FASHION: when you're as pretty as sori, you can turn anything to fashion. sori isn't really one to fret about fashion – clothes are clothes; though, she does have her preference. sori is quite minimal when it comes to dressing up; she doesn't favour outstanding bright patterns – she wants her beauty to be the main star. instead, she goes for a muter colour. pastel colours are her favourite colours. she likes both skirts and pants equally. she likes jewellery as well! she likes big jewelleries though – it's a habit of her to flex. she prefers high heels over flats too.

BACKGROUND: meet ahn sori – the golden girl from gyeonggi. she was born in a rather conservative family; her father is a high school principal and her mother is a housewife. sori was raised to become someone successful – and by the vision of her conservative parents, it is to have a respectable job; you know the drills. engineers; doctors; pharmacists; those who they can brag about. since young, sori was taught on to focus in life while holding tight to the conservative values her family shares. sori was enrolled to an all-girls high school; and she did rather amazing there. in a way, she gave her parents the hope that they needed – that they are good parents. sori has an older brother but well, let's just say that he isn't as intellectually gifted as she is. she graduated high school with flying colours and did spectacular on the college admission test. as a result, she placed herself in seoul university, majoring in civil engineering – it was a course that her parents want her to take.

university life is tough; it was a total culture shock for sori – she wasn't an angel during high school. sure, she went on some dates with the seniors from the neighboring school; gained some experience but university? it's just another thing. once she tried adapting with everything, it all becomes fun. too much fun; as a matter of fact. sori broke away from her shy pupa and enjoyed the privileges of being pretty. she has a lot of friends, boys lined up to know her and girls would do anything to be seen with her. 

it's only natural that this girl would use her visuals to make money and that is, by being a model of a huge brand, stylenanda. she instantly become a people's favourite – she even went viral for her beauty. all of the outfits she modelled sold out fast. stylenanda is famous for it's pretty faces; from model park sora to jung minhee but ahn sori? she's on a different level. 

it was then that fate decided to play its' part on showing sori that even pretty girls can't avoid rainy days. sori got too immersed on her modelling career that she neglected her studies – she failed her papers and the university dropped her out. in other words, she got expelled. her parents were livid when they heard that – she was supposed to be the family's breadwinner. the fact that sori decided to go for a modelling career made them more angry – it unsettled them when they see sori in crop tops and short shorts. 

sori and her parents got into a fight – sori was angry from the fact that her parents wanted to control her life while sori's parents were angry that she went against their views. in the end, sori and her parents decided to take their own path – sori's parents would only forgive her if she pursue her studies near their house so they can police her; and sori would only talk to them once they agree with her life decisions.

sure, that seems unsettling but sori was adamant on pursuing her career as a model. being a model for a clothing brand is fun, sure but she wanted more. she wanted to be known as a model, walking on a runway. a model who's all high-fashioned; like irene kim! so, she auditioned for countless modelling agencies. they said she has it all – from her looks to her body; but she's lacking one thing: her height. with the height of 167 cm, no modelling agencies would accept her; even with an amazing portfolio. 

when sori auditioned to esteem, she was the shortest girl to audition – but they claimed they saw potential in her. they referred her to sm entertainment – if she passed the audition and become an idol, she might have a future in modelling. she had a rough time deciding – but she realized that it is the only way. so, she auditioned to sm entertainment.

PERSONALITY: 

sori is very optimistic when it comes to life – she likes to think that life is a journey and there's no such thing as losing in this journey. just because some things weren't made for you, it doesn't certainly mean that other things do not. she likes to focus on having fun in the present and just go with the flow. it becomes detrimental at times – she does seem to be too relaxed; even when it comes to matters of her future but it benefits her most of the time. she relies on her optimism to get through life and to not feel sad whenever something bad happens to her – especially since she didn't have a lot of people to lean on.

sori is very open-minded — despite the fact that she was raised in a family of people who are close-minded. she likes to think that every one is different; hence why it's called 'individuality'. while sori might participate in gossipping, she really doesn't bat an eyelash if someone she knows are into sugar daddies or are climbing the success ladder by ual favours. to her, what's most important is that they are kind to her and they respect her. 

