BACKGROUND:

Eunbi had loved idols since she was in her early teens, being a fan of many second-generation groups. However, her parents wanted her to go to university and get a white-collar job. They later managed to reach a compromise and allowed Eunbi to try auditioning for a company after graduating from high school in 2011.

SM Entertainment was Eunbi's first company, which she left after only several months (explained under trainee life). Eunbi decided that maybe idol life wasn't for her, and decided to go to university. In 2015, she graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in economics. Eunbi had also joined open mics in university for fun, and realised she loved singing on stage, and wanted to fulfil her dream of singing on stage before she turned 30, and decided the best way to do so was to become an idol. She auditioned for Fantasia Entertainment (fictional company) and became a member of Nova, a 7-membered girl group that debuted in 2017 but later disbanded in 2018. Eunbi was about to give up on her dreams and return back to normal life but one night when she was at a karaoke lounge, she was spotted by none other than Jay Park himself. That's how she ended up in AOMG.

How did they end up in Yves : Erika was a former ballerina who became a member of second generation girlgroup Moonlite (discography twin : Loona 1/3) when she was 19, but being young and unable to handle the pressure of being an idol, she started partying and sleeping around resulting in her becoming pregnant. Being a young mother and former idol, Erika was criticised for a lot of her behaviours and parenting habits. (e.g diet during pregnancy, dyeing her hair while pregnant, choosing to have a c-section, wearing slightly revealing clothes.) Inspired by the popular idol Joo Jinhee, Erika decided not to care about unconstructive criticism and just do what made her happy. Now that her daughter is older, Erika has decided to take a second shot at being an idol. Yves represents what Erika stands for, to love yourself and not conform to others' expectations of you.

How did they end up in Yves : Jinhee had first debuted as a member of Wonder Girls in 2007, but due to JYP being stingy and mistreating their artistes at that time her health declined and her parents removed her from the group. Jinhee then joined Cube Entertainment in 2008 when she debuted in the group 4Minute. Over the past decade, Jinhee has enjoyed success as both a member of 4Minute and as a soloist, however, Korean netizens disliked her as she liked to do mature performances, and called her a "sellout" and "attention and literal ". Once, she was falsely accused of being pregnant with a labelmate's child and recieved a lot of hate for it. 4Minute disbanded in 2016 and Jinhee continued to be a solo artist with Cube until 2018 when she was kicked out of the company for dating Pentagon's E'Dawn. How did they end up in Yves : Jisoo was a former YG Entertainment trainee and was part of the lineup for Pinkpunk, 2NE1's 9-membered sister group. However, due to issues with other trainees, Pinkpunk's member count dropped from 9 to 5. Because YG wanted the group to "remind people of 2NE1", Jisoo was cut out of the lineup leaving Blackpink to debut as the 4-membered group they are today. Seeing that the other trainees were getting younger and younger and doubtful she could become an idol due to her age, Jisoo eventually left YG in early 2018 and started working as a freelance dance coach while posting her dance covers and hiphop choreographies on Youtube. In mid 2018, one of Jisoo's choreographies was noticed by Simon D and she was invited to audition for AOMG.

PERSONA: Mama Giraffe (Mama because she is the group's "mother" and Giraffe from her nickname given due to her height)

TRAINEE LIFE:

SM Entertainment, being the "king" of the Korean entertainment industry, definitely had high standards for idols, and definitely, harsh trainings. Eunbi had to sing while doing sit-ups and having her stomach hit, and was even made to hold her head underwater and hold her breath for 5 minutes while having basketballs thrown at her stomach. Once, when she failed to recognise several notes on the piano, she had her ears slapped many times. Needless to say, Eunbi was not able to take the harsh trainings, and left after just three months.

After university, Eunbi auditioned for Fantasia Entertainment and became a member of the girl group Nova which debuted in 2017. Due to many girl groups debuting at the same time, Nova was shadowed due to being from an unknown company and their concept being too similar to other groups. After their first music video, they kept churning out digital releases and didn't perform on music shows or release MVs due to their limited budget, and eventually disbanded in March 2018.

After being spotted by Jay Park at a karaoke bar, Eunbi joined AOMG and debuted in Yves, a girl group meant to challenge the image of how female idols should be like. However, it seemed that Korea is still too conservative, as Yves recieved a lot of hate from Korean netizens due to their overly ual concept and were not allowed to promote on music shows. Furthermore, their debut MV was criticised as weird due to its many abrupt tempo changes. It didn't help that a sasaeng fan somehow managed to infiltrate their dorm and install hidden cameras which captured them , claiming "they were for a reality show".

Jay hoped that by sending the girls to Produce 101, they could have a chance to speak up for themselves and prove they are not just objects.

COMMENTS:  The sasaeng fan worked for a tv station and pretended he was producing a reality show that would show what Yves are like off-camera (he’s one of those people who seem normal at first but are actually not right in the mind).
Jinhee's boyfriend lives with Yves in their dorm and Erika's daughter lives with her parents (her whole family moved to Korea when she joined Yves).
I wanted to use Erika as the "main" but I did too many apps for her recently so I decided to use another character as the "main".
