A small face and smooth skin that's envied by many other girls, she's a pretty lady and she knows it all too well.

STYLE —
because i at writing styles, let the images speak for themselves i suppose.
In short, Diana's style is 'boss lady' with how she always seems to be wearing suits or something similar in style. It looks as if she's always heading to some meeting when in reality, she just enjoys wearing suits - it gives her a boost of confidence in her steps. Smoky eye makeup to amp that confidence in herself along with her bright red lipstick. Heels are also a big yes!

— PERSONAL INFORMATION.

PERSONALITY
✎ Some traits: Calculative, Attentive, Hardworking, Gutsy, Disobedient, Distrustful, Unloyal
✎ Inspo: Boss

Who's Diana Shafiq, you might ask as you notice the sound of her heels against the marble floors. She walks down the halls with such confidence and pride that it's hard to miss her presence.

She's been dubbed one of the best Obliviators to have worked under the DMAC and even the DADA know of her skills when she was back at Hogwarts. The hardworking woman who continues to prove the reason why she's got so much talent is mainly because of how she never stops trying to perfect the spells that she cast. Knowledge is something one can never get enough of and Diana is always hungry to learn more and more. She's also an attentive person by how meticulously she goes through her paperwork or read through reports before she does the job - it's better to be careful than sorry after all. It almost seems as if she has an eye on her back, able to sense things that happen around her when people think she's not paying attention to her surroundings.

Calm and cool-headed, that’s how her friends describe her as seeing as how she’s able to keep and her wand from cursing someone in broad daylight by how rude they act towards her. She doesn’t retaliate by calling them out or even flicking her wand for a quick jinx and instead keeps quiet. She thinks there’s no need to engage in such ‘petty fights’. However, Diana’s displayed a few times that she can be gutsy when it comes to people questioning her abilities or when she’s feeling too annoyed. It’s not so often but Diana’s made a few back-handed compliments to the people she must call co-workers which only made them dislike her even more. Just because she let’s them slip by with whatever they say about her, doesn’t mean she’s afraid to fight back when tempted to.

Secretive by nature, Diana thinks the less people know about her – the better it is for her to stop herself from getting too close to others. She dislikes personal questions from strangers or people that she barely knows or even by her own relatives because she simply prefers to keep her personal life personal. Besides, you don’t know what people will do with the information they have on you and Diana won’t easily give people the chance to bring her down. It comes with the fact that she only has a few people that she trusts completely, mainly being her best friends and immediate family. She’s wary over others and perhaps even thinks, that some people are out there to make her life just miserable if she’s not too careful. Being a perfectionist who dislikes anything that doesn’t meet her standards, Diana is a hard person to impress and a more difficult person to be satisfied with her own work. She holds herself to such a standard that she can’t be anything less than perfect or else, people will start to find flaws that weren’t even there to begin with.

But maybe that’s because she’s being careful of her own moves. She can’t just easily pick a fight with everyone and anyone if she wants to rise to the top of the top. Plus, if she doesn’t keep her skills in check all the time, her building reputation will crumble before it had the chance. Her actions are calculated since they’re all part of the bigger picture – getting to the top of the Ministry of Magic. Yes, she’s driven, she’s passionate, she’s got fire in her eyes and by god, Diana will stop at nothing to show everyone that she can be just as powerful despite what everyone thinks of her. No, she's going to reach the top by herself and she's going to prove everyone how wrong it was of them to ever lookdown on her in the first place.

— EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE.

BACKGROUND - TW for slight mentions of xenophobia acts + bullying.

Born and raised at Cheetham Hill, an inner-city located a few hours away from Manchester where it's residents were mainly people like her - people who carried the same religious beliefs and practices as herself and her family. That part of her childhood was relatively uneventful, it was a calm and peaceful time as much as she could remember it. Most of the kids at the school she attended at the time were just like her and even those who were different, didn't seem to pay any grudges or hate towards her community. It was a time that she didn't expect to come to an end.

You see, Diana had always known about the wizarding world considering how her parents were wizards themselves. And they were the small rare few pureblood left in their community for the wizarding world. Centuries of marriages that were held to make sure their bloodline remained pure and untainted did its work as Diana came to learn about wizards and magic at the age of four(4). By the time she displayed magical abilities at the age of seven(7) - by levitating items and even making things invisible, on accident of course - she had a good grasp on the understanding of being a 'witch'.

When the letter inviting her to Hogwarts finally came, Diana was thrilled. She had heard a lot about the school from her parents and relatives so Diana was determined to do her utmost best to become a great student and witch while she attended Hogwarts. However, her years at Hogwarts weren't as 'splendid' as she had hoped it would be.

