MInhee's personality is a bit on the different side. She is a calm person in general but it can come off as being an inifferent person when it comes to how others think about her but that is just her unreadable face when she is thinking. It is something that her family is known for but when they smile, they seem the happiest people. She is an innocent person. She trusted everyone until the bullying started (that will be told in the bg) but learned not to do that as much. Her friends liked how innocent she was that they would protect her as much as they could to keep her how she was. She is a sweetheart whom is  shy yet outgoing when with those she trust and cares for. . She cares about others way more than herself and likes to give giftts to her loved ones.  Although she can be blunt at times when others least expect it, she is truely a nice person. She does have a filter sometimes but once something pops in her head, it can come out in two ways. nice and innocent or sarcastic and sort of mean sounding/irritating. She became a self relient person during her being bulliied. She wanted to make sure that she could do what she wanted and not be a bother to everyone so she made sure she could and would do everything by herself even if others wanted to help. 

She likes to make friends but doesn't know how to start conversations which makes her seem uninterested. Because of this, she doesn't have much friends. The friends she does have and hang with know how she truely is.  She is sensitive to most things including how others view her and their emotion they feel when with her which is a reason which she keeps up her appearance even if she isn't in the mood too. She knew her family didn't mean to but with her father being a plastic surgeon, she became vain about how she looks like. She wants to look perfect in her eyes which also got her the unresponsive feel from others whom don't know her much and just thought she was obsessed with her looks. She started buy so many beauty products to help her beauty routine that she has a part of her closet just dedicated for beauty and another section for her diet  and workout gear  to keep herself in shape. Although she has gone through alot of things in the past, she can still be a bit gullible. It mostly comes with her friends though and falling for jokes or believing in things that her friends say. She gets teased by them sometimes but she knows they mean well. Minhee is persistant when it comes to mostly everything in her life. It can either lead to a good thing when it comes to classes or bad when it comes to herself and looks. She is very insecure about herself. Although her family tries to get her to be confident in herself and fine with herself, it doesn't help much. It did till the bullying happened and it stayed in her head. She has gone to the point of buying loadds of beauty items to keep her face looking youthful  and started excersising for multiple hours a day to keep her shape as well as diet most of the times too. IT was fixed for a bit while she was getting treatment but once she started prepping for debut, she slowly started getting obsessed with her looks again.  

Minhee though is a shy girl whom is strong and tough. She has a tough front on with thick walls since in multiple instances through out school, was bullied. Her flaw back then was she trusted to easily. Since she has been working towards her future, something she is passionate about, she stood out as a young child. She was also bullied because of how she acted. She was innocent and although she always wanted to make friends, no one ever wanted to approach her. Others seemed to like her but since she was also an uljjang, they could never approach her because of an intimidating vibe she started giving off from being bullied As she got older, more and more people began to dislike her because of the responces she'd give. Although a few people would confess to her, she would politely decline to them saying she wasn't interested in dating. To everyone who watched the confessions or heard about it from others, they started to have perseptions of Minhee. Some would end up saying she was stuck up since no  one interested her and her tone was nonchalant. Others though, thought it was admirable to still get confessions but try to politely turn others down even knowing what they'd say. She gained fans from everything she did and antifans as well. She started to build up walls from this and learned to only trust when it is earned She has some trust issues from this since becoming her friend is tough. She does have some anxiety though before major things such as exams and  performances. At times she has stress where she overdoes things or not eat well (forget to eat) but the day of those events, she does her best to relax She learned to stand up for her friends and herself..not caaring what others think of her now. When she dances though, it's a different story. She has graceful movements and is always confident even if she does a step or two wrong. She gives her all in anything she does, whether it be dance, school or work. Although at times of weakness, she does want to break down but keeps going knowing it'll eventually pass. She has a tendence though on collapsing from her persistance and perfection to what she wants to achieve but again, she is doing what makes her happy in the end. That always makes her smile seeing it all become worth it She is a caring individual and always puts everyone else besides herself first. She is an encouraging person to all those around her and always believes in everyone. She is like a cheerleader for her friends (direct quote from Minhyun). She is intellegent with her schoolsubjects like math and science which is something she is proud of. She always did her best even when things were going on in life. All her friends also believe she is a trust worthy person. She has proven time and again that no matter what is going on, if her friends tell her soemthing, she will never repeat it agian unless you give her permission too. It isn't her place to retell anythign her friends have trusted her with and she never wants to break that trust. .  

