2012 woollim sends jiyeon to school of performing arts seoul (sopa). meanwhile, she struggles with training. she's one of the strongest vocalists but considers giving up.

2014 jiyeon finally leaves woollim after failing to meet the cut for lovelyz. she graduates from sopa while contemplating what to study.

2015 jiyeon decides to take a gap year and moves back to ulsan. she studies hard for the csat and attends cram schools. jiyeon eventually does well enough to apply for universities and make it into university of ulsan.

standing at 187 cm, kim mingyu appears to be cool and intimidating at first glance, but many of his friends would describe him as being a huge puppy. he's loud and often hyperactive, never being able to stay in one place for long and jumping from one group of friends to another when he's in a social setting. mingyu is outgoing and sociable; he loves meeting new people and is especially talkative around them. he's a people's person, knowing exactly how to charm those around him to befriend them easily. extremely charismatic, bursting with new energy and fun to be around, it's no surprise that mingyu manages to turn heads whenever he enters a room.

he cooks well, studies hard, gets along well with people, and is good at sports—it's no surprise that mingyu is very reliable and trustworthy. he can always be counted on to see things through and to execute anything he's given well.

but at times, mingyu can be really blunt with his words. when you get to know him better, you will come to realise that he doesn't think much before speaking. he is competitive and for him, whenever he does something, no matter what it is, he has to be first, nothing less. he would find himself always wanting to be the best among everyone else and finds it difficult to accept any form of disappointment or failure.

BACKGROUND 

1997 kim mingyu is born as the only child in anyang, south korea.
2009 mingyu moves to ulsan because of his grandmother's deteriorating health. she eventually passes away in november.
2010 mingyu's family decides to stay in ulsan.
2014 mingyu is convinced by his friends to start a mukbang channel. he posts his first video as his friends hype him up.
2015 mingyu's channel starts to pick up and gain subscribers. he sticks to mukbangs and asmrs but occasionally uploads vlogs.
2016 mingyu enters university of ulsan.

LOVE STORY 

jiyeon and mingyu meet some time in 2016, after jiyeon's painful breakup with younghoon. three months had passed but jiyeon's still trying to recover from it, and at that point in time, she sincerely feels that her life is a mess. sora, with good intentions of wanting her best friend to move on and get over younghoon, creates a tinder account for jiyeon. after much persuasion from sora that 'it wouldn't hurt' and 'it might help her move on', jiyeon finally agrees to using the account.

eunwoo is one of the many people whom jiyeon matches with on tinder, but is one of the few whom jiyeon can actually sustain a conversation with. after two weeks of texting, eunwoo and jiyeon decide to meet up. it's a simple coffee date, but the two decide that they're so good as friends, it'll be weird to pursue anything more than that. eunwoo, feeling bad that things didn't work out, introduces jiyeon to mingyu instead.

jiyeon and mingyu's initial texts are a little awkward, but after eunwoo's annoyingly helpful teasing, the two manage to grow more comfortable with each other.

they're a loud pairing, conversations never seem to end between them and they always find themselves having something to talk about. banter is a given between them and their interactions are often very hyped up. nonetheless, it doesn't stop them from sharing their honest feelings or rant about a bad day to each other once they grow closer.

both jiyeon and mingyu are very clingy and affectionate people and it shows. skinship comes very naturally to them. and of course, it confuses mingyu as he realizes that he's catching feelings for the girl. does she like him back? to him, it seems as though she acts like that to everyone else, he's no one special. but little does he know, jiyeon has been haboring a small crush on him in return as well.

it takes one drunk night with a group of friends for jiyeon to accidentally (and embarrsingly) blurt out her feelings for the tall male. and it takes him even lesser time to accept her feelings and confess back.

as a couple, they text everyday and share everything going on in their lives. communication never seems to be a problem for them. they're a chaotic couple, often going off and having the most adventurous dates or doing the most random things together. they're not shy to show a bit of skinship to their friends, like holding hands or hugging each other. mingyu likes to rest his chin on her head and call her "the perfect head and armrest", in which she will always elbow him and give off the most threatening glare she can manage. despite it all, many of their friends would agree that it's almost as if they're made for each other. they're a sweet pair, never afraid of showing off their emotions and feelings for each other for the entire world to see.
