sora is a very confident person by nature. she has a natural charm that makes people turn their heads to see her. she's also always open to new ideas and opinions. despite always relying on her brother when she was younger, she became really independent after yato began to train. because of her dad's busy schedule, she was usually alone and she had to fend for herself. she is fairly quick to spill out some humor with her wit just to make everyone laugh.

being alone most of the time has made her somewhat sarcastic, someone has to be when her older brother is practically a man child. much like her wit and charisma, sora is lively and bold when it comes to her famous wit. she's rather cheeky and comes off a sassy person, whether it's good or bad.

sora is very much a perfectionist. if one little thing is misplaced, she will do whatever it takes to put it back in it's place. sora is definitely stubborn. there are a lot of times when her stubborness gets in the way like whenever she really DOES need help, but refuses to ask for help. she's stubborn like that. sora definitely doesn't sugarcoat things, she tells it like it is. she's brutally honest and doesn't like beating around the bush. she is also rather demanding as she wishes for everything to be perfect. she will make others work harder just so she can meet the high standards she has for herself.

BACKGROUND

when sora was born, it was bittersweet. her mother was very sick and couldn't hold on after she was born. the whole family took the death to heart, but her father and brother knew that they had to keep it together to take care of sora.

as sora grew up, she didn't see her father all that much. he was busy with work, being a ceo wasn't easy. instead of her father, yato was always there for her as a big brother and a father figure. sora was the light of yato's world, never getting tired of taking care or playing with his little sister.

yato's dream of being a musician was allowed by their father, but had nowhere to go. although with nothing, sora was there for him as his biggest supporter. he was the main reason she got into music. when sora saw all the other girls in her class going to dance lessons, she wanted to go too. yato was so excited at the thought of sora wanting to become a idol someday. month after month, yato found sora having fun in her dance lessons.

then yato was scouted by avex trax on the streets. sora was a mess when yato came home and told her the news. did this mean he was going to leave? if he left, who would she have then? but yato made sure to calm his baby sister down, thinking he could take her with him to tokyo. the idea was shot down by their father. sora was just too young and yato was too young to be taking care of sora while he was training. how would he support her?

so yato promised his sister that they would meet again and for her to always smile no matter what. after yato left for tokyo, they still made sure to contact each other as much as he could with his busy schedule. the day finally came when yato debuted in c:ode. sora was amazed at how much yato had changed and grown. it was amazing! eventually avex trax was holding auditions for girls. she wanted to be close to her brother!

their father noticed how sora would follow her brother's every move, using him as her motivation. he knew his daughter had a natural talent for dancing. despite not being there for most of her childhood, he still wanted her to be happy. he helped her with her new dance lessons, studying different types of dance to help her have one foot ahead of all the other dancers her age. dancing was her absolute dream!

at the age of fourteen, their father finally allowed her to follow her dreams, but only if she made it into avex trax! so with all her strength and motivation, she found her way into avex trax to be on the big stage just like her brother!

RELATIONSHIPS

TAKAYAMI KOISHI　father, 1958

her father is a strict man that mellowed out from his late wife and now his children. he likes to try and still be that strict man, but sora knows he's just a big ol teddy bear. koishi is a ceo of a big corporation back in hokkaido that takes up most of his time. he did admit that he overworked himself because of grief from his wife's death, but he has a clearer and better mind now. his children (despite being adults) are his priority.

TAKAYAMI YATO　big brother, 1989

yato is the light of sora's life while she's light of his life. don't underestimate their sibling bond. whenever they are near each other, they're practically joined at the hip. yato is extremely protective over his little sister and will fight anybody who tries to humilate or date her (which is why she hasn't told him about her crush on kami yet). he always does shout outs to sora at his concerts and on stages because she is the reason why he continues to do what he loves.

C:ODE　brother's band, 1983 - 1991

c:ode is a five membered visual kei band from avex trax which consists of yato (leader, drummer, backup vocals), suki (lead vocals, occasional guitar), yaya (lead guitar), giyo (rhythm & acoustic guitar, backing vocals), and natty (bass, keyboardist, piano). their most recent album charted in the top 5 of the oricon chart.

BTS　labelmates, 1992 - 1997

sora knew of bts, she would stupid if she didn't know about them. if she's being honest, she's not quite a fan of their music altogether (though no more dream is a bop and you can't tell her otherwise), she thinks they were really great guys and super talented. they are very homey and are essentially big brothers to her and pink velvet. she is rather close to jin, j-hope, and jungkook.

j-hope is her bts mentor and thinks he's a great mentor. he may be a stickler for the details, but he obviously knows what he's doing. plus, he's a fantastic dancer. she may have a bit of a celebrity crush on him.

KNG　labelmates, 1995 - 1999

sora knew of kng as well, since they're the brother group of bts. and much like bts, sora is a bit on the fence when it comes their music too (though cactus is right up her alley). kng are a bunch of doofuses off screen and it reminds sora so much of her brother and his band. sometimes she wonders she's in a alternate dimension and kng are her brother's band instead. she is rather close to sean, spade, and kino.

jason is her kng mentor and sora doesn't really listen to him that well. she knows he's a great dancer and leader, but she can't help, but sass him.