Her arrival as Hogwarts was... strained, for the lack of better word. She wasn't the friendliest person around so she assumed it was mainly due to her cold attitude towards strangers. Sorted into Slytherin on her first day only made more of the students hostile and wary towards her. They smacked against her shoulder roughly, made fun of her whenever she passed by, smacking her books out of her hands, and refusing to sit near her during class or whenever she was at the Grand Hall. So for the longest time, she assumed their hostility towards her was mainly due to the fact that she was Slytherin. Their whispers and glares were something that Diana continued to remember even after she graduated from Hogwarts with flying colors.

It's not until she begins working under the Ministry of Magic does she realize that the hostility wasn't because of her Hogwarts house but rather for the fact that she was a hijabi. No matter how great she was with her knowledge and skill with magic, people continued to look down on her and mock her for what she was. They would talk loudly over how she was a 'terrorist' or a 'disgrace to the magic community' while she bites her lip and continues on her way. She wondered if this was how people like her were treated in the wizarding world. No matter how good of an Obliviator she was, people still seemed to see that she always fell short.

However, her talent and skills don't go unnoticed or ignored by everyone. Eyes are being kept on her, curious as to what she has in store next. Some people are wary how she's going to catch the attention of jealous power-hungry people while others wonder if she has the guts and strength to continue fighting all those who try to bring her down. And for Diana, she just needs one chance to prove that she's able to beat all these losers once and for all.

THE INITIATIVE

"Yes, yes - I'm on my way back home as we speak," Diana chuckled as she heard her mother talking through the phone as she was making her way towards the usual Portkey. She even manages to stop by and help a young boy retrieve his toy car that had fallen out of his hands. The streets of London were busy as ever and she still couldn't seem to get used to the large crowd despite having worked at the heart of UK for a few years.

However, she felt goosebumps across her arms as a loud rumble spread throughout the streets. Her first thought was an earthquake but what followed the rumble was something she wouldn't have expected. A group of whom she had suspected to be wizards and witches, all dressed in dark clothing. An announcement for a so-called 'new world order' and a minute later, spells were casted and civilians ran in hundreds of different paths - holding their phones close as they recorded the entire ordeal going down.

Although she had known that using magic in the presence of Muggles was a strict rule - saving the lives of others was another rule that she followed. In an act of the moment, Diana broke the rule that her kind had been told to follow for so many generation as she casted her first spell to bounce off an attack spell.

The fight lasted for quite a while with more witches and wizards giving help as they protected the civilians around and by the time things had settled down, Diana had realized how this incident would forever change the relationship between them and Muggles. She had seen the amount of videos that people were taking - obliviating them wasn't going to fix the mess that had happened.

Seeing as how she was one of those who was actually involved in The Incident, Diana was quick to apply to the Initiative the moment she caught wind of the news of the new department being opened. There's slight excitement and anticipation to what's coming because if it's one thing Diana's good at - it's fixing messes and this certainly was a big mess that needed a lot of fixing. There's hint of worry in her over having this secrecy being told to the world because hey, nobody ever likes changes!

She's excited and looking forward to helping in every way she can as history is being written. She's going to give it her all to ensure that people like her get more acknowledgment and perhaps somehow stop future girls like herself from being discriminated.

TRIVIA
✎ Has a knack for memory charms the most hence why she decided to become an Obliviator
✎ A lot of people thought she would have chosen to become an Auror since her skills in DADA isn't to be made lightly. Still wonders sometimes if she should have been an Auror whenever work is slow in the DMAC.
✎  works at the Ministry of Magic under the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes (DMAC) + Accidental Magic Reversal Department as an Obliviator.
✎ loves baking and eating pastries/baked goods.
✎ has a good knowledge on medicine for Muggles and symptoms for illnesses due to her father
✎ she's used to seeing and using  'Muggle' items because she used to stay with her Muggle neighbors when her parents were busy working. so she's not completely new to the idea of Muggles.
✎ has nearly excellent photographic memory. she can remember layouts of what she's seen, what people were wearing a few weeks ago but she has slight trouble remembering dialogs from people if it's been more than a few days. books, reports, newspapers and articles are the easiest for her to remember.
✎ elected as a Prefect in her 5th year but didn't make it as Head Girl.

— REFERENCES.