background

Minhee was a normal girl who loved to play with dolls and dress up in girly and frilly clothing. She is the only child of her mother and father. Her mother and father met in their first year of college and fell in love automatically. Love at first sight is what they called it yet the other didn't know about it for awhile. About 3 months after meeting and becoming friends, they began dating with hope it can turn into something more. After dating for a few years, they married and moved to Seoul to start a new life together. They worked hard after college, her father as a doctor and her mother as a nurse at the same hospital coincidentally enough. Although they were always busy, they always made sure their family was #1 in their priotiries and made sure that although they were at work, they had a family member or a high rated nanny take care of their little girl.

Once she started growing up, Minhee began getting to know all her famliy members (extended wise) and met her cousin Lee Hyori whom is said to be Minhee's cousin from her mothers side. Although she wanted to take care of MInhee more and watch her grow in person instead of in photos,  she couldn't do much because of her training and debut in Finkl.  As Minhee grew up, her parents gave the world to her as well as tried to keep her humble, level headed and confident in how she looks. It wasn't till Hyori ended up debuting as a solo artist that the whole family was able to go visit her at a concert and stay to watch the whole thing. As Minhee watched her cousin perform, she saw how happy her cousin was performing onstage and it made her want to persue something as well to make her just as happy. MInhee ended up telling her whole family including Hyori backstage with the biggest smile on her face. Hyori just hugged her and said, "Do whatever makes you happy okay Minhee! Never Give up!!" Her mother signed her up for dance lessons the very next day  as a start to see if she would enjoy it and actually wanted to keep on doing it in the long run. That one moment changed her life forever as she realized during her 1st year at dance classes, she loved dancing.

After a few years before entering middle school, Minhee told her parents of becoming a singer and dancer and although they were skeptical since she was still a child, they decided to help her to see if it was something she really wanted to persue. Minhee's familly went with her to Audition after audition but because of her age, she was shot down and asked to come back when she was at least a few years older. It hurt her alot but she kept on practicing her dancing and singing skills in the dance studio she went to as a way to try and accomplish her dreams. When she became 14, she auditioned to SM Ent and was chosen to become a trainee

Shortly after getting chosen to be a trainee in SM, Minhee's schedule became busy due to school and practice at the company. A few months past and she started noticing some small issues happening at school. She begain getting bullied in subtle ways from threatening notes being left on her desk to her getting pranked on in public school areas to even being sent text messages that insulted her. She would come out of school frustrated but usually would releave stress at practice. She learned in one of her trainee classes to not listen to others and keep your head held up high judt like how her family would tell her as well at home. She did just that. some of the pranks and bullying stopped but others kept on trying to break her since they were jealous. Jealous at MInhee for getting in a popular company, doing CFs with some of her company members and jealous from her natural beauty.  As it became a year of bullying happening to her, she started isolating herself from her friends and family since she didn't know what to do. She did what was told from her company to do, ignore it and make it seem like it doesn't affect her but soon after, She started feeling like maybe what one particular girl said was true...that she didn't deserve everything she had but she was always telling herself that she was just jealous of her since she has been wanting to do this for most of her life.

She still excelled at school and practices but without knowing it, she started having slight attitudes with ones close to her. Since she felt alone, she thought people who wanted to be her friends were doing it out of pity and those that liked her since she was younger, wanted something to but didn't know what. She began ignoring everyone including her family as she tried to get over this feeling and try to fix herself. It wasn't till about half a year later that she had an outburst at the company while practicing that in turn led to a panic attack. She was taken to the hospital in a rush as the company called her family to met them there. After a few hrs of waiting for results and tests, Minhee was diagnosed with Anxiety as well as body dismorphia.

When visiting hrs were open, Minhee got all the help she needed. She was able to let her loved ones and her friends (from school and from the company) what had been going on for the past year and a half. She had ended up realizing that those at the hospital were ones that truely cared for her and with that, she smiled and felt truely happy for the first time in awhile. After being released from the hospital a day later, the company ended up sending her to therapy to help her out emotionally and fix what others have done to her in the past. She still went to school but had her close friends around her and they stayed with her, confronted the bullies and helped her bring normalizam back to her daily life. Although everything started to look up in her psychological, emotional and personal life, her company life wasn't gong that well. With everything the company had to do to help her get the treatment to help her emotinal state, the company decided that they needed to have a chat with Minhee. Because of the incidents happening in the current moment, she wouldn't be able to be in any upcoming girl groups anytime soon. She was going to be debuting in an unnamed group (soon to be red velvet) but with her current condition, it wouldn't happen.