sori is also very caring. she likes to help others; as a matter of fact, she feeds off from people's good energy. that's why she likes to keep everyone in the room positive! she's the type of person to go out of her way to help other people; sometimes, even to those who wronged her. she's not one to hold grudges and wishes peace upon everyone. sori is also very caring towards animals as well. she loves animals and is good with them! she's also very environmentally conscious. while she might find it hard for her to support some lifestyles like veganism, she did stop using plastic items and went for a better alternative. think of her as a mother who always help others; even if it costs her.

just because she's kind doesn't mean that she's a pushover! ahn sori is very assertive – while she might not show it to others in a direct manner, sori knows how to insert herself and make others agree with her. she knows how to charm others and let other people trusts her. in a way, she's the kind of person you would trust her with your secrets just after talking to her for half an hour. she's friendly – but not in an obnoxious way. she's also very funny; while her humour sometimes are questionable, the way she laiughs before even telling her joke is enough to crack people out.

sori is also very brave. she realizes that opportunities don't come twice; so, she's not afraid to take risks. in her opinion, you would never fail if you give it your best. she's also not afraid of speaking her mind; whether it's her opinion or it's to protect herself, sori isn't one to shy from expressing herself out. she knows that no one would stand up for her but herself – some might call her out for being 'disrespectful' but in reality, she just wouldn't let herself be disrespected by someone else.

sori is very impulsive – she's not good at making decisions; especially life-changing decisions. instead of thinking thoroughly, sori likes to enjoy life as it is and not make a huge issue on things in life. fretting would take you nowhere – that's what she said; but her lack of responsibility in making choices is concerning. she decided to be an idol trainee literally a day after she was told that she would succeed as an idol. she didn't even think of how hard it is going to be for her – all that she knows is that she's having fun in life.

despite that, sori can be stubborn. she can be very stubborn. sure, she might seem easy to talk to – sori is literally all smiles and laughs but this girl is a debater. she's sharp-tongued and she knows how to use her wit. even when her point might be illogical, she still would defend her opinions and eventually, you would think that her opinion makes sense. she can literally convince you that she has three legs and she hides on inside her pants; best part is, you wouldn't even think that she's lying.

being pretty is fun – most of the part, it is. however, it really makes your self esteem fluctuates. she becomes more self-conscious as days go; especially when it comes to her visuals. sure, it feels good having people to acknowledge you for your beauty – but what about her personality? people look at her and they think "stunning" instead of "kind" or "funny". some might say that it's nothing to feel sad off but she does feel that she's only a pretty face; and that her presence will equal to none once she gets older. plus, people do notice your flaws, just because you're the center of attraction; people notice your pimple, your dark eye circle, your bad hair day. some days like that really put her in a tight place.

sori can also be very gullible. look; sori's the kind of person to look out for the best in someone, but it does get too overboard sometimes. sori's the kind of girl to forgive someone for snitching her out to the trainers for going out on a date or she would go out of her way to help someone who wouldn't even help her if given the chance. she's that kind of an idiot; and while she did realize how stupid it made her look, she couldn't help but to offer them kindness and support. to be frank, it's not because she legitimately wants the best for them, it's just that she didn't want to seem like the bad guy.

don't let the angelic smile fool you! ahn sori is very rebellious; and cheeky too. she isn't a fan of rules and clearly, violates them a lot. rules are meant to be broken anyways, right? of course, nothing that would involve the authorities like killing or robbing a bank. she rebels usually through her diet – she was blessed with a fast metabolism. so, why wouldn't she get to eat a lot? especially when she trained hard! she's the kind of girl who would sneak boxes of chicken for the others to share and eat with her. she's also not a fan of the dating ban. to be honest, she did went on several dates with the male trainees but of course, they can't date. the things she let go to debut.

TRAINEE: sori become a trainee at the age of 21 – on 2015. it was some sort of miracle for her to be accepted to sm, they said. some said that they usually take younger trainees since they have more time to mold them; but sori liked the idea of being one of the odd ones. being special is great, right? if anything, experience is the best teacher in her case. she picked up twice as fast compared to her fellow trainees. sure, she's not the best out of all the trainees there but to be fair, she is the visual member. all she need to prove is that she's pretty with a personality; and that exactly is what she proved to them – but still, it is sm. she still can sing beautifully and dance gracefully. so, who cares if your beauty overshines your talent? is that a bad thing? at first, she didn't think so... but she's starting to hate the fact that her efforts go unnoticed.