FAMILY —
✎ mother / Huda Kamilah / 48 / caring, strict, quiet / pureblood witch
Diana has a close relationship with her mother and often comes to her for advice and support whenever she's feeling down. They have a strong mother-daughter bond and to Diana, her mother is the best role model for her. She works at a bakery in Cheetham Hill and it's one of the reasons why Diana spends most of her free time baking with her mom at home whenever they're both free.
✎ father / Danial Rohman Shafiq / 49 / blunt, attentive, calm / pureblood wizard
Similar to her mother, Diana has a good relationship with her father as well. He works as a doctor at a local clinic, the reason why Diana has good knowledge on medicine and illnesses. He always worries about his only daughter but believes and supports in whatever she deems is the right thing to do. An easy-going man, he checks up on her regularly through messages and phone calls.
✎ younger brother / Isaac Danish Shafiq / 15 / sensitive, hardworking, loving / pureblood wizard
With a 10-year , most people would think there would be awkwardness between these two siblings but it's quite the opposite. Diana is a support pillar for Isaac and she's always there to listen and give him advice when he needs it. She's been in his shoes after all but Isaac has it easier compared to her - the difference is that he has someone to talk to and that someone is his older sister. Part of the Ravenclaw House, Isaac is also Diana's go-to-second-opinion whenever she needs another perspective on something. The two siblings are close and when Isaac is in school, they keep in touch through their owls, sending letters in riddles and codes for fun.

FRIENDS —
✎ best friend  / Arabella Eliza Atkinsons / 25 / calm, protective, loud / half-blood witch
Arabella, or better known as Bella, was Diana's first friend at Hogwarts who was always the first one to defend Diana whenever other students pulled some on her. Despite them being in different houses (Bella was sorted into Gryffindor), Bella paid zero(0) mind to how some people would try to separate the two to them and continued to befriend Diana. She currently works as an Auror where she still continues to warn those who speak ill of Diana. Housemates with Diana ever since they started working under the Ministry.
✎ close friend / Jones Otto Murray / 25 / protective, kind, blunt / half-blood wizard
Usually referred to as Joe by his good friends, Jones is a good friend of Bella and Diana since their 2nd year at Hogwarts when Bella introduced him to Diana as he and Bella were sorted into the same house. Once he came to know Diana, he also started to try and call out the other students for making fun of her whenever he heard stupid from them. The four of them continue to hang out even when they graduated and began working. He currently works under the Spirit Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
✎ close friend / Noah Daire Travers / 25 / protective, kind, blunt / pure-blood wizard
Another Slytherin and coming from a pure-blood family, there's a lot in common that these two share. He comes off as a little snobby and self-centered but his friends and family know that he's actually quite sweet. He takes pride in his family name but does not use his name or blood status as a reason to look down or bully others. He's only mean to people who are mean to his friend. He cares for Diana much more than a friend and Bella and Joe have their suspicions that he has a crush on Diana - he's never denied or confirmed their suspicions. He currently works as an Auror along with Bella.

FACECLAIM — Taron Egerton
BLOOD STATUS — Pure-Blood

PERSONALITY

In more ways than one, Noah is quite similar to Diana. He's just as driven and as passionate as she is - maybe even more but Diana won't acknowledge that. He's passionate about magic, spells, history of magic, magical beasts, his job, and simply everything there is about magic. He admires the beauty and the unknown about magic so it's one of the reasons why it seems he's always learning something new. A leader-like person who knows when to take charge and someone people can depend on when things get rough, he's the person people go to when situations get rather sticky. Holding loyalty above all else, once you earn his loyalty - he'll be there for you until the Earth crumbles to dust. He's the last person you'd expect to betray anyone!

A person who enjoys competition and mostly, winning competitions/bets. He enjoys the thrill and determination he puts so that he'll have the best chances of winning and even if he does lose, he'll simply share his congratulations and be more determined to work harder in order to beat the said person. He's not a sore lose nor is he a sore winner either. A healthy competitor, is what he calls himself.

However, it's perhaps due to how well-liked, kind, caring and soft he seems is what makes people trust him just a little easier. They let their guard down around him to which he uses to his advantage to get bits and pieces of information or even to trick them into thinking a slightly different truth. He can be cunning when he wants to, you see and that's usually 90% of the time which goes unnoticed by nearly everyone who knows of him. He's the last person anyone would think to be a mastermind of something which he just may be - who knows? Noah's certainly not telling.

But if there's one thing that people can pick up about him that he's not ashamed about is his stubborn nature. You can't change his mind with just a few words and diligence because Noah only listens to himself... with the exception of Diana at times. He believes that he knows what's best for himself and if anyone would try to tell him otherwise, he'll laugh it off and continue on his way. Orders? Rules? No, no - Noah doesn't enjoy following those things like a blind person. He'll follow his own heart and mind, thank you very much.

