I've had some questions about The Arc of Time and what the heck I'm doing with that fic, so I figure I'll answer them here in case other readers have the same questions.

THE BIG PICTURE

1) My brain arching to much with the story line I'm confused
2) I feel that every time I read every chapter the endings made me hanging?

I see fewer comments about confusion as the fic goes on and it becomes clear what I'm doing with the structure. I think most of you have recognized the pattern, but I'll spell it out in detail here, just to be sure.

The fic is made up of five stories told at the same time:

• Stars Fall From Your Lips
• Smoke and Mirrors
• Faraway Days
• Ties That Bind
• The Shape of Your Name

As some of you guessed already, the stories run in themed cycles. So every time a new chapter of Stars Fall From Your Lips appears, it means a new cycle has started. The other stories appear in random (or is it??) order after Stars until the theme for that cycle has played out in every story. Then a new cycle and new theme begins. So if you're waiting for a chapter of your favorite storyline, just look back to the last chapter of Stars Fall to see how long you have to wait. ;)

This means that the chapters aren't complete stories of each life. They are just parts of the ongoing five storylines. But all the chapters are linked. What happens in Stars Fall ripples through the other stories, each life affecting the one after it in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. These cascading consequences will start becoming more and more obvious as the story progresses. I've noticed that some of you have already started to make some connections. ^^

3) Der r few lives where yunjae will hv sad ending,right?

Yes, some of these stories have sad endings. I want to be upfront with you readers so you're prepared for it. There is real heartbreak in this fic, and YunJae will die in some storylines. But this is a reincarnation fic, so you know that they'll be reborn again. And some stories have happy endings! Not all of them end badly for YunJae. The tricky part for you readers will be guessing which stories are which.

STARS FALL FROM YOUR LIPS

4) What era or year is this story? Where are they?

It takes place at an unknown time in the distant past. It was long enough ago that they measured time differently than we do now. I haven't said where they are, but there are a few hints in there. I'd rather not spell this one out.

5) Is it the future Jae sees?

Yes! Jae is seeing visions of his future lives with Yunho. They come to him in fragments when he sleeps or has one of his fits, but they appear often enough that he's been able to figure out the meaning of some of them.

SMOKE AND MIRRORS

6) Jaejoong is always the one in pain or suffering in every life except for Smokes and Mirrors, or am i wrong Mira?

(I broke this down for the reader in the comments, but let me share it here to be clear.)

MMmm, yes, but it's not that simple. And there's a big reason why that you'll learn later. But even so, they're both suffering in these stories.
Stars Fall-- right now, Jae is suffering more, but that will change very soon. And Jae also has the consolation of his visions.
S &M: Neither one is really suffering, but Yunho's definitely more in love right now. 
Faraway Days: Jae is dying, but Yunho is watching the love of his life die before his eyes and can't do a thing to help him
Ties That Bind: Jae is more in love right now, it seems, but Yunho has a terrible, hard life
Shape of Your Name: Jae is torn between desire and taboo, but honestly, Yunho's suffering more. You'll learn all about it in the next chapter of that story 

FARAWAY DAYS

7) Why is this so saddd?
8) Is jeje relly going to die in this one?

Yeah, this storyline really is sad. It's hard for me to write, so I can imagine it's even harder to read. Jae being sick is awful. Yunho having to watch him die is heartwrenching. As I mentioned, YunJae will die in some these storylines. And in some they'll be happy. You'll just have to wait and see which this one is. :/

Actually, nobody really has any questions about this storyline. Hmm.

THE SHAPE OF YOUR NAME

9) What is the age difference between Jae and Yunho in this story?  

I'd hoped I could stay fuzzy on their age difference, but yoonshi91 made me think it through and commit. XD You can read the whole conversation where I made the decision here. (You have to be logged in to see it.) We agreed that the is 2-ish years. So Yunho was 14 when 16-year-old Jae left for court. And he was going on 12 when Jae started experimenting ually. A lot of their moments together will make more sense in chapters coming up where you read his side of the story. 

10) I wonder when did Yunho start to develop feelings for his brother. When he said "I'll marry you", did he really mean it?

I don't want to spoil anything coming up in the next few chapters, but you'll hear more about Yunho's perspective on their childhood and how he felt about it all. Yes, he did mean it when he said he'd marry Jae--but he had a very childish understanding of what marriage meant at that age. He would never say it now, even though he wants Jaejoong so badly, because he understands how society works and that marriage is impossible for them.