Since she was doing what she needed to get better, the company had the difficult issue at hand on whether to drop her or keep her in the company and her future for now be unseen since the next girl group wouldn't be made for quite some time. They brought Minhee and her family in to talk about the hard decision once she was out of the hospital and feeling better. While they talked the whole day of what would happen, They still wanted her to get the therapy and help she needed from the company until she thought she was 100% fine.  The only thing was her future was up in the air on if she'd be able to debut in the next group or not.. of course she was heartbroken from how close she was to her dream and the fact that her outburst was uncalled for but was a cry for attention for help..She felt bad about everything that happened but even though all this happened, she wanted to continue to reach her dream of debuting. she decided to work on her own as well as with therapists to help herself emotionally as well as physically. 

With the help of her friends, family and the resources the company had, Minhee was able to get stronger and was able to focus on her well being. She trained night and day to better herself emotionally, vocally, and everyway inbetween. When she got word that she would be in the upcoming girl group sm had in mind, she started silently crying as she thanked them multiple times for choosing her. She and her future members all cried together and celebrated that night.

TRAINING 8-9 years

She started training in 2009 when she was 14 years old, almost 15. She stayed there training everyday and rarely saw her famly besides her cousin from time to time. She did the best she could, alwasy giving it her all (110% at best) and she was able to find her voice soon after the incident in her life happened. She is one of the trainees who have trained the longest in sm in her group.

this was when they were discussing her future in sm. Someone required the information unknowingly to the company but it soon fuzzled out when Minhee would be seen going and leaving from SM everyday.

Is Minhee and Eric Dating? (doesn't have to be used. just a suggestion)

SM thought it was a good idea for her to hang out with others to help get the word of GJSN. She was able to hang with some of her friends together in public and only worry about being too close to some. When eric's fans saw them together, they started rumors about the two dating because of how comfortable they looked with each other. SM did deny the rumors and only said they were good friends. 

Fans are worries about Minhee's weight.

As their schedules became hectic, Minhee started losing weight.. She exercised and ate healthy like she was taught for her debut in the winter subunit. She wanted to look proper for the theme of the song and she lost enough weight where it was healthy. It wasn't till  the spring subunit comeback that her body dysmorphia came back and she slowly began shrinking during promotion. some from the regular weightloss from being in motion the rest from her not eating much and exercising more. Once the promotions were over, she was able to talk to someone in her company to help regulat her eating as well as rest slightly and schedule some therapy during practice to help her mentally. As they began to prepare for the next comeback, fans noticed that Minhee was back at a healthy body/weight and it died down.

Her father is a well known plastic surgeon that is widely popular in South Korea while her mother is a nurse. Although their jobs keep them somewhat close to one another, they play off each others strengths. They understand each other very well and both help each other in their weak points during work. Her mother is very loud and outgoing while her father is quiet and to himself. when they are put together though, they compliment each other very well. Everyone can tell that they are deeply in love with each other, even from a young age.  Her mother and father are always supporting her in everything she does. Whether it be in personal or general problems, they are always there to help her out. They want her to keep her self esteem up and although others have said she needed plastic surgery, Her parents  think she is perfect the way and tries  to boost her confidence up. .

Hyori is Minhee's cousin who debuted in a gropu called Finkl. Her whole family was happy and extatic about it that they went ot see her debut except for Minhee's mother and father. Minhee was born and still too little to see concerts. Hyori understood but once she debuted as a solo artist, Minhee and her family were able to join everyone at Hyori's concert. Hyori is the reason why Minhee wanted to join the idol world. With Hyori's advice, Minhee had a determined dream that she would be apart of. Hyori and Minhee would always be in touch with calls, messages and such on SNS and other apps. Since they are family, they looked out for one another in this hard idol world. She also helped Minhee and Eric hang out when possible

shy at first but after you get to know him, nice, talkative, sweet and easy going person. / Minhee met Minhyun during Middle school and was her best friend since then. He let her vent and talk about anything and would listen and vice versa. They are like brother and sister since both are only children. Minhyun along with her friend Jisun and a few others helped Minhee when the bullying started and tried to help her stay positive and not worry much about how she looks. closeness: 8

one of the people minhee is open to about everything. Although it took a few encounters to be completely comfortable with one another, they are best friends. When asked who is  the closest in the group, it's always them. They are able to confide in one another like close sisters and don't judge each other unless it's to tell them the truth. They both made a pact to always be told the truth even if it hurt. They are each other's shoulder to cry on or lean on when needed and the one person they hug or look to when something amazing happens.