— LOVE STORY.

RELATIONSHIP — Crushing.

THE STORY
First Meeting

Their first meeting, besides sitting together during the Sorting Ceremony on the first day, was officially during their first DADA class. And it was Noah who made the first move when he decided to ditch his 'friends' so he could take up the empty seat next to Diana who he deemed to be better than his loud and obnoxious buddies. He introduces himself to Diana and by the time class is over, both of them are heading towards the Great Hall chatting with each other about their previous lesson as Bella and Joe join them shortly after.

Development
Throughout the years of attending Hogwarts, there's been plenty of times where Noah and Diana hang out together just the two of them mainly due to how they share the same house. They partner up for projects, save seats for each other during classes and study at the library/common room together. Where Diana was, Noah was sure to be close behind. They became especially close when both of them were appointed as Prefects during their 5th year. So, yes - most of their time at school was spent with each other more than anyone else.
When Diana was having trouble choosing which career path to take in the Ministry, Noah was there to reassure her that whatever she path she deemed to be most appropriate - he would be there to support her along the way as many teachers had assumed Diana would strive to become an Auror due to her excellent grades in DADA. Towards the end of their school years, Diana found Noah to be someone she confided in a lot due to how similar in nature they both seemed to be.
Though both of them came from pureblood status, Noah was much more respected and 'feared' than Diana was. Often times, Diana would find Noah scolding members of the Slytherin house or even other houses if he heard anyone speaking ill or making fun of Diana. He's the first person she comes to when she needs to rant on grades, bullies and expectations from the teachers.  Having him around made her life a little easier - something that she didn't notice until a long while after.
After they decide to both work under the Ministry, their daily interactions are cut shorter. Phone calls and text messages make up for the lack of face-to-face interaction but they both do miss hanging out with each other nearly every hour of the day. They make plans to meet up with each other whenever they can, mainly for lunch and dinner and it's there do they reconnect and talk to each other about everything with the little time they have.

So, when do they start going out?
After years of friendship to the point even their parents and friends are fully aware of their connection and feelings for one another - they're still just close friends! Diana's too focused on her career to even think of having a nice healthy relationship and/or settling down and Noah's care for Diana is making him hesitant to relay his feelings - what happens if Diana rejects him? Do they stay as friends or does everything just stop? He doesn't want to push her seeing as how driven she is to succeed but how long can he wait to be honest?

Either way, one of them needs to confess A.S.A.P before Bella blurts the truth right in front of them.

[ I'll leave the ending up to you! They could totally just continue being platonic buds or have them end up together, whichever works ;) ]

— THE INTERVIEW.

"SO TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF" — "My name is Diana Shafiq and I come from the Shafiq household. I graduated from Hogwarts and I'm currently still employed as an Obliviator under the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes."

"HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS POSITION?""Oh, it was from... co-workers. Word travels fast in the Ministry so one couldn't help but catch a few news here and there."

"WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR BIGGEST WEAKNESS?" — "... My biggest weakness? Well, that's not easy to pinpoint. Hmm, maybe my biggest weakness is how I think I don't have a weakness - the fact that I think don't have any flaws is in fact, my weakness."

"WHY DO YOU THINK YOU SHOULD GET THIS JOB?""Because I'm driven - I'd like to think I'm the most passionate and driven person you'll meet. I'm driven, passionate, confident, and willing, I think I have a lot of skills that I can offer to this Initiative as well as being able to learn and grow myself as well."

"WHAT DO YOU HOPE THIS INITIATIVE WILL ACCOMPLISH?""I hope that through this Initiative, people like me will stop being discriminated both in the wizarding and muggle community - that it will build a new hope for those in my community."

— ANYTHING ELSE?

FAMOUS LAST WORDS — she sounds sO lame I'm so sorry but I hope you'll like her!! i probably made a few oopsies here and there so don't hesitate to bonk me on the head ;-;
✎  if you're wondering wHy Diana decided to not become an Auror despite the skills and drive she has is lamely because, she finds it fun wiping memories of Muggles about magic/weird magical stuff happening. "Memory charms are a load of fun if you think of it. You can make people forget about stuff and they'll never even realize it," - Diana.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS —
✎ someone says something along the lines of "Diana is lame" and yall should just really see this girl in action. could probably be the second Hermione Granger icb
✎ happy moments of Diana, Bella, Joe and Noah. Just the gang having good times
✎ bring out Diana's baby brother. show the world how she's soft for her one and only bro

PASSWORDthis is the greatest thing I've ever seen and everyone should see it too!