• nct's johnny and everly's sori dated? — true — she didn't know how the picture got viral; but it's basically a selfie of johnny and sori being really cozy on a movie date. on the picture, sori was landing her shoulders on johnny's shoulders. they didn't get to exactly be a thing anyways because johnny was about to be busy for his debut. they called it quits and the relationship settled in good terms. however, the scandal did took a huge hit on sori's career since her career is based on being the nation's girlfriend.

— dongha and sori had never really been close to each other; true – she is the golden child; but sori's tight schedule as a student make it hard for the father to approach her daughter; especially since dongha and sori are different. plus, dongha is not as talkative as his wife is and while sori did try to talk to her father, usually it's just another boring conversation. jiah, on the other hand, is quite close to sori. she's usually the one to entertain her needs; and be there for her. well, after all, sori is her one and only daughter in the household. plus, she's the one who her mother can brag about. when she told her parents about her decisions to be a model, jiah is the angriest person alive – how would the villagers react to her daughter, wanting to be a model; when her daughter was supposed to break stereotypes and become a female engineer? her father was mostly angry due to the fact that she went against the conservative mindset he thought they all shared in the house; but later on, dongha still support her daughter's decisions. both of them didn't come to sori's debut showcase.

— johnny and sori both met briefly during their trainee years; to say that sparks fly is not a reach but they definitely didn't date. it is true that both of them liked each other. they went out on a date or two but after a while, johnny decided to call it quits when he was chosen for nct's debut. sori felt a little devastated but she can't lie; if she was about to debut, she would have done the same. in their relationship, sori is the one who took the lead. she was the one who set up dates and do surprises. they are still friends though!

— sori and meilan met when they were both chosen as the final line-up for the group. while they were both trainees but the fact that their is pretty huge and the language barrier definitely made it hard for them to connect – however, they both share the same thing; lack of family support. while meilan's family is far away, sori's family is distant when it comes to their relationship. in a way, sori and meilan swore to each other that they would be each other's close family. sori would tell meilan things that she won't share to anyone else easily and so did meilan.

STATUS: it was hard to be honest – it's true; she did not train as long as her other trainee mates do but still, she's a 94-liner; the oldest female trainee in sm. if we were to be honest, everly was her last shot at debuting. it didn't feel any better when fellow trainee ji hansol left. hansol is at the same age as she is; and he even debuted in another group at a different company! by default, ahn sori had become one of the popular trainees, not only due to her beauty but also, thanks to her age. everyone calls her 'unnie/noona'; even the trainers call her this to from time to time.

when ji hansol left, all eyes were on her. she was close to leaving – with a few male trainees that the trainers seem to keep an eye on, she felt that her debut would be years ahead. ahn sori just didn't have the time; and well, no one knew the urge to debut more than kim junmyeon, who trained for six years. it's a rare occurence that an idol would actually know a trainee (unless they trained together) but meeting a trainee? that's just a one of a million incident. he saw sori when he was in sm building – and told her to stay strong; that if anything ever happen that she should contact him.

that was the first time ahn sori had ever cry in front of someone – she never knew what it felt like to have someone who cares about you. what started as a humanitarian act becomes an act of care for someone he likes; he started notifying her about the news of any girl group debut, even those outside of the company – he even went to the company to train her at times! just to help a friend out, right?

when sori debuted, junmyeon did feel accomplished – but at the same time, sad. sad that sori wouldn't be needing any of his help anymore; that she can stand on her own feet now. he realized that he had feelings for the girl. he likes to spend time with her and he likes the idea of her being close to him.

to be frank, sori actually likes him as well – but really; sori didn't want to let him know because they are not on the same level. sori takes pride on being a celebrity; but she realized while she is just a rising idol, junmyeon is a legend; and how can she ever think that the feelings would be mutual?

as for now, they're really close friends. they both let the otther know about what they are up to and would tell the other about their schedule. they also often eat out together and train together as well! sori likes to a lot by calling him an oldie; even teaming up with kai and sehun sometimes in teasing him. everyone knows they like each other; they're just too dumb to realize that.

IDEAL TYPE: to be honest, their ideal type is themselves. sjdnjdnj; but junmyeon's ideal type is someone intellectual. someone that he could actually have a heated conversation and  would banter playfully with; while sori's ideal type is someone who's matured and would take care of her; it's not like she couldn't take care of herself – it just feels good to have someone else to take care of you.
