siwoo has been blessed with height, and good proportions, to enhance these, his exercises focus on endurance rather than strength so he's ne's more lean than bulky.

though he has a couple of piercings in his ear (both lobes and two right helixes), he doesn't generally wear any type of jewelry in them for his own safety.

there is a deep scar on his left chest in the shape of the number 7 but a phoenix tattoo makes it unnoticeable unless you know to look for it

siwoo dresses like those stereotypical chaebols in dramas with their turtlenecks, sweaters, button-up shirts and woolcoats. sometime's he'll wear fake glasses as well which helps him look nicer than he is.

he wasn't always the most fashionable person, but being in the idol industry and surrounded by stylists has taught him more than enough.

han siwoo has always been and always will be sensitive to others' emotions, especially negative ones.  though he used to side with the little guys  and with the outcasts, the betrayal he had experienced meant that he doesn't do the same anymore. though he is still sympathetic to their plight, he is no longer willing to stick his neck out for them. he's afraid of becoming a target and being hurt. gone are the days where he looked out for everyone. he only looks after himself now, every man for themselves.

similarly, siwoo has issues when it comes to expressing his emotions properly. he's afraid of being emotionally vulnerable to others because he's afraid of being seen as weak. this has made him a very guarded person. any negative emotions is bottled up, only to eventually explode as anger at the littlest thing. a cup can only carry so much before it overflows. he also doesn't like losing for the same reason because he views losing as weak.

on the otherhand, his fear of being seen as weak has made him very competitive and persistent. losing is weak and so is giving up. siwoo will compete with you to see who can eat the most, or who can sleep the least and even train to get there if he has to. he's very simpleminded in that sense. once he has set his mind to something he will follow through one way or another. though thankfully he seems mostly okay with not being main rapper and main dancer as well since he already has his main vocal position.

as a result, siwoo can be too much for some people. being competitive and persistant and angry makes for a rather intense person. there's no real off switch for him, only go and go. in a similar manner, he can be very opinionated about even if it is unwarranted. from thinking his favourite cafe is 100% the best cafe in seoul and he will not be convinced otherwise to green is a terrible color and please stand far away from him. 

the time he spent with ty friends in ty environments has given him two gifts. first is incredible observation. he spent a large portion of his adolescence afraid of being targeted, and pairing this with his emotionally sensitive nature he is able to keep track of a relatively large amount of people at once, from their body language, facial expression and tone of voice. this way he isn't caught by surprise if something goes down and he can remove himself from a situation before it even breaks out. though his assessments are generally accurate, he has his faux pas.

siwoo second gift is confidence, though the company he kept was not the only contributing factor. he has confidence to the point that some may consider him to have a bit of an ego (thankfully he's not quite at the point of checking himself out in the mirror every day). but really when he has won almost every fight, every competition and a company willing to wipe away his dirty past because they think he is  that valuable as an idol, it'd be strange not to have confidence to go with it.

nowadays, siwoo always puts himself first. he has zero tolerance for anything that he perceives as a slight to him and he oftens up aiming at the wrong guy  because of it. he is that karen that will ask to speak to the manager if he feels that he is being taken advantage of. and if you ever have the misfortune of ending up on his bad side, don't expect to ever get out, there are no second chances in the world of siwoo. one strike and you're out.

due to the difficulty siwoo has in controlling his anger, he is very inflexible to change. when there is a set routine and support systems in place such that he generally knows what to expect every day, it is possible to keep him under control. but the moment something changes, all the progress that has been made can be reversed in  one fell swoop.