Wendy was the closest person Minhee was close to. While she did talk to others, Wendy and her could talk about everything and not get consumed by the hardship and survival competitions that came with the trainee territory. although she wasn't able to debut with her friends in rv, she was their biggest fan and only wished the best for them! ✩ Eric Nam has a unique personality. He  is always gentleman like to everyone he meets. He hardly dislikes or doesn't get along with someone because he ends up being polite to them at first introduction. As time goes on, he loves to make everyone laugh so he tells alot of jokes. Sometimes he isn't trying to be funny yet it makes others laugh. He loves to make other smile even if his image is ruined by it. He is a big dork (what his friends call him) because of because he is just overly enthusiastic about everything he is passionate about and doesn't care about waht others think about him most of the time.  He is a people pleaser but to a point. . He has a great time giving gifts to his friends and making their day whether it be in calls, texts or taking them with him when he goes out to eat or amusement parks. 

First Meeting

✩ Minhee and Eric met when she was the lead girl in his mv for Love song. This was one of the first mv shoots outside of SM that Minhee was apart of. It was a shoot that SM booked with B2M Ent that Minhee was excited about. She had only been in mv's for her company and with other artists from there. It was the first time she shot for a seperate company all together with SM's permission. Although they met for the first time and were slightly awkward at first, they eventually became more comfortable around each other as the shoot went on. They began laughing and started to play around and show off chemistry like the director wanted for the mv. The shot was over so fast for them that it didn't even feel like work, just hanging out with a old friend although they just met each other. Once  the  filming was over, they exchanged contact information to keep in touch.

✩ Over the next few year of their friendship after the initial meeting, Eric became more and more popular while Minhee had news of her (possible) upcoming debut with SM being canceled. She did feel bad and messaged her friends as well as Wendy, Minhyun and eric but picked herself up from this rut. To help Minhee out, they went to an amusement park together to get her back in a cheerful mood since he liked when she smiled the best. IT worked and they had a great time together. They took loads of photos but some of Eric's fans did as well in secret. Thus, the rumor beginning of them being together. .They had to release statements saying they are only friends and for at least a few months had to let it die down since his comeback was soon as well. They still talked and hung out buy just in secret for now. It was when she was preparing for debut when SM wanted them to be in public more with other friends to get publicity little by little. Atter spending so much time together, they eventually always hung out together at music show tapings, red carpet events, formal and informal meetings to even going to each others fan signings as fans. Although this is not a typical things to do, they both had a pretty calm fanbase and would only make a scene if either of their health looked like it was declining, they were being treated unfairly or evil editing with shows. They had guest appearances on each others reality shows they had out during different times. Eric showed up on GJSN's reality show that followed them while GJSN would be on his V app live streams as well as his variety shows that he started hosting..They would always talk and post on each others social media accounts for fun. Usually Eric would be posting little things on Minhee's SNS accounts since she never used it. He took it upon himself to take her phone and take photos of each other or of selcas together. While she wasn't looking, he'd be posting one everytime they hung out and would leave a funny  caption depending on the photo.

Eric would post a photo of them together sometimes to just show how close they were and capiton it with a line from a movie they both enjoyed.It was something their fans would look foward to. They began to call Eric and Minhee "Mininam". It was a play on their names since mini is close to minhee's nickname and nam is from eric's last name. (can change the ship name if you'd like)

 

It wasn't until minhee was in the tabloids for her weight did eric call minhee to have a talk with her in private. They were able to arrange a meeting place thanks to B2M and her cousin . They met in a practice room where she began spilling about how she relapsed with her body dysmorphic disorder. She was comparing herself a bit to the conceptshe was to take part in that she sarted struggling with her appearance and in turn began exercising more and eating less. He comforted her and revealed his feeling for her as they hugged. She was surprised to say the least but she smiled as she pulled back and looked him in the eyes. She confessed to him as well,her eyes watering up as she felt butterflies in her stomache.
