is closest to Jangmi and is the most supportive as she was the one who accompanied Jangmi when she went to audition. She sometims send Jangmi and the other girls some homemade food at the dorms.
— Bestfriend / Lee Hana / 14 / Student/Trainee at Jellyfish Ent. / Jangmi's classmate in school. Both of them are in the class in school. She was accepted in Jellyfish ent. Hana is also one of the trainees who didn't get cut off from the roster. The two still hang out at school or whenever Jangmi isnt busy with training, They would either go out in hongdae and watch other performances or play at the arcade. They have a friendly rivalry

Trainee Life.
Jangmi trained in Jellyfish entertainment for a good three months. There she learned the fundamentals of idol training. She moved to Dal Entertainment as she was cut off from the trainee roster for reasons that was not disclosed to her properly. In Dal Entertainment, she trained for a year. There she learned more technique vocal and dance wise. Jangmi even had a different kind of training such as modeling and personality development.

2018 / False / Rose's Maknae Jangmi faked her age? | Netizens didn't want to believe that with her height and age that she is a 04 liner. The entertainment didn't post any statement about it but Jangmi addressed it when it was asked to her in a variety show.