 

as a child, siwoo was easily excitable and passionate about everything. but he was also very naive and always did his best to sympathise with others. he always tried to befriend the outcasts and defend the weaker side because he felt their pain and loneliness. but always siding against the group eventually pissed off the wrong person and it made him the next target.

siwoo can barely recall the face of his childhood bully, let alone his name. but he definitely remembers all the he was put through because of him. the worst wasn't the ostracisation, the embarrassment or the physical pain. no, by far the worst was the helplessness he felt when he finally gathered the courage to fight back and only to find that there was no one there for him, not like he did for them. it was the betrayal he felt when the same kid he had saved countless times had been the one to report him for school violence.

the second time he tried to fight back, he was hospitalised for a month. he doesn't remember the name of his bully but he remembers the frustration in his mother's voice when the school sent her on a bureaucratic goose chase for the fifth time. he remembers her tears when they couldn't pull together the money for a lawsuit because all of their savings had gone to his medical bills instead.

little by little, siwoo learnt how unfair the world was. little by little, the world had killed the curious child and in its place was only anger.

only a week after the incident, siwoo was expelled. his family moved away from the ulsan to seoul because no school would take him and certainly no neighbourhood would either. how dare this poor mutt hurt their golden boy? siwoo's only saving grace was his young age, saving him from potential prison time.

siwoo never really recovered from the bullying, even at the new school. he only saw injustice over and over again. he saw the most talented athlete getting  targeted over and over again until she finally quit the track team only to be replaced by coach's own daughter. he saw the good kids have their work stolen from them and their belongings vandalised, only for the thieves to get all the credit and the hardworkers get forced into detention for the nth time for being lazy. he'd get hit by some kid that wanted to cause trouble, but he'd be the only one punished for hitting back.

each time, he'd grit his teeth to avoid causing issues, but every once in a while his anger would bubble over again and he'd break his chair, using the leg as a weapon to violently beat the kids until they'd be knocked out or he was held back by other students. though the beating was deserved, at that point it wasn't justice, just violence to clear his own anger so he feels better. other times, he'd the drywall behind his mirror or throw plates at his parents because he had no where else to direct his anger. and it went on, once in a while became once a week and even once a day and eventually even his own parents avoided him because they were afraid of their own child. to this day he doesn't realise that the scar on his mother's cheek came from him.

as siwoo entered high school, he was introduced to music and found it to be very effective in helping him release his anger in a less destructive manner. the parents that had avoided him for over a year had seen the improvement and tried to encourage his new passion. later that year he won his high school talent show through singing. he couldn't forget that high from standing on stage, all eyes staring at him in anticipation, and the applause afterwards. only once and he was addicted. for the first time in a long time his head started clearing up and though his parents weren't able to fund his music career, they more than made up for it in moral support and encouragement. the made sure to take him to every local competition and performance opportunity.

he was in senior year when he was scouted by a small entertainment company on account of his numerous local performances. it was supposed to be all uphill from there. siwoo would get to surround himself with music and finally let go of the anger.

all at once, his support structure was sstripped out from under him. lack of sleep and stress from trainee life left him on edge and miserable. the trainers were always yelling at him one way or another, nothing he did was ever good enough. contract termination was always hanging over his head if he wouldn't listen to the trainer's ridiculous request. but that long time trainee got away with skipping their  lessons and talking back.

the environment was so hostile that the trainees resorted to sabotaging each other (from psychological warfare, intentional misinformation, to breaking each others property and lacing drinks with laxatives). the management just let it happen and even encouraged it to some extent.

in the aftermath of his contract termination, siwoo's anger spiralled out of control. he put in the work, did his best to fulfill his dream (and he was so close too) only for a group of ingrates to take it away from him like that. school was the same, he was so paranoid that even someone lookng at him the wrong way would prompt a very aggressive reaction. "what the do you think you're looking at?" he would say as he walked over to kick their table over. to put it simply, he was terrorising his school. his prickly front also caused others to approach him, looking for a fight. but he'd always fight back more violently than a wannabe gangster would expect and he made a name for himself in the wrong crowd. a crowd that encouraged his anger and aggression.

siwoo was approached by beau later that year and he accepted without a second thought. it was the second chance he had been looking for. he pulled himself out of that crowd and tried his best to keep his anger under control, but by then he was already too far gone. it was a miracle that he was able to debut at all, considering his track record (siwoo certainly wouldn't debut himself if he was making the decisions).