BEOM HEEYEON　groupmate, ???

if there's someone sora doesn't sass, it's heeyeon. since the first time sora met the closed off girl, she knew something was off and sora felt the need to be by her side. she doesn't push the other girl whenever she's quiet and sora just sits with her to give her company. sora isn't one of those people who try to push heeyeon to do things off-screen (cause sora can see heeyeon does become a bit of different person on camera)

SAENGDOW 'CLARA' LEECHAIYAKUL　groupmate, 1998

despite sora being a few months older than clara, clara shows off more motherly and mature traits than her. and while sora shoots out sassy comebacks, clara is the one to call sora out and calm her down ("That's not very nice Sora-ah." "Call me unnie." "You're only sixteen days older than me-."). they also complain about their brothers together, sora complaining about how stupid yato is while clara complains about how people think of her as ten's sister and not just 'clara'.

TRAINEE LIFE

training life ... wasn't that hard, but hard at the same time. at first she was sad that she still hadn't got to see her brother that often especially since his band was getting more and more popular. though she didn't let that stop her. her dance skills had her above the rest of the girls, especially with how young she was at the time.

she impressed most of all her instructors with her dancing, almost like she turned into a different person when she danced. they could tell dancing was her life, though they were there to help her succeed in other ways.

after 3ish years with avex trax, sora noticed she was going nowhere with the company and it made her angry. her dancing was good, her singing was getting better ... why wasn't she put into a group yet? it only took a year before her brother got his band!

it was actually yato's bandmate giyo who suggested sora enter a korean company instead. he knew with her cute looks and amazing skills that she would definitely be loved back in south korea. he found that bighit had opened auditions for female trainees. knowing that bighit was popular for bts and it would be perfect for sora, so he helped her with a audition video for the company transfer. it only took a few weeks before sora was sent to south korea for training at bighit!

much like at avex trax, she was quickly praised for singing and dancing, but she had to learn how to sing in korean so it was like almost learning how to sing all over again. but it wasn't nothing that sora couldn't handle and soon enough she was going to have her dream of debuting soon with bighit's newest girl group!

PREDEBUT

»　sora did some modeling as a kid back in japan for a few children fashion brands.

»　sora featured on a song for her brother's band. perfect blue was a song that her and yato thought about back when they were younger. the song ended up being a bonus track on their studio album dogma. the song had a totally different tune to the kind of music the band plays, which is why it was a bonus track. sora even participated in a few concerts to sing the song live.

HEADLINES

MYSTERIOUS BACKUP VOCALS　for c:ode's 2015 studio album dogma, they released a bonus track that was a complete opposite to their own music and contained female vocals. yato admitted to the female vocals being his little sister's voice and they even added her to some of their concerts for her to sing it live.

c:ode fans had already known who sora was, cause yato always spoke about her and gave her shoutouts. they were pleasantly surprised with her vocal ability.

SPECIAL TREATMENT　when pink velvet's members are revealed, many netizens are quick to find out that sora is the younger sister of visual kei band C:ODE's leader and the daughter of the successful yamisho corp. they thought sora bought her way into the group which is far from the truth.

HOT JPN ACTOR & KPOP IDOL DATING?　probably around their first comeback, kami came to congratulate sora and her group's success with a little get-together. netizens took a picture of them hugging very friendly which sparked a lot of fans into thinking they were dating. at the time, they were not dating, just really good friends.

"Konnichiwa, everyone! My name's Takayami Sora and I'm Pink Velvet's resident sassy princess!" Sora says out aloud, giving off a sweet smile before humming contently. "My name may sound familiar because my older brother is the leader of C:ODE in Japan."

AS A MEMBER OF BIGHIT'S NEW GIRL GROUP, HOW DO YOU FEEL?

"Very ... surreal," Sora starts. "Eight months ago, I was a trainee for Avex Trax with no talk of being put in a group." She looks off to the side for a second. "But, now, it's a different story. Though, I've heard the rumors about Bighit's last girl group, but because of their past, there is a lot of pressure put on me and the group though I'm not gonna let it deter me from fulfilling my dream."

WHAT'S YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH KNG AND BTS LIKE?

"It's almost just like with my brother's band. Both groups are like annoying big brothers." Sora rolls her eyes at her words, getting annoyed thinking about it. "Of course, I feel more closer to KNG than BTS with how busy the latter are.”

WHO ARE YOU CLOSEST TO IN BTS?

Sora thinks for a moment. "I think...I'm closest to Jin, J-Hope, and Jungkook senpais. Jin because he's like a motherly brother to me. J-Hope because he's one of my mentors and Jungkook cause are ages are close."

WHO ARE YOU CLOSEST TO IN KNG?

"As much as it pains me to say, I'm the closest to Sean senpai, but don't let him hear me say that because he would never let me live it down," she rolls her eyes, though her smiles pull into a soft smile. "But I like to hang out with Spade because of our similar personalities and Joker cause our ages are close."

"My most charming point? If I must," she says with another rolls of her eyes. She looks down before looking back up, craddling her head with her hands in a delicate pose. For a second, she's quiet before going back to her original position.
