BACKGROUND Jiyeon was in 1994 to a typical upper middle class Korean family. Even though she was a shy child, she found a strong interest in art and writing at a young age. Other than that, her early childhood and teenage years were normal.
Jiyeon went to Ulsan Arts High School after finishing middle school, and during her time there, she became best friends with a girl called Sohee, however they lost contact after high school ended and Jiyeon went to Japan for her university studies. In university, Jiyeon fell in love with one of her classmates, Jun, and they got married after university and settled down together in Japan. Jiyeon also became a artist and writer at Bushiroad, the company well known for producing Love Live School Idol Festival. Over the years, Jiyeon had a successful career at Bushiroad, being involved in the creation of several cards and stories for their various games, namely LLSIF, Bang Dream Girls Band Party and D4DJ Groovy Mix.
In 2023, Jiyeon was cast in We Meet Again, and relocated to Seoul for several months. Jiyeon's marriage ended in 2024.

Jiyeon and Jun have been together for 10 years and married for 6. Even back in university, they were both very studious despite their differences. Jun had wanted to excel in everything since young, and Jiyeon was just very passionate about art. Since their university graduation, they've both been busy with work, often overtiming Overwork is a very common part of Japanese working culture, and both of them were workaholics, Jun chasing promotion after promotion and Jiyeon chasing her passion for art and writing. They're too tired to do anything on weekends so they just do their own things at home, with bonding activities, physical affection and few and far between. Birthdays and anniversaries are usually celebrated with convenience store meals, and it's been years since they've bought each other gifts other than kitkats. Jiyeon is grateful to Jun for the time he has spent with her and everything he has done for her, but ever since she fell in love with Sohee again she started to feel that she was only staying with Jun out of commitment. LIFESTYLE Jiyeon has been working remotely ever since she relocated to Korea. If she has a meeting on the day, she will wake up at 7am to put on some light makeup and change into her work clothes (a white dress shirt with a black blazer and a black pants or skirt), otherwise she will wake up just before 9 when work starts. She usually doesn't eat breakfast before work unless she has time to spare, and although her working hours end at 6pm, she usually works until later. On average, she taps out at around 10pm to 12am, and if she isn't too tired after work she will spend some time on social media, watching dramas or youtube and playing mobile games.
On weekends, Jiyeon wakes up anytime between 11am to 2pm and will pretty much just do anything she wants for the day, usually engaging in her writing and art that isn't for work. On both weekdays and weekends, Jiyeon relies on takeout for food, or goes to the convenience store near her apartment if she feels like going out. If she is really broke (usually during the last few days of the month) she will just cook some cup noodles.

Jiyeon : My old school friend shared the casting call on her social media and I happened to notice it.
Sohee : Jiyeonnie told me about it... There must be a reason why she did that right?
WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS DOCUMENTARY?
Jiyeon : I hastily left my first love many years ago and even though I am now married to my partner of 10 years, I ended up falling in love with my first love again. I want to express the regrets I have for leaving her and I hope she will give me a chance to love her properly.
Sohee : Uh, well, Jiyeonnie asked me to... (she breaks composure) Hey Shin Jiyeon! You better tell me why you asked me to do this or I will shave your eyebrows when you are sleeping!