▹stories with happy endings: he's a bit of an idealist and hopeless romantic at heart. even though he won't get his happy ending in the real world, at least he can live vicariously through fictional characters.

▹sunrise/early mornings: that moment he has to himself while the world is still asleep makes him feel at peace, unfortuntaely being an idol means everyone and their mothers are already awake at 3am.

▹animals: loves them to the point of obsession because he knows how they behave and they won't scheme against you the same way a human being would. he will absolutely sleep with a giant spider before another person (of course only after taking precautions to not squish them)

▹the saw movies: it's not really saw itself but that he loves watching terrible people die in horrific ways, in fact the more gory it is the better. will marathon the series every once in a while even though he knows it makes him more prone to violence afterwards.

▹money: from a young age he's learnt that money = power, so he's determined to get as much as possible

▹rich people: his past has exposed him to several groups of them all of whom were just ty people and now he hates them all, no he is not aware of how ironic it is.

▹green: not sure what it is about it but seeing green sets off a visceral reaction of disgust.

▹heat: siwoo's body doesn't cool down very well so he's always extremely uncomfortable in the heat and summer weather

▹sweets: siwoo is more of a savoury food person and feels sick if food is too sweet. always gets his tea and coffee with no sugar

▹being touched/pda: nothing good (for him at least) has ever come out of other people touching him, so it sets off his fight or flight instincts. he's fine with other people touching in his presence though.

▹planning/organisation helps him feel in control of his life and allows him to prepare himself mentally prior to the event.

▹loves to swim, just exercising in general makes him happy but swimming has an added bonus of improving his lung capacity for singing too.

▹even though he sings for his job, he still enjoys going to karaoke regularly, especially since it gives him a chance to sing songs that aren't his/the band's.

▹always analysing his environment and other people and reacting accordingly to minimise risk to himself. its at a point where siwoo doesn't realise he's doing this and thus can't even begin to turn it off

▹is always competing with someone about something, people won't mess with him if he's the best y'know?

they met when siwoo first joined beau and got off to a rather rocky start because siwoo had trouble reading jinhyuk. however they are similar in their persistance and drive allowing them to understand each other in that way. both jinhyuk's reliability as leader and time has siwoo slowly learning to trust him.

as they often work closely, siwoo and smoking have really great teamwork, and siwoo generally likes him. unfortunately he also sometimes feels threatened by smoking because they are also main vocal is therefore competition.  gets angry when they are compared, but its usually spun as "he respects his other main vocal too much" rather than "siwoo feels threatened"

picked up most of his languages from her and deeply respects her teaching and linguistics ability. though he was initially quite troublesome during her lessons, he's become one of her top students and has really flourished in her lessons.

 

park jaewon ;; childhood bully

siwoo hates jaewon with every fibre of his being and absolutely blames jaewon and his two lackeys for his life going downhill. though siwoo doesn't remember his name, jaewon's face has been forever burned into his mind. he has also fantasised about saw-like executions for jaewon on multiple occasions and may or may not set it up if given the opportunity.

siwoo is very close and comfortable with his parents. being home with them is the one time and place he is able to shut off his constant vigilence. unfortunately his parents don't always feel the same. even though they love him just as much, siwoo is still a ticking time bomb.

TRAINING YEARS

— took a total of two weeks before the isolation and loneliness caused by the company's culture set in, followed by paranoia and distrust at one month.

— he already had it worse than most because he received more opportunities than other trainees, but somehow everything got even worse when he was chosen for the next debut team.

— was kicked off the company six months after he joined. they liked him, but not enough to risk having that sort of liability.

— had all but given up on a career in music when beau approached him in 2014. being able to sing again was enough for him to accept, despite his past experiences.

— was well liked by the trainers because he worked hard and produced results, they didn't need to babysit him, give him to tools and knowledge and he can do it himself.

— unfortunately had difficulty getting along with other trainees because of how prickly and aggressive he can be. the trainers do enough shouting already.

— was super ecstatic when he finally got the chance to debut in 2016. it felt like all the hardwork that he put in was worth it and he'd finally have a chance to sing for more people.
