APPEARANCE
If you're visiting STARSHIP and stumble upon a girl with long, red hair, chances are you've met Jaekyung. She's generally sporting a bright red lipstick against her pale skin, along with some mascara and occasionally eyeliner. She has a small black mole under her left eye, and wears glasses around the dorm. She doesn't have any tattoos but has her ears pierced and a cartilage piercing. She cares about her appearance, working out often but still maintining a healthy body and never pressuring herself to appear as someone she's not only to fit beauty standards. 

When it comes to fashion on a casual day she wears skirts and dresses often, and loves summer clothing such as crop tops and shorts. She wears alot of denim but likes colorful tops such as yellows or pink. She likes showing skin and clothing that shows off her body. She also likes streetwear fashion and brands alot and will splurge her money on such clothes. When practicing or around the dorm she'll generally just wear sweatpants and a sport bra with a flannel or an oversized shirt with shorts and her hair thrown into a ponytail.

ELABORATION
When new trainees join or someone is being introduced to the group, Jaekyung will always be one of the first girls to introduce herself. She's very outgoing, loves meeting new people, and values first impressions. She's good at leading conversations and enjoys getting to know different types of people. Jaekyung is very adaptable to her surroundings, never really feeling uncomfortable or out of place even in new environments. She's also very playful and fun-loving, being the type to throw a party in the dorm rooms after a tense day as a way to relax. Her creativity is one of her most useful traits as an idol, songwriting and choreographing coming somewhat easy to her. She's also very intelligent and well rounded on different topics.

Confidence spills from Jaekyung, as she always appears relaxed and never really concerned about anything, but this actually stems from her past insecurities. It's as if she subconciously forces herself to convince her mind that she's the best and that she has nothing to worry about, only to hide away her real fears beneath the strong appearance. She's very determined to achieve her goals, but sometimes her determination gets the best of her and she loses sight of the real goal in mind. After getting to know her, you'll also realize that she can be a bit unfiltered at times. She naturally has a sarcastic tone at times which can make it difficult to tell if she's being serious or not, and she's extremely outspoken. While her honesty is appreciated, sonetimes she has to pull back and consider how more sensitive people may take it. Another observation you can make about Jaekyung is that sometimes she's completely off into her own world. She spaces out at times if becoming uninterested or distracted by something else, but it's more of a small quirk.

Beyond the outgoing personality and quriks here and there, there is a flawed side to Jaekyung that not everyone gets to see. The one thing the fans will probably never know is how much of a potty mouth she has. It's not like she swears in every other sentence, but she does have no issue saying whatever passionate words she feels at he time. She can also be opinionated at times, not doing it on purpose but without even realizing she tends to judge things around her and share unwanted opinions but she is trying to fix this. She's also very stubborn, taking note of the rules but ultimately breaking them in one way or another if she feels that she can get away with it or that if she does get caught, it won't be too much of an issue. The most unexpected side that even some people close to her still don't realize is how competetive she is. Of course small parts of it come out when she's playing games and is clearly competitive, but in real aspects of her life she can find herself being overly competitive as well. It's not that she doesn't want others to do good, but if she sees them as a threat to who she wants to be then she'll try to find a solution to it. She can be very cunning and use her brain to think out different possibilities to sneakily do what she needs to to get what she wants. She never takes this too far to the point where anyone is actually harmed, but she does just enough to give herself an extra push.

Jaekyung grew up as an only child, her parents generally proccupied with their restaurant business, leaving her to enteratin herself. She'd often times either help out around the restaurant as much as she could or read books but eventually she grew tired of doing the same things. One day she decided it would be fun to put on a show for the customers, throwing her own mini concert showcasing her dancing and singing skills the best that she could for a nine year old. At first her parents prepared to stop her from disturbing the customers but as the restaurant generally attracts families, the feedback was actually positive towards the cute young girl performing. This marked the day her love for performing began. Her parents decided to register her for dance lessons, giving her a hobbie outside of school and the family business. Her passion for dance grew over time and with the rise of kpop groups she began to idolize groups such as Girls Generation and KARA. She realized that one day, she'd like to stand on stage as an idol as well.

In high school is when she started taking her interest in music and dance more seriously. She enrolled in Hanlim Multi Arts School, now surrounded by others aspiring to go down similar paths in the arts and entertainment industry. This is both when she became more competetive, and more insecure. She'd started comparing all aspects of herself to others, and attending numerous auditions only to be rejected didn't help. She'd developed the habit of appearing overly confident to try and force herself into believing she'd come out on top in the end no matter what. As she saw her peers being accepted into agencies, she couldn't help but secretly question her own capabilities. Though shoving this aside, she realized she'd come too far to just let her nerves and some rejections get the best of her. Finishing her audition for STARSHIP ENTERTAINMENT, she didn't actually have much confidence that she'd make it, but had faith and hope that anything coukd happen. Now that she's finally found a company to call home, her eyes are set on debut.

The two both attended Hanlim Multi Arts School, and trained shortly together. Although Yeonjung has debuted already and Jaekyung is still working on it, the two have maintained their friendship, being almost like sisters within the company. Even as Jaekyung is the older of the two, Yeonjung gives her advice on dealing with training and pushes Jaekyung to work hard so that they can meet on stage one day.

TRAINEE LIFE
Jaekyung's trainee life has been a rollercoaster of emotions to say the least. On the good side she's found herself with a group of girls she can relate to and  who despite any disagreements or conflicts they might have with each other, they always have each other's backs at the end of the day. She's gained independence and a stronger work ethic, but her life revolving around practice with the possibility of never even debuting has been extremely pressuring as well. Sometimes she questions if any of this will even pay off in the end and fears that she's wasting her time. Missing out on experiences such as dating and standard university life are difficult for her. Although she isn't able to live a regular life she's one of the girls who always finds ways to "bend the rules" and make room for fun moments with the others. She's also been learning to reflect more on herself and the self growth is important, and despite it all she wouldn't miss out on the opportunity for anything.