Jiyeon : Hi, I'm Shin Jiyeon, I'm 29 this year and I'm an illustrator and writer for a mobile game company.
Sohee : Hi, I'm Han So Hee, I'm an actress and you may remember me from shows like Nevertheless, My Name and World Of The Married.
HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
Jiyeon : Sohee and I were desk partners in high school.
Sohee : Jiyeonnie was my desk partner in high school, she was really quiet but I saw that she likes to draw so I befriended her.
WHY DID YOU WANT TO MEET THEM AGAIN?
Jiyeon : Because I fell in love with her again.
Sohee : Jiyeonnie just stopped talking to me after high school and I didn't know what's happening to her all these years then she suddenly contacted me... So I decided to get in touch with her and find out what's up.
WHEN DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU ALREADY LOVE THEM?
Jiyeon : I realised I was in love with Sohee for the first time that night many years ago when my parents went to another city to attend my dad's old school friend's wedding, and she stayed over at my place. We got drunk on my parents' liquor, talked heart to heart and well... we did some things friends don't do.
Sohee : Since she confessed to me. Yes, I know this doesn't sound very interesting but it's exactly what it is!
HAVE YOU LOVED SOMEONE SINCE YOU TWO PARTED?
Jiyeon : I fell in love with a man when I was in university and I have been together with him for 10 years and married for 6.
Sohee : I had a few boyfriends. I think you also know some of them. *giggles*
IF YOU'RE GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE, WOULD YOU RECONSIDER BE WITH THEM AGAIN?
Jiyeon : Most definitely.
Sohee : Sure.
WHAT DID YOU FEEL DURING THE ENTIRE FILMING?
Jiyeon : To be honest, I was extremely nervous that things would turn out badly, but everything went much much better than expected! I'm so glad I've reunited with my first love and that she will now be my eternal love. Sohee, I love you!
Sohee : I would never have accepted a student project if not for Jiyeon and I'm so glad I did. I'm so glad I've reunited her and seeing the youth being so passionate about film gives me hope for Korea's film industry.
DO YOU SEE YOURSELF SEEING EACH OTHER AGAIN AFTER THIS DOCUMENTARY?
Jiyeon : Yes of course!
Sohee : Without a doubt.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SAY TO THEM?
Jiyeon : Sohee, thank you for giving me a second chance to love you. I promise I will do so till the day I die.
Sohee : Shin Jiyeon! You know you're so mean for just running away from me like that so many years ago! And yet, I cannot find it in my heart to hate you for that. Thank you for coming back to me.
OUR STORY BRO I WROTE THIS WHOLE THING BUT THEN I ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED THE WRONG WINDOW I'M SO MAD
Basically :
- Sohee and Jiyeon met in high school and did things typical teenagers do together, as well as shared with each other about their creations
- At one point, Jiyeon realised she liked Sohee as more than a friend but kept it a secret because she was scared Sohee didn't feel the same way
- One night after graduation, Mr and Mrs Shin had to go to an old school friend's wedding dinner in a different city and were out of home for the night. Jiyeon invited Sohee over, they got drunk on Jiyeon's parents' alcohol, Jiyeon drunkenly confessed to Sohee and they slept together.
- After that night, Jiyeon ghosted Sohee and left for Japan, where she met her husband
- BTS member Jungkook released the MV for Seven in the summer of 2023, after Jiyeon had been with Jun for 10 years. Jiyeon thought the female lead looked familiar.
- A google search for "jungkook seven mv girl" confirmed Jiyeon's suspicions that the girl was indeed Sohee. Jiyeon decided to read articles and go through Sohee's blog and instagram to see what the latter was up to and watched the dramas Sohee was in and fell in love with her again, realising that despite being a famous star, Sohee was still the same girl she fell in love with many years ago.
- Jiyeon confided in Hina about her crush on Sohee through several emotional texts, and Hina tried her best to provide support.
- Jiyeon's old school friend shared the casting call for We Meet Again, and Jiyeon decided to apply with Hina's encouragement, as well as write an apology letter to Sohee courtesy of 9 Ato Entertainment without confessing her feelings yet, and told Sohee about We Meet Again.
- Both girls were accepted on We Meet Again and Jiyeon relocated to Korea temporarily, lying to Jun that she did so for work commitments.
- They got together after the show, and as of filming the epilogue, Jiyeon is in the midst of / has completed divorce proceedings. She has also been dating Sohee for a few months, under a low profile to avoid ruining Sohee's career.
- she also got fired by Bushiroad but it doesn't matter because Sohee is rich enough to support her (but seriously really Bushiroad? Queerbaiting and creating a canonically lesbian couple for the hits and then firing Jiyeon for dating another girl?)
